We had a great stay at the HZRM and observed the facelift with the swim out rooms, changes to the bathrooms, lobby and grounds. If it had been my first time here I wouldn't have compared so I'll simply comment on the now. Resort seems understaffed in the restaurants so servers are working their butts off. Food is amazing! Outdoor events could be handled differently where you can't be seated until your whole party arrives. Italian restaurant needs table cloths and more Italian ambiance/influence. More chairs and umbrellas/trees needed at the beach. Resort was very clean, beds were comfortable and all the amenities are available in the bathrooms. I prefer that daily activities are posted in a few places around the resort as I don't use my phone on vacation. I missed most of the activities because of this. I suggest to join the resort FB page as it's very handy to give/get info before and during your stay. I was disappointed that there was no Yoga during our stay [Details]

Beautiful, quiet rooms. Great food and choices. Silent disco was a great idea but most didn't know about it. Clean and well manicured grounds. Easy check in and out. Great cafe and lots of quiet places to sit.
The weak points
Not enough restaurant staff, guest services could be more helpful, drinks like cocktails were just ok and seemed watered down, daily activities need to be posted in several places or printed each day for folks who don't use the app. More chairs on beach

When we arrived we were greeted with much enthusiasm and hospitality. Check in was quick and when shown to the room the concierge was very thorough with instructions. Room: clean, comfortable. We were in room 230 with a tropical view. This was a convenient location to the pool and a short walk to lobby area. Beds and pillows were excellent. Food and drink: the buffet is the only breakfast option outside of room service however many good things to choose from. We ate here every day with no complaints. At peak times it did take a bit to get coffee refilled however all staff were pleasant and helpful. We found the other 3 restaurants delicious with awesome service. The portions are smaller but never prevented us from ordering multiple items. The tempest restaurant was very warm however so we only ate there once with the regular menu and once with tepanyaki. We would have done tepanyaki again however found it just too warm. The beach restaurant was popular for lunch so service took a while Every staff member preparing and serving food and drinks wore hair nets We had a severe gluten allergy in our group. The staff were very conscientious and checked regularly with them to ensure he knew what he could eat. He did not have cross contamination and get ill once on our trip. There were many many options for him and he was very impressed with the quality and taste of all the gluten free options. Drinks were sadly inconsistent. We found every order different however we found if we tipped at the start of our pool day to one bartender and made a habit to visit them they were more than willing to take instructions on making specific drinks. They were watered down in the pool area probably to prevent overdrinking however the lobby bar and sports bar drinks were better. The coffee shop was awesome! Pool area was kept nice and clean. Getting a lounger was challenging however if we noticed an hour with no occupant security was willing to remove the towel. The beach area was clean and off the row of hotels in the area was the nicest. Entertainment was fantastic…cruise like quality with lots of options. Because the resort is smaller the vibe of the resort depends on the people. The first 5 days we were there it was a quiet older crowd, the last 4 was a few groups of younger couples who liked to have a good time so the pool was a bit wilder and the evenings were lively. We enjoyed both types. Overall highly recommend this smaller resort. [Details]

We wanted a relaxing, adults only resort in a beautiful setting with good food for a girls' trip, and Hyatt Zilara checked all the boxes! We felt right at home and enjoyed our week-long stay very much. The staff was incredible and so friendly. While a smaller resort, it was perfect for us since we just wanted to relax. Calm, relaxing resort that felt exclusive while not making it seem like guests are in different "tiers". Great staff, including entertainment team and concierge, super friendly chefs and servers.
The weak points
Because it is on the small side we might have enjoyed one or two more food options by the end of the week, but generally no complaints.

Some of the bathrooms around the resort had broken paper towel dispensers and no other option for drying hands, which wasn't ideal. Otherwise, the resort seemed very clean and sanitary.

The resort is beautiful, rooms are very nice, staff are extremely friendly and will go out of their way to help you. Pool area and pool bar are well maintained and the place to be on hot days, no issues getting towels or chairs. Drinks were fantastic, such a great variety. Bartenders were very good, making you whatever you wanted, Pasion fruit mojito , mango Pina colada, etc Beach had a lot of seaweed, even with daily cleaning, it kept coming in, but still very nice. The hotel was lovely. The people were lovely food was about a seven out of 10. The beach was a little rough due to the Highwinds very hot. I found there was only one handicap stall in the hotel. Most of the stalls are very small so it's very difficult for someone of a larger size to get in and the doors. also swing in instead of swing out they might wanna think about that . They need more hooks in the rooms to hang things on. Also a book to let them know where things are what has to be reserved. The numbers to room service or the front desk or concierge. I know we have the app, but a lot of people older people don't know how to use it, don't get what they want out of it. Room service was excellent. They went out of their way for myself. We had a most relaxing trip which is just what we wanted. The ambience of the resort is calm but not boring as there are plenty of activities offered. The beach was good for swimming which we appreciated. The pool area had enough loungers and attentive waiters. We came here for our honey . The facility is spotless and the staff are very polite , kind and professional. The time we spent was very good. The quality of the food is very good the variety can be improved. The entretainement is good but sometimes was a bit off. Like saturday was very quiet I was expecting a bit more for the weekend. The overall experience was excellent . I really enjoyed the experience and I would still come back next time. The only thing I thing you should avoid is the optional stuff that keeps on adding like cabana... that should be free but on reservation for example. I wouldnt mind paying a bit more but not having on adding here and there. I found it easier to plan budget wise. but I will still come back because the experince was great.
