Big shame in the name of a “resort”

, L'Île-Bizard, QC
2019-05-29
This trip was my anniversary's getaway, and after looking at the nice pictures I thought this is a good resort, but it was absolute the worst
In short there was
No hot water
No good room by the beach
Very old and rusty everything, the reception made me want to commit suicide right then and there
No young people AT ALL ( and we are only 23 and 26) amd everyone else in the resort were over 50 literally, although there were only 30 people other than us living in the shitty resort ( there were literally no people there even it was a busy weekend that we couldn't get a booking anywhere else )
Very shady people on the beach
And resort is so small and so DEAD
only one restaurant
We hated our so called resort so much that we paid $800 extra to fly back home early.
Please never ever book this, this should not be called a resort but an old house and nothing else.
I have been to many resorts but this one was absolute worse I definitely never want to go back to the nightmare we had in Jamaica ever again.
Please don't wreck your holidays and book yourself a good resort [Details]

UNIQUE HEALING GARDENS INTIMATE RESORT

, Guelph, ON
2018-10-16
This unique beachfront resort represents the "real" in Jamaica. Staffed by Jamaicans who offer their help if you just ask! 90 rooms all the trees and gardens fronted by a great private sand beach and a lively pool in the middle featuring a water slide and swimup bar. The piano bar is a great spot for some entertainment and Wednesday night fire shows are exciting and the local Jamaican fare is yummy all set around the pool in twilight! I know some people arent fond of this resort and as agents you need to be able to qualify your people ... great for those that are sick and tired of concrete jungles, want some peace and quiet to relax and enjoy the sunshine, eat fresh food every day including fresh fruits and veg and enjoy the Canadian cedar of the cabin style rooms. I loved it and Ive been taking groups to Jamaica for 8 years, this is my Jamaica home and they embrace the music that is Canadian also. Dave and the House Band, the REAL Band, rock n roll for a great night to dance and enjoy! Experience it but understand its not for everyone, if you book online perhaps thats the issue as to why you dont always get what you paid for! [Details]

The staff, the staff, the staff. Also incredibly Beachfront. Love the gardens and paths in the trees. Adults only.
The weak points
Some finer work needed on common areas.

Perfect paradise for easygoing people

My boyfriend and I went to this resort on a budget with mediocre expectations seeing that it was a 3 star resort and ended up loving it so much and enjoyed it more than many 4 star resorts. First thing that was awesome is the staff gets to know you so no need to wear a plastic bracelet all week! The food is great and freshly cooked each day. The people were great. The staff is friendly. The beach is amazing and you must upgrade to the oceanfront rooms. You will not regret it. The view each day is so spectacular. White sand. Softest I have ever felt. It is a smaller, quiet resort. Not much nightlife entertainment around but you can enjoy good conversations and bring your own portable speaker and create your own party in the lounge or beach. They don't shut you down. Security is good. Beds too soft for my liking but having a King bed was great. Showers were nice and warm/adjustable at the end of a long day. Water slide is super fun. Love watching the old folks scream their head off as they reclaim their youth. Be prepared to spend a lot on taxi rides. We didn't know Jamaica takes USD so best to bring cash with you if the exchange is better in your country. At the bank they would not change CAD to USD. They wanted to change CAD to JD (Jamaican Dollars) to USD :(. Double loss!. Lots of mosquitos! Bring tons of big spray. Air conditioning, safe and fridge worked very well. Hair dryer did not work at all. But I could live on the beach. It was so quiet and relaxing. Super amazing dream come true. Greatly surpassed our expectations! Manager came to wish us safe trip back home and asked how we can make the resort better. It was amazing. [Details]

The strong points
Beautiful white sand beach. Food is excellent. Friendly and fun staff. Resort clean. Oceanfront room amazing. Large rooms. Hot shower. Pina colada is the best. Waterslide. Always free beach and pool chairs. Always had towels. No resort bracelet for a week
The weak points
Hair dryer did not work. Mosquitos. Some of the dining areas could use some updating. No premium drinks. Loud door banging may bother some people as the doors are a bit rickety to the balcony and you can hear them slam into the night. No shows or nightclub

NICE, RELAXING VACATION

, Mount Moriah, NL

My fiancé and I had a great week at Mango's. The hotel is a great place for a relaxing vacation. We upgraded to the Oceanfront room at time of booking and it was worth the extra money to hear the waves from the ocean hit the beach while going to sleep at night.
It has a rustic feel, was clean, but could use some remodeling/painting or something to make it a little more modern.
I would recommend this resort, and would return again.
For anyone looking for a luxury, fancy hotel with extra services, nightly entertainment and or to party, maybe not the place for you.
Overall this hotel is a solid 3.5/4 star. [Details]

Rustic small boutique hotel

, Omemee, ON

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Had an oceanfront room with a view to die for. Although this property is close to Montego Bay (half hour drive), it's located on a quiet stretch of beach with only 1 other neighbouring property. Staff was warm and friendly, food was tasty. This is an older property so it is a bit worn around the edges, and there were a few issues which were in the process of being resolved. [Details]

The strong points
Quiet atmosphere, not crowded, nice beach, fabulous view from oceanfront rooms, comfortable beds, spacious rooms with balcony overlooking ocean.
The weak points
Not much to do nearby without taking a cab. Not much entertainment. Bathtubs worn, connecting door to neighbours suite (lack of privacy and potential noise).
