Puerto Vallarta
The rooms were very nice and the walk-in shower spacious. The food in the resort was, in comparison to many other resorts, meager. 8 main dishes, two soups a 12 tray salad bar and small, repetative desert selection) liqour was lower end and no activities to speak of, coupled with extensive construction.no specialty restaurants (contrary to ads) and sometimes spotty service. When you did get served, they were very nice. Mexican night was very nice but understaffed.Kids club and gym were being blocked off for construction.two bars on the beach and long lines. Coffee bar in lobby was only open from mid afternoon to early evening. 2nd restaurant (at beach) was minimal and food substandard. Cold burgers, small salad bar and a few entrees that were ok. In my opinion, not the best value for the money. [Details]

The hotel was to be 4 stars however was a 2 star. Food cold no matter what time you went to eat. The same food every day like they just recycled it.Got into the hotel at 7:00 in the morning however not given the band to use the restaurant until after noon. The pressure to go to a timeshare presentation where they wanted your credit card information if you wanted the discount on any excursions. One restaurant was never open during the stay. Gym equipment broken so could not use it. This was the worst experience at an all inclusive vacation in Mexico. Definitely not worth the money we paid. [Details]

Let's see... If you are looking for somewhere that has a night life, this is NOT the place, it becomes a ghost town around 7/8pm at which point if you want to continue to drink the only place available is a little bar in the lobby. Also, no wifi by the pools, only in or close the the main buildings. Our 1st, 2nd and 3rd days we had a leak in the bathroom, they finally fixed it only to have the sink and shower backup as we used them. It took forever to get luke warm water to shower, never hot, and never cold water for brushing teeth. There was a chunk of tile missing in the middle of the floor, if you don't see it you smash your toe in it. We were supposed to have a garden view, but ended up with a garbage and parking lot view. Seen 3 huge cockroachs on 3 different days, albeit dead, but still there. Food was definitely nothing to write home about. 2.5 stars is being generous [Details]

My 11 yr old son and I just enjoyed a fantastic stay at the Krystal Puerto Vallarta. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was good, and location was perfect. We loved the beach, pool, and ocean view room. We would be happy to return again in the future. Thank you to all the staff who helped to make our stay so awesome! [Details]

There's just so many things wrong with this Hotel, I don't know where to start. First off I was sent to my from without a key to my room, My room was on the 19th floor, the front desk sent someone with me to open the room door, but left us right after we left the front desk. We took the elevator at this time to the 19th floor, we thought the door would be open because the front desk didn't give of a key and the fellow who was with us left us standing there. Well the door was locked, so I left my friend at the door to wait for me so I could go down to the front desk and ask for a key. On the way down the elevator broke down and I was stuck in the elevator with 5 other people with no lights. tow of the men forced the doors open, it was stuck between floors, we couldn't get out so they closed the doors, then someone from outside banged on the doors, they pulled the doors open again and someone was there with a ladder, it was stuck half way between floors we climbed down the latter out of the elevator. I then walked down the stairs to the ground floor and went to the lobby to get my key. This time they told me the power was off and I had to wait for they to get my key programed. I should tell you there was a hurricane the day before, the airlines cancelled the flight, so I lost a day of my holidays right at the start, I'm not complaining about the day I lost, I'm complaining about them still sending me here when things are still effected from the hurricane. Is this what the world is coming to, the airlines still sending you there the day after a hurricane to a hotel not ready for there guess. I have so many more things to complain about but I'll only tell you one more, the entertainment stinks, what entertainment. It's a good place to practice your Spanish because 99% of the people here are Mexican, not that there's anything wrong with Mexicans. I have been to many all inclusive and this is the worst. Facility was overall clean and well kept. Had to approach house keeping daily to get 2 bottles of water for 3 people staying in room. The resort layout was not well planned but functionable. Big lobby with very little seating. Too few old worn beach chairs. The buffet food was good for the first few days but got old fast with the same thing day after day. Tried a couple close restaurants and they were horrible and pricey. [Details]

I first want to say that the hotel it self was clean, and the staff were friendly.
The food that was served was OK. Not great but not Horrible either.
Room: The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable. There was a good size closet, but there was not storage for clothing.
I was not happy as for 3 of the 7 nights I was there, they were changing tiles in the hallway. When I say that " 9 AM for 3 days they were jackhammering the floor 15 feet from my door" I would have appreciated a warning that it was going to be that way.
The beach was very nice, the pools were on the smaller size, and there was a definite shortage of beach chairs and well as chairs/lounge chairs around the pool.
There was no entertainment other than music played around the pool area.
This hotel should rated a good 3 star. It falls short of the 4 star it is advertised as. [Details]

The Krystal doesn't seem to care about you once you arrive there. We were 3 guests in a 2 bed suite and every day instead of giving us 3 towels and 3 water bottles, we received 2 and I had to argue with them every day just to get the other towel or water bottle. The pool towels (we were not sure they existed!!) every day we went to get a towel for the pool they were "out". Booking the meals at the a la carte restaurants was such a chore it was hardly worth it (although a very welcome reprieve from the buffets). That said, the buffets were definitely geared to north Americans, with hardly any authentic Mexican food. The buffets were pretty much the same every day and it just wasn't very good food. Fortunately we still had an amazing vacation, but I wouldn't recommend this resort. [Details]

We only lasted one night at this resort. We paid for a standard room in the old billing (closest to everything) and requested a ground level room. When we got there we were located in the new building (farthest from everything) on the 22nd floor. We had no one help us with our bags and to find our room. After getting to our room we realized this wasn't going to work for us. As we left the room to go request to be moved to the old building we noticed the hallway flooding with water. We reported it and they moved us to the old building no problem. Unfortunately the room they relocated us to was infested with mold (visibly growing everywhere and smelt so bad), the patio door lock was broken, the safe was broken and the bathroom sink and wall was leaking water. After our entire first day was spent dealing with room changes we decided this resort was not for us and requested a resort change. [Details]

Evening departure flight with hotel check out at noon so we had a long wait at the resort and weren't allowed to keep our all inclusive wristbands to eat lunch. 3. Unable to swim in the pool, swimming pool was not heated. 4. Request for late check out denied. 5. Husband got sick with stomach flu. 6. Paid more for this vacation than we should have. [Details]

The hotel staff are amazing, the cleaning can be improved. They always forgot to give us something after they cleaned the room. The mini fridge was never stocked, they told us to go to Walmart to stock it. The food was bland and repeating. Not all restaurants were open which was disappointing. The a la carts weren't easily accessible for bookings. Overall it's a decent place but it was overpriced for what we ended up with. The rooms are small and could use a good cleaning and paint job. Wonderful older property in the North Hotel Zone, short taxi from the airport. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend paying for the upgrade to Oceanview as we were on the 12th with unobstructed views of the bay including cruise ships, whales and parasailing.
Food and Beverage: Overall we're happy with the food, there is limited choice with 3 restaurants but that was reflected in what we paid and went into town a few times for dinner. Breakfast and lunch were both wonderful, lots of choice and the seating is beside the ocean. The 2 beach bars were not too busy during the week but got busier as the weekend approached. We tipped the staff well (100 - 200 pesos day) and found we were getting drinks delivered to our palapa and beach chairs which was amazing. Can't say enough about how friendly and attentive the staff are at Krystal.
Pool and Beach: Playa del Oro is a beautiful long beach perfect for long walks and swimming in the ocean. Probably not the best beach for small children to swim in but the pools make up for that.
Overall: highly recommended for a 7 day trip. It's good value and good service. A solid 4 star resort. [Details]

This resort continues to operate in a sort of “post-Covid” mode. Two of the three restaurants were closed and buffets were on some sort of rotating schedules… which would have been okay if it was clearly posted or explained. The staff were trying the best they could but with only limited options there were many line-ups to get into buffets and bar lines. With the price we paid to stay at this resort we expected no less… the sun was hot and the beer was cold. [Details]

First the good: Location is good, the rooms on the higher in the tower have beautiful views of the ocean and the grounds; rooms are clean... Now the not so good...the all inclusive is a waste of money - there are only 4 restaurants in the entire project almost always 1 at least is closed all the time, 3 are buffets where the food was MESSY and not prepared or presented in an appealing way! Every "vat" was filled with mostly unrecognizable mixtures, they may have been chicken, pork, beef or seafood some vegetables, most not labelled - hard to tell what it might be! The smell in the restaurants was off putting as well. I found the food to be terrible in all three of the buffet restaurants. There is one Italian restaurant on the property, food and service there was ok, however, you had to be at the property between 5-6 pm to make a reservation and you had to walk all the way down to beach restaurant to make the reservation. It could not be done by phone or at the front desk...WHAT the heck is that???? I mostly went away from the property for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I found trying to get answers or even getting a towel on the beach often frustrating. Chairs and umbrellas on the beach where almost non existent and at the pool many needed many repairs or seemed very dirty. Of all the staff I spoke to, around 20 over my 1 week stay...3 were outstanding they went out of there way to help. The rest seemed disinterested and snippy! I would not recommend HOWEVER this review will not post unless I recommend so I picked Clubs and partying which I did not see or do. [Details]

Close proximity to the airport made for easy transfer… But checked in after 11 PM and was unable to get any bottled water or face clothes that day
Beach area was large but lounge chairs were minimal so setting your alarm clock extra early to claim chairs is crucial… But not enjoyable on a vacation
Tower view was pretty from the 22nd floor… But rooms are very minimal lacking many amenities most four stars have
Had to call down every evening upon returning to the room for towel refresh, water and had two days with no cleaning service at all
The Italian restaurant was okay … The best food we had was lunch at the Vellas restaurant by beach everything else was extremely disappointing and we ended up eating downtown… As well as purchasing some liquor Costco because the bar selection was awful with the exception of the white wine which was enjoyable
The staff at the restaurants were amazing… The management at the restaurants were over bearing and miserable… Tried to ask where the bathroom was and was shoed away by one of the managers because he took a phone call on his cell. And often heard them disciplining the staff which was uncomfortable and I'm sure demeaning to them
The grounds were very pretty and clean
In definite need of some renovations and updates… The tower that we stayed in was newer but was definitely lacking some finishing touches
One bar to service the entire resort for the pool front and beach area was ridiculous
A couple of the restaurants were closed while we were there offering very little choices
Bar fridge in the tower rooms but completely empty… I have never been to a resort that's all inclusive that had zero offerings in the fridge
If this resort was on sale for a very cheap price and I knew what I was getting into I would say go because the beach area and travel distance to the airport is great … but it ends there [Details]

So we went to this hotel expecting a four-star, I would read it as a 2 1/2 to 3*. The service and staff were wonderful. We stayed in the old hotel in front of the beach which was a perfect location, very convenient access to the beach. The bed was very uncomfortable and hard, they do not serve drinks until noon which was surprising. There was no fridge in our room or an ice machine available which was inconvenient. It was very basic, no frills. The food was ordinary and some of the restaurants on site were closed. The only restaurant that was available was the Italian restaurant. The service there wasn't very good as two out of our three orders were wrong and it was not busy at all. They ran out of Mojito‘s at the bar for a couple of days. All in all I would not go back to that hotel unless it was a very reasonable price as we expected much more for it being a four-star and what we have had in the past. [Details]

We stayed her for one week and really enjoyed it. Beautiful location right on the beach. Pictures are very accurate. The staff was exceptional. The protocols in place for covid were of high standards. Weekends seem to be more of a party place. The rooms were very loud. Could hear everything going on. Food was very average and not much selection. It was very surprising and disappointing that being in Mexico, not one time was there guacamole at any food service. Overall, satisfied. Probably wouldn't choose to stay here again just because of noise and partying. [Details]

Our stay at the Krystal was awesome. Although the air conditioner didn't put out in main room the one in bedroom worked great. The staff (all of them) is happy friendly and always willing to help. We will stay here again and recommend it to others. [Details]

Krystral regular review
In my opinion, not the best value for the money. [Details]
Poor hotel
More hotel efforts needed
Definitely not a 4 star as mentioned
Krystal Puerto Vallarta
Decent resort but won't return
Pass this resort

Great staff
Overall good
Sunwing
It was Ok
[Details]
Disappointed
Cons: food was not at the caliber we have experienced at other all-inclusive resorts. Pool bathrooms and chaise lounges not cleaned regularly. [Details]
Definately NOT a 4 star!
Fortunately we still had an amazing vacation, but I wouldn't recommend this resort. [Details]

Mexico Trip
Nice place . Cannot rate 4 star
Krystal Puerto Vallarta
[Details]
Krystal Vallarta
Resort operating at reduced capacity
Terrible
would not recommend this resort. [Details]
Overall - Very Disappointing
Not 4 stars
Not a 4star
Krystal Hotels and Resorts Vallarta
Weekends seem to be more of a party place. The rooms were very loud. Could hear everything going on. Food was very average and not much selection. It was very surprising and disappointing that being in Mexico, not one time was there guacamole at any food service.
Overall, satisfied. Probably wouldn't choose to stay here again just because of noise and partying. [Details]
Low review
No comfortable chairs on balcony, lobby. Bar in lobby doesn't open until 3 pm , no where to get coffee or water once buffet is closed. Not many staff understand or speak English. Towels were old and badly frayed. Not enough activities to do and needs a comfortable outdoor seating area. Would not recommend this hotel. [Details]
