Not a 5 star resort!

, Nakusp, BC

4 star at best with adults only section. Great service! Good food. Big, clean rooms with adequate toiletries. AC worked well. Our swim up room was nice. Check in was easy. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE A BEACH PERSON. You will be disappointed. There's an adults only section with its own pool and swim up bar. No problem getting seating at 8 am. Restaurants were good. Mikes coffee bar was excellent! Ice cream parlor was excellent! Creperie was excellent! It is a LARGE resort with lots of walking, but we were ok with this. There is a tram that goes to/from lobby to beach all day There were lots of kids at the buffet and restaurants and beach, but none at the adults section. I would not pay a penny more than what we did. Prob won't return because of beach. [Details]

The strong points
Good food in buffet. Great food in a la carte restaurants. AC works well. Clean and comfy rooms. Resort is nice but not spectacular. Sports bar to watch hockey play offs !!! Our server, Irene, at our swim up room(1106)was excellent!!!!
The weak points
No beach! Had to pay extra for top shelf alcohol. Mini bar is poorly stocked, but restocked once per day. Had to make reservations for a la carte restaurants. Could only eat in them once per 7 day stay.
Sanitary measures
Clean. Wildlife was getting into garbage cans and there was some scattered trash.

Great Value Resort

We went with another couple, we're in our 50's, lots of children and families plus older people, very nice to see kids enjoying themselves, The El Beso is a bit of an adult party area, the Eden would be where we'd recommend. The Daisy was great for little kids. We really enjoyed it and would go back. The fire show is a must see. Guests were mostly Canadians when we were there. We lucked out on weather, perfect every day. Very nice staff. [Details]

First time at this hotel

To me a good nights sleep is very important and at this hotel the beds are super comfortable. My wife and I loved that our room key was a bracelet. This way we never forget it in our room. [Details]

The strong points
Room keys are on our wrist Beds are super comfortable Food was as good as anywhere else
The weak points
The pool bottom is soo rough we had to wear shoes to avoid scraping our feet. The sea is so far from the rooms and there is barely any chairs to sit. The beach is all washed away. What you see in the photos is not the beach that is there now.

Great Time

The food at the a la cartes are amazing. Special mentions to the following people: The server, Jesus, at the Blue Moon loves his job and shows it in how he takes care of his patrons. Judith at the the privilege pool is always smiling and has patience with everyone. Jose at the privilege lounge is very kind and courteous. This was our first time and we enjoyed our stay tremendously. [Details]
