Cancun

We experienced issues with mini bar, amenities, room service, noise and bugs in the room. Contacted the resort and they simply don't seem to care. Food was great but not labelled so incredibly difficult for vegetarians or those with allergies. Only 3 bathrooms for the whole resort and restaurants. Two are outside. Extremely clean however. Staff constantly cleaning the bathrooms and resort grounds.

We had an absolutely amazing time at this hotel! It is smaller but was absolutely perfect for us, I do not think we would have had the same experience at a larger resort. The pool and beach areas were both fantastic and it was definitely the cleanest stretch of beach around us. There are cabanas that can be rented for a fee but we never found it difficult to find beach chairs if you got to the beach at a reasonable time as they do not allow people to claim chairs before 8am. There was some sargassum at the time we went but not enough to stop us from being in the water. The bar was in the lobby area and we made lots of friends chatting while drinking at night. This is not high level luxury but we thought it was a lovely property and the size made it easy to make friends. We saw children while there but there are no kid specific activities so I would say this is more of an adult orientated hotel. If someone is a huge foodie this might not be the place for them as the choices at the buffet tended to be similar from day today but we were not super picky and able to enjoy ! One party member is celiac and found options limited but could still eat; another had nut/seafood/ coconut allergy. Chianti and umami were able to accommodate her allergies and she was able to use discretion at the buffet. You are not allowed to take food from any restaurants even as leftovers so make sure you eat your fill as after 10pm there is no snacks etc available. All the staff were extremely kind and knowledgeable. It was extremely easy to catch the bus anywhere from the front of the hotel. We booked our excursions on our own but they have staff who can assist with this at the hotel. Overall we all had an absolutely amazing time and would go back !

This was my first resort trip. I'm worried for our next because I don't know how it can compare to this one. The entertainment and activities were amazing! The food was amazing! So many restaurants to choose from and all were delicious. The teppenyaki was the best. The staff was stellar. They even gave all 14 of us personalized change purses (ladies) or key chains (gents) and a special cake on our last day because they were so happy we spent our vacation with them. 12 out 10. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

The hotels location is great, close to the mall, market and the coco bongo where we watched the show. All the staff at riu cancun were nice starting from our check in, from all the restaurant and amenities. We were on the second floor the first 2 days of the stay and then we asked for the room to be changed for the rest our stay. We were moved to 9th floor which had an amazing view of the beach. The food is great too, from japanese restaurant to italian and theres the buffet that has lots to choose from.

The only single good thing was the staff. The place is falling apart. Elevator broke down for 3 days. I felt bad for the staff not to mention older vacationers. We arrived late and had to pay a late check out fee although we paid for the day we missed entirely.

Biggest points scored by the hotel: a slice of cake and a small bottle of champagne delivered to my room on my birthday. Due to this surprised consideration, I hesitate to complain about the tattered towels and tablecloths being used daily. The buffet dining was low quality. Cleanliness was slipping also in many areas: room, shower, plates, utensils, tables, chairs, etc. I know which Hotels these aren't and I also know that cutting corners does not promote returning patrons.

Definitely recommend this place. Had something for everyone. Fantastic food, great pools and great beach with lots of umbrellas and canopies. Entertainment was always on the go. From daytime activities to nighttime parties.

We loved it here so much we didn't want to go home.... our Travel Agent recommended this resort. Entertainment, beaches, service, adults only & good food are important to us. This vacation clicked all these boxes. The entertainment was great as well and we were able to enjoy it at both resorts. We arranged a dinner on the beach and WOW.... The room ws just OK, but the view and the rest made up for it.

I am not happy. Based on advertising as per what we were presented with, not a match at all. The service at the front desk was horrible. A lot of attitude, not helpful and could not guide in simple questions. The cleanliness of the hotel was fine. But the rooms need a good refreshing. New pillows and mattresses. The buffet, well was a buffet. But the A la Carte restaurant were very disappointing. Sitting around waiting, and not being able to make a reservation was very frustrating and put a lot in a bad mood. Big group traveling. The beach was beautiful and the staff surrounding the beach and pools were fun, quick on the service and always smiling.
