Our stay at Nickelodeon Resort

, Port Sydney, ON

We had a wonderful time at the resort with what was open. The staff were lovely and the food was great. What was a little disappointing was what was not open (Baby Zone on the resort, half the restaurants and bars). No where on the website nor the app did it mention that this was the case. If it did we may have decided to go to another resort. Even the app would show restaurants that was open and when we go for dinner it was actually closed. I would ask they have someone update both the website and the app daily to accurately reflect what is truly open for meals. [Details]

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

The property and beach at this hotel are beautiful but there are so many shortcomings at this resort. The staff although friendly are poorly trained - do not know answers to questions about facilities or amenities on the property. It is not designed with babies/young children in mind as all dishes are heavy ceramic, no stools in the room for kids to use in the bathroom etc. Restaurants are closed 11a,-1pm and as most young kids nap early afternoon, we had to order room service every day at noon as there was nowhere else to eat lunch before my daughter's nap time. By day 3 my son got food poisoning and was throwing up all night and then by day 5 by husband had food poisoning for the last 2 days.
The concierge was very pushy about signing up for a 60-minute presentation for I believe a time share, I was not interested and let him know. The following morning, he called my room asking if I was coming and when I said no and also that my son was throwing up sick all night, he started getting upset with me telling me that I had to come and the only reason he got me the dinner reservation the night before was because he wanted me to come to this presentation so now, I owed him a favour! After we got off the phone, he came to find me by my room and kept pressing me to come to the presentation. I told him I was not coming and also would not leave my kids (age 1 and 5) alone in the hotel room. He told me that it wasn't a big deal to leave my kids alone in the room as I was not leaving the property and he didn't care if I actually watched the presentation, to just sign the paperwork he needed for his 'budget' and 'bonus' associated with this presentation. It was absolutely ridiculous and ruined the end of the trip. I do not recommend this resort and for any families considering, I would explore other options. At check out, when my husband told the front desk about our experience, they apologized and offered him a cookie. [Details]

Not worth it

I recently stayed at the Nickelodeon Resort in Punta Cana and it was an absolutely terrible experience. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this resort.

The service during meal times was nonexistent and the food was a complete disappointment. The food took forever to come out and when it finally did, it was underwhelming and lacked quality. Additionally, there was a shortage of items during our stay, including drinks, which was frustrating.

If you have a baby, good luck getting a high chair because they are never available. Hopefully you won't need to call the front desk to request something, because you'll need to call five more times just to get what you need.

The only redeeming quality of this resort is the waterpark, which is why I recommend purchasing a day pass to Aqua Nick instead of staying at the resort. The spa was nice, but not enough to make up for the poor service and terrible food.

Overall, my experience at the Nickelodeon Resort in Punta Cana was a complete disappointment. Save yourself the trouble and book a stay at a quality resort instead. [Details]

Kids loved it!

Lots to do & lots of characters to meet = busy days, but the app and using an alarm on my phone made it easy to stay on top of everything! Lots of shade at the waterpark, so I could relax while the kids played. Character Meets were 50 feet from the waterpark, took 5 minutes & then we went back to our activities. Might book a swim up (ground floor) hotel room next time! [Details]

Family Friendly Resort

We had a great time at this resort. Lots of activities for the children to keep them busy while the parents can relax and have some good food and drinks. Lots of staff on the grounds who were all very helpful and kind.
Rooms were very nice and clean although the pull out bed was not very comfortable.
Beach was nice and sandy - no rocks or coral to worry about.
Had lots of events in the village area most nights and shows in the theatre for the kids. [Details]

Beware of this hotel

We had a bad overall experience at this resort. For starters one of the glass panels on our balcony was loose and we have a walking baby. Also the closet door could not be opened properly. To get a drink by the beach or pool you have to get it yourself despite tipping the staff nice tips (min of $5US). This is supposed to be a kids resort which in our mind meant that all the fun activities for the kids are for us to be done as a family but parents could not partake. Lots of stuff are in addition to the price (ie pj character breakfast, a coconut, sliming, etc). When we complained we were told to come speak with the manager in the morning to be compensated and when we did we realized they were trying to sell us a time share to get the service. The pool and kids water park has freezing cold water and the kids are all crying to get out. [Details]

This hotel is phenomenal ! SO clean! The service was top notch. All of the employees could speak English. The workers were amazing with kids. The rooms are beautiful. The waterpark is fantastic. The shows were great! The Characters were great ! Wifi was accessible over ALL parts of the resort. Our 8 month old son got very sick, we went to the medical center and received the best care! We were given antibiotics on site and direct billed to our insurance at home! We will be going back, again and again and again! [Details]

Family Vacation

, Toronto, ON

Nickelodeon, nice hotel. Great amenities for kids. What was really disappointing was our room (one king and a couch bed). Why would they even think of offering a couch bed for sleeping arrangements. I have a 4 and a 7 year old and you could feel the springs etc. Damn you are on your vacation,,,not a good start. Not good at all!

People are really nice. Food was horrible. Not sure what they are thinking but definitely the worst place I have stayed at for food and we paid what for this trip??. When you go to a resort the last thing you want is for the food to be below average and many vacationers we encountered voiced the same concerns.

Beach, Pool and the layout of the resort was nice and everything is close by. The place wasn't overcrowded and the weather was JUST beautiful.

Another disappointment, they allowed Vendors to set up shop in the main square where all the restaurants are located. At first I thought this was great until these vendors started to hound us to buy something. It was a little too much. Their approach was somewhat borderline forceful. Not sure what management of this resort was thinking allowing this, especially when you are trying to enjoy yourself.

In my opinion, this place is not a 5 star. Food was just bad bad bad overall when compared to the Azuls (Mayan Riveria) and many other places that I have stayed at, very disappointing.

If it wasn't for the water park area (nicks place) and events (really nice, job well done), I would give this place a 3.

That is pretty much it. Basically would never go back to this location again (and I have been to many!). [Details]

Amazing experience

Nothing negative to say about this resort, all the staff were courteous and helpful. From the start we were greeted with a fresh towel and beverages and the service continued from there. The waterpark was perfect for the kids and the right pool depth so they could play freely. Even though the resort was busy it never really felt that way with the exception of the infinity pool. Lots of things for the kids to do and see and encouragement for parents to have someone alone time as well. [Details]

It is a beautiful resort. The staff are friendly and work very hard to make sure your stay is everything you hope.

Food at Sugar Cane is amazing. We at there for every meal. Buffet with many choices and different theme each day.

Activities for kids were great. Energetic and fun.

My only complaint is the little souvenir store/pharmacy is CRAZY EXPENSIVE!!! [Details]
