Cancun
The resort common areas are quite nice and the resort is large enough to not feel crowded but small enough that it's easy to walk around everywhere. Most of the bar and food service was good although the Mexican restaurant (surprisingly enough) left some to be desired. The other a la carte dining options were excellent. Rooms were overall dirty, had incomplete or poorly completed renovations (exceptionally bad finishing work and paint, broken doors, broken and sometimes exposed electrical including on our pool area, noisy and poorly working air conditioning, non working safe, no hair dryer, several broken lights.) Saw multiple rooms and all had similar issues. Whoever is in charge of repairs and maintenance to rooms definitely needs to step it up quite a bit. Housekeeping was very inconsistent (despite tipping). Some days in room mini bar was restocked nicely, other days no one even checked it. Bedding was always changed and well done however the bathroom particularly the tub and toilet were dirty when we first got the room and remained dirty throughout our stay. Bathroom sink drain was clogged and barely worked. Hot water for showering was almost never available. Staff at the bars and restaurants were always friendly and helpful. Concierge, tour planners, and waiting staff were all very pleasant and easy to deal with and went above and beyond generally. Common areas were tidy and well kept and food and drinks were generally good. Some higher quality alcohols were available if requested. Entertainment was somewhat lack luster. The entertainment staff were great and very friendly and energetic but the entertainment offered was very limited. [Details]

The strong points
Nice pool area, nice bars, a la carte dining options, nice beach area.
The weak points
Poor room conditions, not enough loungers at pool or beach, faulty electrical and poor renovations evident everywhere, weak entertainment selection.
Sanitary measures
Seemed fine although room cleanliness was very questionable so it's hard to say how thorough the sanitation really is.

Nice common facilities, terrible rooms
