Punta Cana

Hotel was amazing! Service as well very great. Our manager Will, was always very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and various. Beach was good would rate as 4/5 and frequently cleaned. I would love to return again) Thank you!

We just returned from a wonderful all-inclusive week at the Majestic Mirage Punta Cana - all 16 of us, grandparents, adult children, and grandchildren (ages 15 - 85). This hotel is tops - excellent food, exceptionally friendly staff, beautiful rooms, modern very clean hotel, immaculate grounds, long beach for walking, and enough beach and pool chairs for everyone! We recommend it highly!

We stayed at the Adults only resort RIU Palace Macao (Nov to Dec 2024). This resort was fully renovated. Our room was located on the 2nd floor, it was nice & clean. We had two beds which we found comfortable. There is a ceiling fan above the bed which we enjoyed. The patio door curtains are opaque. On our balcony, we had 2 chairs a small table & a small drying rack. The balconies have a cement wall (approx. 6.5 feet high) on each side that prevents you from looking or being seen by your neighbours. Our maid service was excellent. We always had our fridge (beers, 475 ml soft drinks & 1.5 L water bottles) & bathroom towels/items... replenished when needed. There is also 4 bottles of different alcohol types (Gin, whiskey, Rum & Vodka) with a measuring dispenser. In the washroom you have a spacious walk-in shower with the option of a rain forest flow or hand held shower head. There are two sinks. In the closet, there are many wood hangers (approx. 22). There is a free digital safe. Wi-Fi is free in your room and on the resort (until the beginning of the beach area), we had no issues. The food was very good at all the locations we ate: Buffet (main building for breakfast, lunch & dinner). The buffet style restaurant has a wide variety of meats, fish, pastas, cold cuts, breads, cheeses, salads, sushi's, fresh fruits/vegetables, jams, Nutella, peanut butter, ice cream, yogurts, many deserts, condiments, syrups, etc...). The food & service at the four À la Carte restaurants (No reservation needed) was very good. The menus at the A la carte restaurants were revised/changed and we welcomed/appreciated the food now offered. For a little extra sweet (deserts), go to the Cappuccino Café. You can obtain many different pastries and different flavoured coffees/Teas. The service at all the bars was excellent. The 3 pools were kept clean. All public washrooms we used were kept clean. For the beautiful large beach area you have plenty of lounge chairs scattered between the many palm trees (no palapas). There are always available lounge chairs. There is an interlock pathway (approx. 150 feet from the ocean) connecting the 4 beachfront RIU hotels (Palace Punta Cana, Bambu, Palace Macao & Palace Bavaro). The location of the Riu Palace Macao is ideal for beach walkers. You can walk either way (East/West) for very long distances. We found the Beach amazing, white sand and nice blueish/green ocean water. For the gym & Spa services there is a new spa/gym building across the main lobby. Everything is very nice & new. The guests were mostly from USA, Canada & Europe. This hotel is quiet, no loud music/noise at night. The average age of the guests is approx. 55 years. The hard working hotel personnel (mostly All the same as before the renovations) are ALL wonderful, friendly & give you an excellent service with a smile from your check-in to your check-out. My spouse and I will definitely return to the RIU Palace Macao resort as we had another very relaxing vacation at this small Adult only resort.

We recently spent a week at Dreams Onyx in the Dominican Republic, and I have zero complaints. The hotel was beautiful and clean. The staff were amazing and super friendly. Food was good. Beaches, grounds and pools were well maintained. Definitely plan on going back.

comparing to other Royalton hotels, this one is absolutely not recommended 1) It is not well managed. It is a mess to find right people to help 2) there is very small place for buffet. It is always long line to wait for getting into buffet. Especially for lunch, the main buffet is not open, there is only one small buffet open, with capacity ~100 people. You need to wait for in average over 30 minutes to get in. 3) with so limited space for buffet, there is not even food truck available. 4) The restaurant essentially buffet quality, no special service 5) very few entertainments or activities organized

We had a good vacation. The resort has lots to do and there is always something going on. If you are looking for high quality service, this is not the place to stay. It is was challenging to interact with staff, most would ignore you.

We did not enjoy our stay at this resort. Although the beach was great, which is what we were looking for, the resort itself was not great. I would not consider this a 4.5 star resort. We were looking for small and quaint, which it was, and we appreciated the additional restaurant options at the neighboring family resort. However, the Punta Cana Princess itself was disappointing. the food was less than average, very creative with how many ways they could serve a hot dog. The buffet being outdoors was VERY HOT, meals were uncomfortable, and we worried about the quality of the cold foods due to the heat. I suffered the effects of something I ate there well after my return home. The rooms were run down, bathrooms very mildewy, and just seemed no clean. The towels smelled gross, were sometimes brownish, you could tell they did not use bleach on them and whatever they did use made them smell horrible. The 3rd floor rooms were very hot due to the high ceilings the air just could not keep the rooms cool, poor design. The pool was gross, we watched them put some sort of blue liquid into it in the morning and watched as they scrubbed the edges with some sort of cleaner that went into the water, after seeing this we didn't go near it. The staff was ok for the most part but felt service was very tip driven, if you tipped, they loved you, if you didn't, you were ignored. We tipped very well but felt put off that it was so expected. We would not come back to this resort, or any princess resort due to this experience.

We traveled with our three kids (aged 1 - 8) and found the resort to be beautiful and most of the staff were amazing. Overall it was a good experience, sharing the following: - When we arrived, we were told a crib was in our room set-up, but if it wasn't, to contact the desk. It wasn't there, so we ended up having to call multiple times (I think it was 3 or 4) and finally we went to the desk after 8pm (close to 4 hours after we arrived) to ask that one be brought to the room. Our toddler was already asleep on our bed but we knew that wouldn't last. It was frustrating, but in the end, the crib was actually a good one and she slept great in it. - The reservation system for dinner is ANNOYING. You have to do it through an app (DUMB) and can book for 3 nights. Unfortunately, this wasn't explained to us very well when we arrived so by the time I went to book our first dinner on the second day, nothing was available for that day or the following two days. The front desk directed me to the reservation table that was open 8am - 3pm the following day. The person working there obviously had no time for service and was the least helpful. I was finally able to book Friday night and then the following days I was able to get Saturday and Sunday booked. I would give anyone else heading there a heads up that they need to book their reservations asap in the morning when they arrive through the app, and for as many night as they can. I think there is a staff shortage because most restaurants had LOADS of space for dinner every night, but wouldn't take walk-ins, which was super frustrating. - We ended up eating at the buffet Monday - Thursday for dinner. 6:30pm was super busy, and there weren't enough stations/people to do the popular stations, so we ended up standing in line for a long time. We figured it out after a few nights and just started going a little later, closer to 7pm. Dinner food was OK, but nothing too exciting. - Breakfast buffet was delicious. - Staff in the buffet was wonderful most days and really went out of their way to help. - Lunch we did the Mexican buffet, beach food truck, or sports bar and all were good, keeping in mind the food truck was busy (long line). We never did the main buffet because the times were weird (1:30-3:30pm when the toddler would nap). - It was a little annoying that there wasn't anywhere to get snacks in the afternoon. If we just wanted something to eat around 4pm to get us through to dinner, we had to go to the buffet or get something sweet from the coffee cafe or ice cream place. - Kids club was amazing, the kids LOVED it and the staff. - We had to use the medical clinic and they were helpful, along with the front desk, in getting us what we needed. - Beach is gorgeous. - Pools were wonderful - the kids loved them and could have swam all day every day. - Our room was perfect. The bedroom with 2 kings and a full bathroom was great, and then having the living space with a second full bathroom was a game changer. - The cleaning staff and mini bar staff were great. - We did try room service a few times and were happy with it. - They are building a new resort next door and so they were aggressively trying to get us to attend a session to try and sell us time share in it (we think). They stopped us numerous times and one point even cut us off as we walked. - There are spa staff, excursions, and random sellers all over the beach trying to sell stuff, and even around the pool area (excursions/spa). I'm pretty sure that's just resorts now, but still annoying. Just be firm in your decline.
