Beautiful hotel - gorgeous pools - lovely updated rooms - amazing food and unbelievable customer service!

Hotel is a 5* Food is excellent at the buffets a huge delicious selection…the Al la cartes not so much except for the Chinese was great. Grounds are very well kept & workers very professional. The night club isn't a necessity as the drama for the younger crowd causes the resort guests distress…for its closes at 2am & the party continues waking older guests up due to intoxication & disruption of the resort. Close to the ocean lot's happening during the day entertainment wise & I highly recommend we also will return…rooms were clean & perfect daily

My family visited hard rock Vallarta over the Christmas holidays and it was absolutely one of the best experiences of our life my youngest daughter who is 17 and says it was better than Disneyland. Staff went above and beyond and all of us can't wait to come back thank you hard rock

The hotel was quite isolated and the ride from the airport was over an hour. You can take Uber to Sayulita and Bucerias and it is very cost effective. Once you arrive the hotel is amazing and everything was of the highest quality. You can walk on the beach for hours and the water was calm for this side of the country. The wifi was great and the app worked for making reservations to the ala carte's. The bartenders remembered our drinks and sometimes had them ready when you walked up to the bar. Our favorite restaurant was the Mexican and make sure and order the 12 hour short ribs. The highlight of the resort is the entertainment team especially Esteban and his crew (Marco, Polo, Oscar and Sheree) They provided a personal experience by remembering everyone's names and encouraging people to participate in the activities, but it was not to much pressure if you didn't want to play.

We have never stayed at a Dreams resort, but we had heard they were great for families. This resort is one of the few that were built to be a Dreams/Secrets resort (many others were purchased and then rebranded as a Dreams resort) and it's fairly new, built in 2021 I believe. It's expansive and there is always a pool or restaurant to go to without much wait. You never feel like it's crowded or that you have to wait in a long line. Our kids (ages 3 and 6) loved the pools, waterpark, poolside grill, and especially Kids Club (starts at age 3). The rooms were well designed though there is construction going on next door to the resort that does impact some of the views of the more expensive 'oceanview' rooms. In this respect, I'd advise not splurging for the oceanview until the construction is complete. As for the staff, very friendly and accommodating. Great entertainment--fiesta night, fire show, st. patrick's day event. Good fun for the whole family. Make sure to ask for a VIP access for at least one day to try the Secretes French restaurant called Bordeaux--it was amazing. Also, Sofi at concierge was super helpful with setting us up with access to the restaurant.

Large hotel with 700 rooms but only 1 buffet. It wasn't overly busy in November, but I think it would be awful in Jan/Feb for crowds. There were only 3 al a carte restaurants (1 being Mexican), and we were allowed only2 choices in our week. They were good, but wished we had more choices. Pool is just adequate. Good idea to have a quiet adult only pool. THe food is very average. Often the buffet food was just warm. We didn't get sick fortunately. THe drinks were very good and of good quality. We didn't like the fact that of the 2 tennis courts, one was closed down (No reason given), and the pickleball court was finally finished the day we left. Beware...the gym is an extra charge. For a 4-5 star hotel this is ridiculous. They charge $16US/day. It sat mostly empty the whole week. Bikes are available 2 hr free/day but only starts at 0900 (would recommend they start at 0700 to avoid the heat). Staff were great. We didn't like signing a receipt for every drink/meal. This is a bit cumbersome when you are enjoying the beach and want to leave and have to find your server to sign. I won't go back. Too many changes to limit my enjoyment from the first time we were here.

Front desk handoff to time share people is beyond annoying. Your bracelet is put on by time share people Needs to be front desk and get you to your room. Buffet was mediocre at best. Room and resort were decent. Near impossible to get a reservation at the Al a cartes. Resort is very member and time share oriented. Adult pool is very nice. If you can get a decent time reservation for the Amalfi restaurant, do it as the food is fabulous. Overall rating 2

Spent a week over Christmas at the Decameron Isla Coral. Wasn't expecting luxury, but was hoping for more than what we found. This is a decent option if you are looking for a great beach for a reasonable price and don't care about amenities, activities or “extras”. Rooms are super basic - nowhere to unpack your clothes except for a single tiny bedside table. Shower was awful - no hot water, and the water came out as a trickle. Food is very repetitive, bland and basic. The buffet “themes” were just variations on the same items. Was longing for guacamole and never saw any! The à la cart is only open on Fridays and is very limited for space. This applies to all 3 of the Decamerons in Guayabitos, which are essentially identical to each other, so you really only get 1 meal option. There is no transportation between the 3 resorts. You can either pay for a taxi or walk 20ish minutes. And the front desk staff (if they will talk to you rather than just glaring or rolling their eyes) will tell you that you need a reservation to eat at the other 2 buffets, but the reservation system generally doesn't work as it relies on the terrible Wifi. Pool is tiny and mostly used by families with young kids. It's surrounded by the U-shaped building, so is mostly in the shade and doesn't have a view of the ocean. The beach is spectacular. Clean, soft sand. Water is warm and shallow in the area in front of the resort, so very safe to swim. Vendors are quite aggressive and relentless. Limited beach chairs, so get up early and place your towels.
