Over priced, needs improvements
I've been to this resort many times. It makes me feel comfortable seeing so many familiar faces. This time I stayed for two weeks. They have made many improvements since my first visit 18 years ago, however they do seem to be going backwards and the pricing is going up. Many of the staff are amazing. The food is ok/good, I think you'll always be able to find some thing to satisfy you. The were lacking on signage so sometimes I would pass by something if I could make out what it was., also could be a problem for those with allergies. The Salmon in the a la carte is my favorite and the Taco soup. When we arrived no one mentioned the a la cartes, if we hadn't been there before we wouldn't have known. We signed up for the first two but then heard from other guested that they changed the way they were doing things and you have to sign up with guest services and get a ticket. I was disappointed that staff didn't inform us. The fellow from guess services is always late arriving and sometimes if difficult to find during the day as he doesn't stay at his desk so its annoying having to wait around for him but you have to book 24 hours prior to the meal. The rooms are very outdated but I must give the cleaning staff kudos, even if the rooms don't look great they do clean them very well. I thought is was very odd that they have cut back on things like zero face cloths, hair conditioner, body lotion, there was two bottles of shampoo, two bars of soap and to bottles of water. They have water coolers in the hallways that you can refill your water bottles which is great to reduce plastic bottle waste but this year I found that more often then not they were empty. They advertise that the rooms have coffee makers and refrigerators but this is incorrect. I have yet to see a coffee maker or heard of anyone else having one in there room. They actually just started putting refrigerators in the rooms while we were there. You do have an ice bucket but you have to wait for the pool bar to open and you can take in down and ask for ice. In the 14 days I was there I switched rooms two time. The first day I went to have a shower and to tub was so high that it was not easy to get into. The paint was peeling around the drain and the tub it self was very stained. The shower head was very low which made rinsing my hair challenging. After dinner I went to the front desk and asked to be switch as I couldn't see doing that for two weeks. The girl at the desk gave me a different room right away. I packed up and moved to the new room. The air conditioner wasn't on and the room was very warm, no problem I turned it on and unpacked my cloths. This room had a walk in shower and again two bottles of shampoo and two bars of soap. My room never cooled down I woke up many times through the night trying to change the settings on the converter but no luck. I even google the manual for the remote thinking I just wasn't using it properly. I mentioned to the front desk and they said they would send someone. I went on about my day and that evening my room was still warm. Again I mentioned to the front desk this time someone came up clicked some buttons on the remote and I believe he said he had to go up on the roof then it would be working. The next morning still not working. Once again I go to the front desk and the girl said she will follow up right away. I was waiting for my friends as we were going out on an outing and I guest the girl thought I was waiting for results and she said again that she was going to follow up right away. I felt to me she was saying "go away". When I cam back my room was still hot and humid I called down And I was unaware My friend was speaking on my behalf at the same time. The man that answered the phone said that the air conditioner will take a few days to fix and they will move me to a different room. Once again packed up my belongings and moved to another room. This room the air was working, the room was clean, it was missing a shear and when I went to close the heavy curtain the rod fell off (which wasn't a deal breaker) again two bottles of shampoo and two bars of soap, no coffee maker and no fridge. I noticed this room I actually had hot water in the shower. the other two rooms it was barely warm I just figured that was the best I was going to get, (I'm not quick to complain). I remained it that room until my departure. The pool is nice and clean. The loungers by the pool are wearing out. There is one amazing girl that covers serving the snack bar area and the pool area (I don't know how she does it everyday. The loungers at the ocean side need new cushions or maybe clean the ones that are there, they are kind of gross looking. They have one person working the ocean side bar, he also has to run across the road to the pool bar for food orders. They have plenty of security camera's around the resort yet one evening there were three men having a sexual encounter on the ocean side which was not what anyone expected to see and the three men didn't seem to care if anyone saw them. I do love the location of the resort, you can walk to many stores. When you arrive at the resort many of the first people you see look very uninterested and don't smile or greet you at all, it's not very welcoming. We try to make the most of our holiday and try not to sweat the little things but I don't think we will go back next year. Way over priced and really needs some updating for sure. I left feeling a little disappointed. They would really have to make big improvements and have a fantastic offer to make up for the last visit. P.S. I almost forgot to mention I did get an amazing massage by Candy, it was one of the best I've had. I went into the spa.

Wonderful Vacation
We had an awesome trip and would definitely go back, One adult with three children ages 10, 8, and 6. The entertainment team they had was excellent especially the one for kids, Arbey, Isis, Alejandro and many others. The quality to price ratio was very good. So if you keep that in mind I'm sure you will enjoy this resort. A very nice resort for the price, if you are the type of person that expects to get Filet Mignon when you eat at McDonalds than this place is probably not for you :) I've stayed at Sandals Negril which is a way better resort and I loved it, but this was probably a better value when considering the price. If you don't like rocky beaches Cozumel in general may not be the right destination for you, the beach at the resort is very beautiful but you need water shoes to get waist deep in the ocean or you will have sore feet because it's very rocky. The snorkelling in Cozumel is great but the ocean is a little rougher than Jamaica. I've heard this from multiple people about Cancuun and Riviera maya as well, but there is more to see, much more coral and fish. The rooms are nice but the bathroom could use a little updating. They could probably use one more a la carte restaurant, but the food was good in general especially the breakfast buffet, their guacamole is amazing and their Nachos. Only 2 pools and not big pools but very nice and lots of activities in the main pool. No public jacuzzi though, but I didn't even notice until 5 days in to the trip when I saw a private one walking by a room, because we were having such a good time. They had a Mexican and then a Caribbean night while we were there which were really nice. They put lots of tables next to the main pool and theatre area and had nice ethnic shows and outdoor buffet. Staff were really nice and helpful. When you arrive they offer you to sit through a presentation in exchange for funny money. It takes about 2 hours including breakfast, they are not very pushy if you say no and if you are planning on doing excursions it's definitely worth it, we got $300 of "Funny Money" to spend at the resort or on excursions. So we were able to use it for snorkelling boat tour and Dolphin Discovery. I had read reviews beforehand that said they weren't pushy or aggressive, which was true or I would have skipped the presentation. My kids had a great time and want to go back next year!

very nice small resort
This is a small resort and different from the multi pool, long beaches and huge buffet types we usually go to. Pick up from the airport was fast and easy. As we had an early flight we got to the hotel around 11:15. We were told we couldn't check-in until 3:00 so had to hang around in our travel clothes until then. We were able to have lunch and refreshments though. The hotel was well kept, nice rooms, cleaned spotlessly everyday, and a balcony with a view of the ocean. Breakfast was at the buffet by the ocean and served the usual fare, tasty though. Lunch could also be had here as well and the paella specially made a couple of times was delicious. There is also a beach hut with shrimp and fish tacos and other sea food which was amazing. Dinner was at the main hotel and there was an Italian, Mexican and Japanese restaurant. No reservations were necessary and we were seated quickly, the Italian was our favourite. There is also a beach party night with food and a managers reception with food on another evening. Food was excellent everywhere. Always plenty of loungers available at the beach. Actually there is no real beach as such but you enter the water through a rocky entrance. Water shoes make it easier, but it is somewhat awkward. there are some ladders at the other side but storm damage meant that only one was usable. There is good snorkeling as soon as you enter the water Entertainment is limited at night but there was always something happening by the main pool bar and people to mix with, we made some nice friends. Staff are fabulous and seem genuinely pleased to serve you. Some of the best we have met. We will definitely be returning here again.
