Great stay, excellent staff. Great food options. Awesome pools and beach access. Would recommend getting priviledge status for additional benefits - in-room service, late checkout, butler service, access to private pool. [Details]

Not 5 star accommodations but 5 star service

We upgraded to privilege at check in $1400 additional total $6000 for one week for two people. After waiting 4 hours after check in the first room had black mold and rust on the sofa. The walls were in very bad shape room 3310. Our butler requested room change where I checked the bed and there were little black bugs, the night manager came and verified room 3216 and we were placed in room 3226, the patio door did not have a lock which I said I felt unsafe staying in a room without a lock on the door. The fan in the bathroom leaked onto the toilet. The food is not 5 star - mediocre at best. Where this resort stands out or shines is the people who work there give 5 star service. The condition of the resort is very worn and concerning but this is beyond the service staff control. [Details]

Honestly, there was nothing “wrong” with the resort, but there is nothing to write home about. It's beautiful, the food at the buffet was good and the entertainment staff was fun. Service was not good, anywhere. If it was at the front desk, the bar, an a la carte restaurant you always felt like you were inconveniencing that person. It was quite off putting for 2 women in their early 30s, tipping everyone and receiving eye rolls when asking for a mixed drink. It could be because I worked in restaurants for years but it just left a very negative feeling. [Details]

Had a great experience at this hotel. Rooms: comfortable/well maintained and spotlessly clean. Food: Delicious, lots of options. Beach: Great use of limited space. Worth the early morning towel/chair game. Water shoes will definitely make the in water experience much better. Service: excellent. Staff: Amazing, hard working, friendly, helpful. Highly recommend! Lovely area, but bad experience

The price was great for a swim up room, so we bought it. When we arrived (Sunday night), no swim up rooms available so we were "upgraded" to a terrace room (top floor with a private terrace above it). We are not tanning folk, so wanted a swim up room like we had paid for. Was told the soonest we could get into a swim up room was Tuesday. 9pm Monday night we were told, no, sorry, no swim up room available until Wednesday (which wouldn't work for us since we had to leave hotel at 630 am for an excursion and would have no where to leave our valuables). So we arranged to move rooms on Thursday, begrudgingly. That night, it rained. A lot. And flooded the landing to the terrace with rain coming down the stairs into the room. Also a drip from the beam above the bed onto my face. Magically at 4am, a swim up room became available. No explanation, no apologies for the inconvenience of being flooded out of our room. While the remainder of the week went well, the starting experience definitely put a sour taste in regards to the resort. [Details]

The area is lovely. Ocean was beautiful. Once we actually got to the swim up room we paid for, it was lovely to sit in our own pool and relax. A la carte restaurants had great meals.
The weak points
Customer service is definitely lacking (described in hotel review in terms of our troubles with the room). As well, went to BBQ joint, and they ran out of ribs, so that was a dissapointment.

Overall it's a really nice resort. Food is pretty good, a la carte restaurants are decent with many options to choose from, Mike's coffee shop was a nice surprise with yummy sandwiches for snacks, smoothies and light desserts. We also enjoyed the ice cream bar!
Entertainment was ok, nice theatre. Liked the bowling but fills up fast in the evenings. Beaches were nice although the water on Oct was a bit rough so mainly used the pools. Stayed at the Eden pool mostly since that had the better music and fun activities. Water park was fun for my skinny 13 year old but she's a bit big for a lot of the slides so she had to push herself along! Ha!
Drinks were tasty but not consistent around the resort so sometimes it was way too strong or sweet so often I would ask for not too sweet. Teen club was not a draw for my 13 and 16 daughters unfortunately. Young boys playing video games, no activities for them in evening. Might be nice to have dance/music parties in the evenings or something. Staff were great.

Tips: Bring a bunch of $1 US bills - nice to tip along the way for good service. Bring mosquito repellant! This suckers were nasty! Bring a reusable insulated cup to keep drinks cold. Bartender fills it up no problem.

Warning, when you arrive the “host” is working for Timeshare and will try to sign you up for a talk with incentives like a private breakfast birthday celebration (lie - it was in the buffet), a pendant, shopping tour to Playa del Carmen for 3 hours (took you to a jewelry factory and tequila place for the first hour) and $80 discount off an excursion(this was good). Took all morning and didn't ever get the free pendant because they ran out of coupons then when we did get one after many times asking then the jewelry store said they needed 24 hours which we didn't have leaving the next afternoon. Too many lies so left a bad taste in our minds. [Details]

Decent vacation experience

My parents and my family of 4 with a toddler and baby visited this resort in June 2023. We had a decent experience with the hotel, food was okay but not amazing. I feel like the same few ingredients were used over and over in all the different restaurants. If you don't book privilege, the only breakfast option is the buffet which gets really old really fast. The AC in the buffet was almost non existent which made eating food and feeding young children very stressful. There were high chairs easily accessible in all restaurants which was nice. My baby overheated and developed a fever and got dehydration and had to stay in the hotel most of the vacation because there was good AC only in the rooms and not too many other places. Room was big and clean and a good quality clean pack and play was provided for the baby. The Daisy pool and Waterpark was great for the toddler and the family time timeslot at the Daisy club was a great safe place where he could run around and play and cool off everyday from 1-2:30pm. I wouldn't come back to this resort again just because we would like to try new resorts, but we appreciated how kid friendly it was. I would have liked more access to hand sanitizer and seen more cleanliness measures at the buffet. [Details]

Everything about this hotel & grounds was great! Only disappointment was the beach. No longer able to walk out in the water & beach in front of resort because over the year it had disappeared because of climate change but this was OK because there is a pool right at the ocean so you do get a nice breeze. There was an great amount of seaweed, but it was all up the coast. [Details]

Weather was great. Experience slightly above average.
Facilities are very good. Enjoyed theatre, bowling alley, multiple pools, gym and tennis courts.
Property is long and narrow (500m) which requires use of shuttle (if older or with kids) to get from Daisy to the beach.
Beach is underwhelming. Small roped off area for swimming and beach is being constantly eroded. [Details]

AVOID, all these 5 star ratings are definitely fake just as the other lady has said. I have been to other all inclusive resorts in Mexico that have been hospitality oriented and amazing, this resort is FAR FROM IT! Upon check in the front desk staff was very unfriendly and acted as if we were a burden, they didn't even crack a smile. We booked 2 rooms and needed 2 beds in each room, our second room got an “upgrade” and when we got there it was 1 king bed and a very dirty old sofa bed with a terrible mattress and no bedding. The front desk staff said there was nothing they could do until the next day so we made it work. After we got the room all switch and straightened out things were ok. The rooms are quite run down and need repairs, replacements, and some TLC. They aren't very clean, we found dead flys lying around, hairs all over and our mini fridge had some drinks that were already opened. I tried for 2 days to get more water and ended up getting help from a super nice blue shirt guy in the lobby named Carlos who got us huge waters, some pop and beer. Our hotel water eventually arrived at 11pm, woke us all up including our baby as he loudly banged on our door. The food is meh at the buffet, not great and the same thing every day. The buffet staff and friendly but really hard to get them to come to your table, I constantly had to waive them down or they would just never come, it was difficult to even get water most days. There are salesman trying to push you into their “membership” or to get a spa service EVERYWHERE. We made the mistake of taking the presentation to get a voucher for excursions, the 90 minutes turned to 120 and the lady Isa was very rude and pushy while the other lady practically begged us to sign up for their $20,000 “membership” which I read later on made most feel scammed, so I am thankful we went with our gut and said no, even with how good it sounded at first. They have a taco stand by the pool some days and my oldest stood in line for tacos, when it was his turn he was completely ignored and the worker went to the man behind him, who thankfully mentioned something and stuck up for my son but he was still passed over and helped after the man behind him, RUDE worker again. The restaurants we tried were good, the hostess at the Italian weren't friendly and the wait was over 30 minutes for a table even though the restaurant has a ton of open tables, they hardly seat anyone and make you wait forever to get in, no idea why. We were really hoping to do a date at the adult only restaurant and it randomly closed without explanation on our only date night so that was extremely disappointing. The trolly to take you around the resort was scarce and never around when you needed it and the workers were rude if you didn't get on exactly where they wanted you to. We stayed in a privilege room on our last night and it was horrible. The bed was old and sagged, the mirrors all filthy, one was missing, the sinks wrecked and resealed with orange goop rather than replaced, the fridge rickety, the dehumidifier barely worked and needed a filter, the AC was hard to get on at all so it was hot, and the decor was terrible, our regular room was much better, and it just reassured our smart decision not to do the membership. We left at 4am on our departure day and went to the lobby to check out; the gentleman at the front was ignorant, rude and completely out of line. Again, it was 4am, i had a small child and a baby, it takes about 20 minutes from our room to the lobby, we made it 5 minutes before our shuttle for the airport was arriving, and i forgot the room keys on the desk. the guy told me i had to go back and get them and i said cant i dont have time i need to board my shuttle but they are there on the desk. he then told me i needed to pay $10 for losing the keys, i refused. he then said when my shuttle arrived he would make me go get the keys and wouldn't let me get on the shuttle. you can imagine my reaction. My fiancee and I recently got back from a friends trip to ORP. We went with two other couples, all mid twenties. We stayed in the El Beso section and had a fabulous time, I wish we could have stayed longer! We loved the El Beso pool and swim up bar, always had great music playing and a fun, laid back atmosphere. Restaurants were great, I really enjoyed all the food I ate there. Staff were all so friendly, always saying hello and smiling, it was such a positive environment. Lots of wildlife to see on the resort grounds as well like coatis and monkeys, which was a really fun feature. For some of our group this was our first all inclusive holiday, and this resort definitely set the bar high for future trips! I would have no problem returning to this beautiful resort! [Details]

The food throughout the rest of the resort was also good. I'd say about 7/10.

Fun time but accommodations could have been better

, Ottawa, ON

The hotel property overall was beautiful. The staff was helpful and the kids club team were very friendly with my son. My son loved the water park and the pool party.

Unfortunately our room wasn't what I was expecting. When we arrived in our room it smelled like mildew and it was very humid. The sheets and towels were very damp. I was told I would need to request a dehumidifier. The dehumidifier helped however I had to call or go to the front desk several times a day to have the dehumidifier emptied. I reported that the dehumidifier was leaking even when it was empty and on the last night housekeeping acknowledged that the dehumidifier was in fact broken, which resulted in my sons running shoes being soaked because of the floor being wet all of the time. I was aware of the humidity in advance but it would have been nice if the dehumidifier was already running in the room when we arrived.

We ordered a pizza and club sandwich from room service. Unfortunately the bread from the sandwich and the pizza crust were stale and we did not end up finishing our meal. At the buffet we reported multiple food allergies (peanuts, tree nuts, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds) and were offered assistance when choosing our meals. The manager asked what foods my son likes to eat and I mentioned cheese burgers to which the manager brought us over to the table only to find that the buns had sesame seeds on them. This is an indication to me that the manager is unaware of which allergens are present in foods.

I attempted to schedule our C-19 test when we arrived but was told appointments weren't necessary but testing started at 9:00 am. At 8:45am I arrived at the room where testing was taking place to find that there was already a long line up. The person responsible for administering the test did not arrive until 9:30am. [Details]

This place is awesome, food, service, staff! We were in privilege so we had a separate restaurant, room service menu and could make reservations at the ala carts. We went during march break which I will never do again, way too busy, had to get up by 8am if you wanted a chair by the pool or beach. We had an infant with us so we needed shade. Lines ups at the ala carts were huge, at least an hour wait, glad we had privilege. Food was very good even at the buffet. Lots of walking, lots of different places to eat and swim, room service excellent. Beach had some rocky spots [Details]

Not the best experience

We have been to Mexico many times and were really excited to try this hotel for our sons first vacation. We were very disappointed when we arrived at the lack of staff and options available. I don't like to leave negative reviews and have been hesitant when reading them from others because there is always something to complain about, however I felt I would try and save someone the headache of coming to this resort.

FOOD - The same foods were served at the buffet every single day, and were often empty. The hotel was fully booked during our stay and one buffet for a resort this size at full capacity was not sufficient. There were no snack bars open besides a place to get crepes (for lunch?). A la cartes are normally a nice treat but at this resort the food was comparable to that at the buffet, maybe worse. The pasta at the Italian was dry and flavourless. The pasta at the buffet was better. There were line ups everywhere and the staff working the pool bars and front desk were not very friendly. We got sick from the food that was available. Our mini fridge was stocked twice during our week long vacation and I had to wait 4 hours one day trying to get them to bring bottled water to our room.

AMENTITIES - The bowling alley setup is a joke. You have to be there at 5 pm and it is first come first served. There were only 2 lanes open and I tried to ask if there was a time limit before someone else got a turn but it sounded like you just have to wait until someone was finished. Again, for a resort this size they should have a better system including time limits until someone else gets a turn. You should also be able to book in for the bowling alley so you can enjoy it at least once during your vacation. We did not get to use it and this was something we were excited to do here.

The childrens pool was good and the kids seemed to enjoy it. The water slides don't have any water pressure and the kids were having to scoot themselves down.

We thought we would be able to take our little guy indoors to the kids club and play with him to get him out of the heat but they were never open and it says on the door exclusively for 4-10 years old. In the pictures advertised it looked like babies could go as well but apparently not!

In the pictures of the resort it looks like there are lots of beach chairs available right at the beach, however they are back quite a ways and only a very small section, so good luck getting a seat at the beach unless you are up at 6 am to go set out a towel. And be careful doing that because we had people move our towels and when we asked them why they said “because we had people do it to us yesterday and we wanted to sit here.” [Details]

The strong points
The cleaning staff are awesome and doing a great job of cleaning the rooms. Many of them don't speak English but are friendlier than the staff in other areas of the resort that do. The drinks are really good and they make the best margaritas.
The weak points
Food. Service. Activities/Restaurants advertised were not open. Hugely understaffed. They should not have booked the hotel at full capacity if they did not have the staff to appropriately accommodate their guests.

This hotel is not a 4.5 star it is a 2 at best. The buffet was the same thing everyday whether it was breakfast lunch or supper. The house keeping staff literally wouldn't replenish water, coffee or fridge items unless asked to and this is something that SHOULD be done without asking! The bar staff was always amazing, very hard to get into any of the other restaurants without having to wait in line for hours. The cleanliness of the grounds was horrible, used dirty masks everywhere. There should be afterhours staff picking garbage and dirty cups up prior to guests waking in the morning. Everything cost more to enjoy, if you aren't signed up to be Privileged then you are like the bottom of the barrel. Was told going to Mexico would be cheaper but in the end my husband and I could have gone to Hawaii, ate at good restaurants every night, had clean resorts for the same amount. Super disappointed and we are far from "highend" people but this was bad. [Details]

Greaat Resort - Horrible Spa

, Toronto, ON

I stayed 4 days at this resort. The staff was mostly great. They were either extremely helpful, welcoming and happy.. about 10% were absolutely miserable ! Rooms were Great and very clean. Housekeeping sometimes only came in to pick up dirty towels and collect tip ( That may have been due to Covid)
THE SPA WAS HORRIBLE! Rate was high, but we were promised high quality service. The massage was "eh" head massage consisted of twirling fingers around hair, body scrub was a rub down with a rough towel for 2 minutes and Express Facial was a clay mask you had on during the massage

Food was a bit bland considering it is Mexico - I expected some flavour, but still not horrible. Japanese restaurant was amazing, Steakhouse is not worth it, half of us couldn't even eat the meal they served.
Monkey Sanctuary on Site was a huge bonus! so amazing to watch.

We ended up getting incredible massages on the beach for $35US for 1 hour by people that were advertising on the beach ( not with the Resort - I highly recommend instead of the On Site Spa) They can be reached at 529841388261

Overall I enjoyed my stay... but If I go back, it would be for the Monkeys! [Details]
