Several accommodation issues
I recently stayed at the Occidental Cozumel and overall, I had a good experience. The food options were excellent each day, and I enjoyed the drinks. Most of the wait staff were pleasant and very helpful, which added to the enjoyable atmosphere.
However, I did encounter several issues during my stay that I feel need to be addressed. Upon arrival, we asked for assistance with our bags, but the bellhop refused to help us, despite being seen assisting Royal Level guests, which was disappointing. Additionally, I noticed that there were no welcome drinks offered, which I have experienced at other resorts.
For the first two days, I had no hot water, which was quite inconvenient. Although I left tips for the cleaning staff, I didn't notice any extra effort on their part, so I ceased tipping after that.
The last three days of my stay were disrupted by construction in the room next door. The noise made it difficult to relax, and despite reporting it to management, the issue continued. The paint fumes from the renovations were overwhelming, causing me significant headaches, and I felt that my concerns were not adequately addressed.
Lastly, on the last two days, we experienced a lack of water for about an hour each morning, which added to the overall discomfort of my stay.
Given these inconveniences, I would appreciate the resort considering a refund for the disruptions I faced. Thank you for providing a platform for my feedback, and I hope that my concerns can help improve the experience for future guests.
