This is an experience of a lifetime staying here. The hotel pays homage to its Mexican heritage in the finest ways possible. The Macias family with Gabriel Macias as CEO and Founder has done nothing short of miracles here. The resort itself is set cliff side in Cabo San Lucas about 6km from downtown overlooking Lands End. Every single room and restaurant has Lands End views and it is just stunning. The decor in this resort is where it REALLY shines. It is a Mexican experience to just be here amongst the furnishings and pictures and paintings. The Macias family has laid the blueprint for others to follow. NOTHING and I mean NOTHING has been left out here. There is even a mission church on site that looks right out of a Zorro movie and authentic in every detail. This resort is a treat for the eyes and the senses. The staff couldn't be more on point with asking if you need help and attending to your EVERY detail. Restaurants here finely appointed with wonderful decor as well finely staffed and service is top notch. The food at all restaurants wide and varied with top notch menus in each of the 5 al a carte restaurants and three pool side grill restaurants for each of its three pools. The grill side restaurants attached to each pool are outstand ing in their right. Nothing here has been left to chance and more over this resort will leave you each morning waking up to the views of Lands End feeling like you are in a dream world. This resort is an experience not to missed in coming to Cabo San Lucas. [Details]

We loved this resort! We were a family of 5. A couple of us said “this is the best resort we have ever been to”. It was lovely, clean & staff were also lovely and very friendly! Pools were awesome! Food was fantastic! We were able to watch whales from the pools! No beach there. But we were fine with that. [Details]

The strong points
Food, Staff, cleanliness, beauty, a la carts were fantastic! Pools were awesome! There is a lovely church on site if you want to attend a Sunday service. Excellent value for your $ with an all inclusive!!!
The weak points
Lots of walking and lots of uphills. If you have compromised mobility, this could be an issue. But we loved it because it gave us a reason to get our exercise in! Not everything was all inclusive! (Wine at dinner) and a few other items! Check first!

Overall, excellent trip.
We were an extended family of 9 (ranging in age from 18-79) and it was a bit quiet for my kids (20,22) but they could hop the free shuttle and go to downtown Los Cabos for more entertainment.

We had 1 Encanto Room (great view of the Sea of Cortez) and 2 - 2 bedroom family suites. We misunderstood them to be actual 2 bedroom suites with a central living area and full kitchen, but they are 2 adjoining rooms. The tour operator's room description didn't make that clear. However, accommodations were just fine and some rooms offered great water views - perfect for whale watching.

Never seemed very busy in the restaurants or pools however I would suggest the resort not close restaurants during the busy season. The buffet night at the Italian restaurant (Barolo) was not well handled - only 1 person and 1 burner to make pasta dishes. We were in line for 45 minutes waiting for our food. Food in general was very good and loved the fact that at breakfast you had a choice of buffet (which was very good) or you could eat a la carte. All restaurants for dinner are a la carte with the exception of 1 night a week where they offered a buffet. We also ate at Jack's downtown which is part of the all-inclusive meal plan, and it was excellent. That was one of the reasons we chose this property - the variety of restaurants. Food variety, quality and presentation were excellent.

Service was excellent all around - everyone was friendly. The concierge services were excellent. We overheard customers loudly complaining about random things, but I honestly think it was a result of their own poor behaviour (alcohol was a factor!) and rudeness toward the staff.

Many complain about the time share pitch - the only time we experienced it was when my son inquired about an excursion - they signed him up for a "special breakfast" without giving him the option. He simply did not attend. Other than that, we were never approached by anyone.

Note: if you are a beach person, there is NO beach at this property. It is set upon a cliff with beautiful views of Los Cabos and the arch. It is hilly but it is walkable for most however, they offer golf cart service and no complaints about getting one when needed. We had a person in our party with a walker and the hotel was also able to provide us a wheelchair to help. I've seen some comments about the property not being suitable for those with mobility issues - that is simply not the case. I would suggest staying in the Encanto building because there is a pool right there and a great little lunch restaurant. This is where my mom stayed and she was able to use her walker to get to the pool and back with no problems. (and beautiful water views from this building!)

My only suggestion would be to housekeeping - first off, our rooms were well kept however, we arrived on day 1 at 12:30pm and were able to check-in however our rooms were not ready yet. Not a problem, check-in time was not until 4pm. They suggested we go have lunch and they would have rooms when we finished. Went back to front desk about 2pm and no rooms yet. In the end, we didn't end up getting our rooms until after 4pm and were literally standing outside our rooms waiting for house keeping to finish. We had been up all night and were exhausted - it would of started the trip off on a better note if we had of been able to get into our rooms. Each day, it wasn't until late in the day until our rooms were cleaned and one day they tried cleaning it around 5pm, but we had already returned back for the day so didn't have them clean. I don't blame housekeeping, I question if they have enough people to do the job in a timely manner.

I would return to this resort and as a travel agent, I would sell it with confidence. [Details]

One of our best holiday resorts ever

From the moment our shuttle doors were opened for us to the sad moment we got on the shuttle back home it was nothing short of more than expected service comfort, service and luxury. The food was top notch and great variety, amazing restful sleeps in the huge bed, watching whales and birds from our balcony or several restaurant patios to the beautiful landscape and walks we had around the property. Seemed like nothing but the best. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We have already recommended to friends and are planning our next stay. [Details]

The strong points
Great rooms, lots of lounge chairs. Immaculate pools and common areas. Amazing food and people
The weak points
The only thing is the it's the first all inclusive resort we have stayed that you get a bill after every seating at a bar or restaurant and had a tip line to fill out. That made us a little uncomfortable. It was not an issue in the end just unexpected
