Puerto Vallarta

We had not been to the Hyatt Ziva for six years and saw a few changes such as a new restaurant called Tamari which is Asian. Delicious food and you can sit at Teppanyaki table and they cook your food right infront of you. There were new stores to shop at for clothing, swimsuits, jewellery and a pharmacy. We stayed in the club tower and the rooms were beautiful and well appointed. Large balconies to relax on with your morning coffee. Downstairs in the club tower is a bar and a place where you can get food and drinks. The beach is beautiful and the Hyatt is the only hotel on the beach. Food was fresh and delicious at all the restaurants. The Blaze has a wonderful spot right on the water. The staff were so welcoming and kind. They made our vacation the best one yet.

OVERALL , I JUST LOVE THIS HOTEL, AND WILL CONTINUE TO COME TO PUERTO VALLARTA AS LONG AS I AM ABLE ,

I will start this review by saying that we are not travel snobs. We try to stay in middle of the line resorts with good food. CDS was dated and I wanted to cry when I first got in the room. It was run down and the furniture (couch and chairs) were stained and we had to get sheets to put over them to sit on them. The Buffett was repetitive and poor quality. The à la cartes were all good that we had. The main pool area was very nice but not much going on for activities other than water volleyball and aqua aerobics. The bars frequently ran out of ingredients such as mint and strawberry mix. And their selection of alcohols were limited which limited the drinks you could get. The location of the resort in PV was great. They didn't have a very strong beach presence with not many loungers. Lots of vendors on the beach but I think that is a PV thing. Not a lot of activities to do on the beach, if any.

second time to a Dreams. this one was very noisy , didn't realize the Secret's for 55 and older was a thing would of gone there. other wise the staff were excellent, love the all inclusive.

We had a great stay and a lot of fun as a family. The hotel's overall appearance could use a bit of TLC and is a little dated, but it was very clean and the staff are amazing. Our room itself was okay. We did have cockroaches in the room at the beginning of our stay, but the hotel fumigated right away and we didn't have any issues after that. The beds in our room (631) were quite firm and not the most comfortable, although my in-laws in room 658 said their beds were much softer. The location of room 631 was actually great for families. We were very close to the pool, which made it easy to quickly run back to the room with the kids. There isn't a ramp nearby, so technically you need to go around through the lobby to use the elevator, but we usually just carried our stroller up to save time. We were also close to the beach, which was perfect because we liked going there every morning. The beaches are beautiful. The water can be a bit rough, but it's still great to swim in. The sunsets were incredible every night. There's also a really fun bar at VI with a great 2-for-1 happy hour. The buffet was decent. The woman running the omelette station at breakfast is amazing. The Italian and French restaurants were both very good. The Japanese restaurant was just okay — there's no sushi and the food wasn't the best compared to the others. If you want restaurant reservations, you need to be on the app right at 9:00 a.m. or they book up immediately and you'll end up with a very late dinner around 9:00 p.m. The beach snack bar was actually really good — great burgers and fries. It's open from 12–4 and can get busy because the buffet closes between 11–1. Also, the breakfast buffet gets very crowded after 8:30 a.m., so if you're traveling with kids it's better to go earlier to avoid long lines. The water park is great and my son loved the slides (although they are very fast!). They also offer zip lining in the mornings, which is a really fun extra activity for kids. There's also a kids club and a baby club. The baby club is open to families for a couple hours in the morning (around 8–10, I believe), but outside of that time you can only leave your child there. It seemed very safe, and my son enjoyed it the first day, but he was the only child there at the time and didn't feel like the staff interacted with him very much, so he didn't want to go back. The kids club has daily activities with something different almost every hour, which is nice because you can drop in for things like face painting, cooking classes, crafts, movie time, and more. One of our favorite parts of the trip was the nightly entertainment across the street at Club Nitro. We were pleasantly surprised by the Fantasia show — my son absolutely loved it. They even had Paw Patrol characters and Disney characters. The shows start around 8:30–9:00 p.m., which is a bit late for little kids, but it was definitely worth staying up for. We came during spring break, and for the price we paid, it was really excellent value. We would definitely stay here again.

Rooms: Rooms are good and well maintained. We were on the 8th floor. They stop your mini fridge with water and drinks daily. The elevators can be a bit slow at times but the doors close on you quick so be aware especially if you have kids. Store in the hotels: Sells a variety of pool floats, toys etc and some medications as well as sunblock. $20 us currency for a bottle of sunblock. Tips: Tips are always welcome and most tip in US dollars or Pesos. If you have large bills the front desk will exchange them for you if they have currency - a bit of a shortage on 20pesos at the moment OWest poke bowl restaurant for adults only. Only 6 tables here and food is served from 1.15pm so u must be here by 1 to get seating. The view is beautiful and the drinks are the best at this bar. We enjoyed the prawn poke bowl the best. This restaurant also has an infinity pool Maintenance and service: one thing we appreciated about this place was the prompt service. When the safe/shower water pressure/bed situation wasn't up to par they worked on it very quickly. We had booked a room with double beds but ended up with a king which didn't work for 4 of us so they brought up an extra twin bed for us. The rooms are big enough to accommodate this. Construction: construction is taking place and will take place for another year or so and if you have a balcony it will probably face the construction site so just be aware. Although it is noisy at times it never bothered us. Pools: water temperature in the pool was great especially the one closer to the beach - nice and warm. If you have experienced the Krystal grand in Nuevo Vallarta these pools are a bit smaller. Lots of activities at the pool area daily where you can win bottles of tequila and wine etc. La Catrina: excellent Mexican food. You have to make a reservation online starting at 10am the day of the booking. You can also make a reservation at guest services however the lineups are long. Shows: Shows are great especially the water/circus show at the pool The mexican show was fantastic and the Michael Jackson show so entertaining. We have stayed at 2 Krystal grand hotels now and this one definitely has the better entertainment. Entertainers are very talented. The kids loved them too. Only recommendation since we have stayed at other Krystal grand hotels 1. The snack bar should have fish tacos - didn't have them here. 2. Didn't find any guacamole this entire trip :( 3. Entertainment at this Krystal was fantastic! 4. Rooms on the 8th floor are the best?

This is a small, clean hotel who's staff are lovely and helpful. The food is ok for a 4-4.5 star hotel, surprisingly the Buffet for breakfast and lunch was great. You must make reservations for the restaurants since the Buffet isn't open at night. Room service is free so that was a plus. Disappointed that the Azul restaurant closed on the 2nd night we were there and only found out from another guest. It wasn't worth paying for a penthouse room since it just had a higher ceiling but paying for the adults only pool above the Buffet was the highlight of our trip. Service by Nacho and his colleague was fantastic as was the food up there. Beach is big and lovely. Ocean has a little bit of an undertow. The restaurants food wasn't great....couldn't make pizzas well and the pasta was very sweet. It's a cute little hotel with peacocks roaming around which was lovely. Ocean View room was great but being on the 9th floor/penthouse was nothing special.

Our stay was amazing. We loved the resort and the people that worked there.

I could look at just the mountains all day but add in the ocean as our comfy stay at this wonderful resort and it was bliss.We were smart to listen to our travel agent regarding Sunscape PV. The people are so nice and professional and hard-working. The food was delicious, room service flexible and prompt, cleaners were impeccable. The city is full of art and history and my family of four felt so safe and welcome. It boggles my. Ind how many people are multi-lingual! The sights and sounds and smalls of the Pacific Ocean are addictive and I miss it so much. Will be back!

After first day here my wife got very ill vomiting all night and diarrhea she had to stay at resort most days. Many, many other reports of sickness amongst other guests, the friends we went with also both got sick. Nice view from room, lovely area easy to take water taxi/bus, food was good, tasty but some food was only Luke warm at buffet. Staff friendly. Bed very comfortable and nice spacious clean room. Nice view from buffet of beach. Nice pool. However Hotel really needs to address sanitation and food safety/hygiene, Would not stay here again.
