Enjoyable stay

Very nice area. Third time at this hotel. A relaxing pool area. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of food choices.
Only negative with our stay was the tub/shower placement. The tub was not easy to get in and out of. Taps difficult to use and turn off/on. [Details]

Extremely disappointed

Don't be fooled. This is not an Oasis, it's Urban. You have to love LOUD disco/electronic/hard rock music to appreciate the place which I did not. The hotel has potential. It has a nice enclosed courtyard with palm trees and swimming pool. A restaurant with limited exterior tables is adjacent to the pool where you can have a peaceful breakfast listening to the birds chirping and the wind in the palm trees. But… at 9h00 this all stop with LOUD music everywhere. Ans since it's an enclose courtyard, the music is bouncing everywhere and there is no place to hide from it. Then… at 3 PM, another set of speakers kicks-in and you have LOUDER music until 8 PM. I noticed that most of the people left the swimming pool area at 3PM. I was on the 5th floor and had to close the patio door for some peace and quiet. I reported the situation to management, but they ignored me completely.
TIP #1: you don't need constant loud music for teenagers, it's a turnoff. You lose revenues because nobody stays to eat or drink.
TIP #2: you could move the chairs in the pool terrace area at night and put dining table for quiet and romantic dinners. Light soft jazz would be nice. Great revenue stream. (we want to hear the birds and the trees)

Conclusion: I rate this hotel to be a 3/10. Stay away from it. Don't be fooled by the nice ads. [Details]

My review

The Hotel offers what it promises. The staff is very respectful, responsive and helpful. I enjoyed my stay at Oh! and would definitely recommend. They have better pricing than other hotels. If you are tight on budget and still would like more or less same luxuries other resorts have to offer definitely consider this. [Details]

The strong points
Closer to mall and local market. Lots of eating places in the vicinity. Close to transit access.
The weak points
Few glitches related to delivery of items requested in time. I emailed the hotel in advance to ask some questions prior to my stay and didn't receive reply so that area needs work.

This is the 2nd time we have been here this year for an urban escape. Its clean, friendly, pool area has tons of unique seating (Bali beds, padded loungers etc) we actually stayed in the same room both times #47. Elevator worked both times we were there, no issues. Best part of this place is the restaurants within walking distance. You can go to Market 28 and eat, we LOVE PikNik and El Poblano (ask for Ivan!) cheap meals and drinks, more than you could want for $20-25 CDN. Quick, cheap cab ride to ferry terminal to Isla Mujeres (about $10pp round trip) , sure you can rent scooters and golf carts to boot around the island. 100 great restaurants there and several free beach clubs (just buy food or drink) to mix it up. Also has Dolphin Sanctuary. We did this the first time and swam with manatees. I would recommend this hotel if you want a non-all inclusive option. We usually do AI but did this twice and loved it. Grocery store less than 5 mins away with anything you could need. Never got sick eating out either time. They will also shuttle you for free to either sister resort in beach. You have the option to buy AI for the day, we never did. No experience with nightclub and there were never parties at the pool.
Would I go again? Yes. If I was looking for a relaxed time and wanted to go back to Cancun, absolutely. Can't beat the value and breakfast was included with good selection of eggs, fruit, pastries, local cuisine and juices. And Wi-Fi was vastly improved 2nd time, boyfriend was able to stream movies in room on 4th floor. [Details]

Stay at Oh by Oasis

Been to Oh and Smart three times now, this is a very quiet relaxing location, excellent pool and staff is extremely friendly. Mega Bites and White Terrace food & drink menu's are offered at very reasonable rates and are very good. Being downtown and away from the busy and expensive "Hotel Zone" gives you the option to enjoy authentic and very reasonable priced great lunch & dinner options. A daily shuttle gives you the option to go to Palm & Grand to be right on the beach. [Details]
