Highly Recommend for size and Entertainment!
Upon arriving at this destination, the feeling of almost coming home was the most accurate description. The buildings were clean on the outside and inside. Rooms were comfortable and clean with exceptional house keeping services and never a shortage of fresh bottled water in the rooms along with toilet paper and fresh towels everyday. The resort is small, therefore only a short walk to all it has to offer from even the most far away buildings. The grounds of the resort were very well maintained and the staff was always friendly and greeted you, always a smile. The Entertainment Staff was above and beyond in providing guests with interactive games, dancing and various exercise classes. There was never a time you did not see the Entertainment Staff with beautiful smiles on their faces, they worked very hard to ensure that each activity was planned perfect and interactive with the crowd. The beach activity staff was out everyday showing people how to play beach games and talking with everyone. The Entertainment Crew made all guests feel important and valued. They were fun, creative and willing to help at any time. Best Entertainment Staff I have encountered while on vacation thus far. The pool area was great, separate pool for swim up bar, kiddies pool and water sports pool. Very clean, lots of chairs and shade. The Beach was amazing. There are tons of fish to see around the walk out peer, so take your snorkels! There is seaweed in the water about 50 feet from shore, but still room to get wet, sit in your floatie and enjoy. The beach bar is awesome, friendly beach staff and very clean. Lots of shells to collect and the walk down the beach is incredible on the pure white sand. There is WIFI around the resort, sometimes it disconnected when you left your location, but you could reconnect easily. The food at this resort was the best yet. Always fresh vegetables at every meal, tons of yummy fresh bread and butter. Lots of local seasonal fruit and seasonal vegetables available. Omelets, crepes and French toast every morning, no bacon at this resort. Always fresh soup of the day, fresh fish for frying, pasta was amazing (Barilla) there was a poutine night, Mexican Night, fresh pork, turkey, chicken, beef, lamb and fish. This was a great buffet with tons of food. All common areas were clean, well maintained and comfortable. They had working flushes in common areas that were well stocked, excellent condition with toilet seats, toilet paper, hand soap and very clean. The lobby was a great place to go and relax whether in the morning or after sunset. There was live music each night and a mini disco for the little ones before they went to bed. They always gave a sneak preview of the evening show so guests could get excited about the event. Lobby bar staff very kind, great staff that made an awesome expresso, hot or cold coffee and just about any alcohol drink you could ask for. This is the first place I have travelled to in Cuba that I would consider coming back to. The over all experience was incredible, everyone so kind, helping and entertaining. Definitely will be a repeat visitor!

Not a great place to stay and waste of money
I recently stayed at StarFish hotel, and it was hands down the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Here's why: 1. Bed Bugs The room was infested with bed bugs. I woke up covered in bites and had to spend the rest of my trip itching and scratching. Clearly, this hotel doesn't prioritize cleanliness or pest control. 2. Horrible Sanitation The room itself was filthy. The bathroom reeked of mildew, the towels were stained, and the floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Even the sheets were suspect, with visible stains that made me question whether they were even changed before my arrival. 3. Cockroaches in the Buffet The buffet was a complete health hazard. I spotted cockroaches crawling near the food trays. It's absolutely unacceptable for a place serving food to guests. I didn't dare eat there again for fear of getting food poisoning. 4. Spoiled, Unhelpful Staff The staff was shockingly unprofessional and entitled. They outright refused to assist with basic requests unless tips were offered upfront. This is not hospitality—it's extortion. Their rude attitude and lack of service made the stay even worse. 5. Poor Maintenance Everywhere The entire property was in disrepair. Broken fixtures, peeling paint, and a musty odor throughout the hotel made it clear that upkeep is not a priority. Overall, this was a complete waste of money. I can't stress enough how terrible this hotel is. Stay far, far away if you value your health, safety, and sanity.

Gem for beach and staff
Previously Melia Cayo Guillermo, re opened dec 2024. It was closed for almost a year, and staff worked very hard to clean it up. DIVE CENTER few steps away ;-) Great for : Beach is amazing, long, clean, seaweed is pickup every morning, new beach chairs. Long walks possibles in both directions with amazing sand. Pool is great, clean, and cute with little bridges Staff is absolutely amazing, kind, smiling and hard working. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. ( Yurguy and his team ) Lobby is clean Looby bar has a good drink selection Pool bar is 24h Bedroom clean and smell nice, with new AC unit and new mini fridge Massages are amazing at good price, with a twist of physio therapy ( Carlos ) Okay / Need improvements : Music a bit too loud at the pool in my opinion Front desk / no one has no change , difficult to find change to tip the staff Bathtub in my bedroom is old , need replacement Missing toaster / toast / eggs / potatoes in breakfast Food are expected for Cuba, bring your favorite essentials seasonnings Need more groundskeepers picking up flying out plastic cups ( very windy week) Got a wifi ticket 4h duration, for free, can use it in the lobby. Renewable on demand. Safes in the room are supposed to work with same key as main door, but it won't work. Bring a small lock and store your valuables in your luggage. Not great for : Public bathrooms : Very clean but sometimes missing toilet paper and are not flushing all the time ( I had to switch stalls ) Plumbing might need attention and water flow seems to be momentarily cutted off. Also the doors knobs not closing properly. Inaccurate : Some travelling agency need to update the description of this hotel Not adult 18 only, kids are welcome No Coffee in bedroom Safe is free but ain't working Wifi is free, 4h duration per coupon, in lobby only No Gym Conclusion : This is not a recent built resort, actually it is probably 25 years old. So don't expect the same fancyness as competitors But staff makes it very enjoyable. Will go again as it ticks my bucket list for great beach and accessible dive center.

Nothing but the BEST - until the very end
On this 6th trip of mine to Cuba, (second to Cayo Coco), I experienced (with my daughter, and best friend) kindness beyond measure. Canadian people are good and well but the Cuban people show resiliency at every step, they take pride in their work, they show gratitude, are thoughtful and somehow they continue to maintain hope. We stayed at the Mojito from January 31 to February 7th and were three of the last seven clients to leave the resort. We made friends Cuban and Canadian...(and feline, Eva named 25 cats.) Until the very, very last second we were treated with love, kindness, and special treatment. With a very uncertain future ahead, somehow, some way they went above and beyond. With an hour left until the resort shut down power and we shuttled out for the airport, we last 7 customers were served a plated beautiful lobster dinner, with wine and friendliness. The beach was gorgeous, the ocean warm (we even found a conch shell) The resort was clean, our chambermaid Annia always had a smile for us and did a great job. The gardeners surprised us with a woven basket, a beautiful hat woven from palm tree leaves, other grounds folk made my child a little grasshopper, and a fish on a fishing rod. Daily we watched as they worked so very hard, so many many hours. We did not learn everyones names but the chef's did a great job, we had wonderful chicken, pasta, and fresh omlettes and french toast every day. At the pool side bar we enjoyed tasty sandwiches and hotdogs. Soup, I never thought I'd have soup in Cuba (but global warming had temperatures hit the lowest ever) soup was awesome, I tried 4 types. As always fresh soft bread, good salads, and fresh made to order smoothies with breakfast. I went to the cigar bar one night, and it was wonderful, truly (comparable to a ski chalet feel at a fancy place in Blue Mountain) We had a lovely hot tub near the gym one afternoon, my daughter played basket ball, and worked out in the gym, and learned to play Dominos from Yoan an entertainment staff member. We learned a few dance moves, played giant Chess, played bingo (wonderful way to learn numbers in Spanish (or russian, if your only language is english) My daughter did some karaoke, special shout out to Kellie/Callie for being awesome as well as another young entertainment lady from Moron. My bestie took the bus to the Cave bar accompanied by staff and other hotel guests, and was safely taken care of, thank you Yoan for making sure my girl was safe (her first trip away from North America). The front desk accomodated my only request which was to have a groundfloor room for easy access, and our beds and pillows were comfortable. The specialty coffee's at the bar in the lobby were amazing, probably shouldn't have consumed 4 before 11am one day but, hey it's vacation. The a la carte restaurant had a yummy muscle appetiser, and some fresh fried fish with mashed potatoes and veggies and Chocolate icecream. (thank you) Staff were given very short notice of closure (picture "hey btw as of tomorrow you have no means of money we are closing) and yet somehow, somehow they put on brave faces and just kept going. I am not so brave, I can't say in their place I could have kept composure and I cried many times those last two days. Not for me, not for how vacation was ending, for the best people I have met in Cuba, for their uncertainty of what will happen . Every trip I have taken to Cuba has been special, but this trip to Mojito was something I will NEVER forget, I hope with all my heart for the safety, and health of the Cubans. Our only issue was not with Mojito it was with the booking company/airline and their lack of information, contacting us, letting us know what to do etc. We were told everyone was leaving the resort at 4pm Friday, except those flying out Friday. We packed and checked out and bussed to Sol. Waited about 2 hours at Sol to learn they had no space for us, but we could "call a cab for $45 CAD to get back to Mojito... Mojito less than a kilometer away. We waited a bit and google maped where it was and then us two women and a child dragged our luggage the kilometer down the street back to Mojito. The staff put us back into a room (double the cleaning for them as our room had already been cleaned, the fridge and TV removed for closure etc, again double shout out to Annia - none of us knew, no thanks to airline)
