Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf And Spa Rst

We recently vacationed at the Secrets Playa Mujeres in a Preferred Club Junior Suite Ocean view room.
As a Preferred Club guest, you avoid the main desk and are taken down to the main resort area to the Preferred Club room for drinks and snacks and the check-in is done for you by guest services. What a treat not waiting in line. As a Preferred Club guest, you many perks that are worth the extra cost. You will be asked to join a presentation for a couple of hours to try and sell you a membership to have access to all the Hyatt resorts. After the presentation you are not bothered by anyone again to join. It is your choice. For some people that are frequent travelers to Secrets resorts it might be worth it.
Our room was spacious and beautiful with a jet tub in the washroom and one on the balcony as well. I'm sure the maids are in the room several times to clean, replenish the refrigerator and turndown service in the evening. The buffet breakfast and lunch have a great variety of delicious food to choose from. Every restaurant for lunch has delicious food. Oceana has great seafood. Barefoot Grill by the pool for burgers, fries Guac and chips. In the evening you can dine at many of the a la carte restaurants. Each with its own dining experience. Our favorite was the Portofino Italian and the Himitsu Asian. The liquor and beer are all top label beverages.
The resort is large and takes a couple of days to get familiarized with. Golf carts are always available to move you around to where you need to go. You have access to the Dreams resort as well. On the resort tipping is preferable in USD.
The beach is beautiful with sand like sugar. The pool is large and has daily entertainment. The staff is always asking if you need any more drinks or food, so you don't even have to leave your lounge chair. Lounge chairs! You better get towels on them by 7 am every morning or the best one will be taken. There is an abundance of fresh towels every day, so you never run out. This resort is like a well-oiled machine and is a 5-star all the way.
We did a day trip to the Isla Mujeres that was a lot of fun. I recommend taking a taxi to the Ultramar Ferry terminal (credit card or MX Pesos) and take the ferry over to the island. Once you are on the island rent a golf cart for a few hours to travel around the island. We had lunch at the Luna Grill which was great [Details]

This was our 2nd time to the resort.
Exceptional friendly staff throughout the resort who try their very best to ensure you have a great vacation.
Lots of activities available if you want to participate.
The resort is like new and well maintained.
The food was excellent. Bonus to have access to restaurants at Dreams next door. Gaucho Grill was excellent!
Great never to make reservations for any of the restaurants or having to wear a wrist band.
House wines were decent.
Entertainment was excellent. Plenty of talented live music and the evening shows were great.
The beach is perfect for walking long distances and was clear of seaweed unlike the Mayan Riviera which unfortunately gets tons more washing up. [Details]

The staff are 5*, the hotel is a bit dated but well kept. Beach is beautiful, pool is quite chilly. We upgraded to Preferred when we got there and if you like the beach, it is worth it. Just go! So worth it. Hotel next door is much larger and it was nice to go over and eat and swim in their pools. [Details]

2nd time staying at S.P.M. and enjoyed it as much as our first time. Resort is a good size and also allows for use at the Dreams resort next door. Food is excellent, never disappointed. Staff are fantastic at the restaurants and poolside. Always helpful. [Details]

This was the worse vacation we have been on . The hotel has no respect for those booked in at resort. Shooting on the beach was very scary,sure was not a relaxing vacation. Hotel management never made attempt in regards to our safety or explain what was going on.After money its was a daily accurrence to see the police on the beach.
Food was awful. I was sick after eating at the Italian Restaurant and was husband was sick after eating at the Seaside Grill.
I would never recommend this resort to anyone. [Details]

I've stayed at this property twice and have been to almost all Secrets resorts and this one is most definitely my favorite.

The food is amazing, the french onion soup at the French restaurant is a must order.

The pool is heated (which is great in the cooler months, not so great when it's hot out!). And you don't have to worry about getting a good seat. There are great seating available at the pool and the beach no matter what time of day you go down. [Details]
