Love the proximity to the airport 15-20 min at most. Great value for what we paid. Helpful staff. Clean rooms and linens. Grounds well kept. Cement walkways need some work they are getting pitted and could cause a safety issue for the mobility challenged. Buffet had variety of food, you would have to be really fussy to not be able to find something. Pool was clean. Beach was excellent, we were in the ocean every day, Never had an issue with finding loungers. GREAT VACATION!! [Details]

How to start? Me myself working in the tourism buisness, i can say the personnel was fantastic! Big smile 24/7, kind people, and gracious host! I loved every.last.thing about my stay, from the site, to the visit in morón where we saw the cuban people (most lively people in the world), i couldn't have asked for a better experience!! On site we also met beautiful people, Arianna that studies in the tourism industry has an amazing personnality and she even brought us food (a kind of peanut butter cream with rice) we loved it and she came back everyday that she worked to say hi and share experiences! We also met Yanquiel, also known as Prince, wich is an a amazing man with a great personnality and great speech skill! The beach, the sun the people, oufff can't ask for more.. except maybe a longer stay! ;) hope to see you there next time i go! Thanks to all of you there! Hasta la proxima amigos! [Details]

This hotel is the best! This staff is incredible. The food is delicious and plentiful. My third visit here at this hotel. I cannot wait to come back next year and see the changes that they will be working on when they are closed from July 1st to September 1st. Every single staff member here goes above and beyond!! The beach and the view...amazing!!! Food, lots of it and it is scrumptious!! Entertainment is top notch!!

Water pressure.. but we know they're working on that when they're closed. Once we figured out when the pressure was up, that's when we jumped into the shower.No big deal, we made it work.

I think it would've been nice to have more umbrellas/shaded areas around the pool. Also, it would be nice to have unlimited access to the wifi instead of 10 hours of wifi at a time.

Very clean around the resort. There were people constantly cleaning around the washrooms, restaurants, everywhere!

The Melia Cayo coco is a beautiful resort. The grounds are huge and gorgeous and so beautifully manicured. If you love to walk, this is the place for you. There are so many paths to discover. The beach is spectacular and clean as the workers wake up early to remove the seaweed. The pool at the Melia is the biggest I've ever seen. There are plenty of chairs and Lidos, so there's no need to wake up early to reserve a spot. The food is plentiful and quite delicious, with a variety of meats, pastas, breads, Cuban specialties, desserts and, of course, exquisite fruits. Of course you can enjoy a cocktail at any time of the day and night.
The staff, with no exceptions, is extremely kind, respectful, friendly, and helpful. There is plenty of entertainment in the evenings including professional and entertaining nightly shows which are not to be missed.
Yanquiel “el principe” is the community manager. He is a top notch individual. He makes everyone feel so welcomed and special. He is friendly and funny and he brings much life to the resort. There are so many wonderful staff members but a few stand out… Jose who manages the gym is polite and helpful, Arisleidy who serves our breakfast and lunch at the buffet each day is attentive to everyones wants and needs. The crepe man, Luis (Wicho) , is such a lovely, polite man. He goes out of his way to prepare the perfect crepe for each guest. I would definitely return to this resort and would recommend it to friends and family. [Details]

From check-in to check-out we could not have asked for a better week. After a quick check-in we were taken to our room (7422) which had 2 beds, as requested. The room was clean and comfortable (we are researching where we can buy a similar mattress as soon as we get home). Everything worked as expected, from the mini-fridge to the AC and shower. The resort is beautiful, walkable and filled with the most friendly staff who go above and beyond to make your stay special (they make it a point to get to know you and even save your favorit seats in the dining hall). We enjoyed great food and daily/nightly entertainment. I personally prefer to spend my days at the pool, but the beach is stunning and well taken care of (raked by hand each morning). Special mention to the afternoon churros and iced cream by the pool. I highly recommend considering Melia Cayo Coco for your next vacation (we are already planning to return as soon as possible, and even extending our next stay for 2 weeks). [Details]

My husband and I stayed March 5-12 and this is the first time staying at this hotel and Cayo Coco. We haven't been to Cuba in over 10 years and this hotel far exceeded our expectations. My wife and I booked at the Melia Cayo Coco and did not know what to expect. To our surprise everything was much better than we could have imagined. The place is extremely clean, the staff are all incredibly friendly, the resort itself is literally heaven on earth. We had a peaceful time here and got away from stress of Canadian cities. This was our first visit and will most definitely not be our last. We made memories here that we will take with us. The rooms were large and cleaned daily; the beach was breathtaking, the buffet was always fresh. Excellent hotel. Staff are amazing, especially our friend Yusmelkis at the beach restaurant and Jorge at the lobby bar. Food is very good. Breakfast is great...lots of eggs, bacon, everything you could want. Lunches at the beach were a highpoint especially yhr BBQ chicken and all the great sauces. Dinners at the a la carte restaurants are very good. Presentation and service are amazing.

The pool is clean, the pool bar is well stocked and they make a mean mojito.

The beach is wonderful, clean, perfect for long morning walks and shell collecting.

Melia Cayo Coco is the perfect sized resort to make you feel immediately at home. Staff work hard to ensure you are comfortable and all needs are met. The food is excellent, with fresh fish, beef, kebabs, pasta and roast chicken at lunch and dinner. You can also have eggs or crepes made for you fresh at breakfast. Enjoy lobster and BBQ chicken, fish, beef as part of your restaurant experience.
The beach is gorgeous, white powdery sand. Plenty of palapas shelter and lounges for everyone. A nice breeze is constantly blowing here, making it popular with kite surfers. You can book a trip on a hobiecat or take a pedal boat a mile out to the reef. The pool has over a dozen lounge shelters for extra comfort if you need to get out of the hot Cuban sun.
It's a great spot for seniors, or anyone who is seeking some peace and quiet in nature. There is live music throughout the day, yoga, Spanish, and dance classes for those who need activities. They put on a great dance show every night, followed by music in the main hall so everyone can dance. Something for everyone. Highly recommend. Hardworking, attentive staff. Great fresh food. We overall had a great time. The resort is quiet, with activities during the day. However, if you are looking for night life, this is not the resort for you. The beach is amazing and clean. The staff are very friendly and get to know you, from the entertainment team to the gardeners. We came back with a collection of grass creations gifted to us by the garden staff. The food is very good at the buffet, the seafood was very tasty. The restaurant food was delightful as well as the service. The stay was not without hiccups however. I did catch sight of a cockroach at the buffet table which is unfortunate. We had some ants in our room as well. The bed was not the most comfortable and there were some stains (coffee maybe) on the sheets. Overall, the resort is beautiful, staff are lovely, and is a great place to relax your days away or participate in day activities. The cons would not prevent us from coming back. [Details]

This is our second time at Melia Cayo Coco and will be returning next year. We have been to many throughout Cuba and have discovered this gem. Not too big and you can always find a very social vibe, but it is also very peaceful and relaxing. The massage is a must, but book as soon as you arrive. The resort has an elegance that begins with the beautiful glass and white lobby area. The resort is being continuously maintained and improved. The restaurants have always been very enjoyable. We have not had issues with food as we appreciate the grilled fish, calamari and roasted meat with vegetables. However, you must be willing to ‘go with the flow' and you will always find something.
The staff is friendly and be sure to make contact with Prince! His positive energy is hard to miss! He will do whatever he can to make your stay memorable and help plan activities. The beach is SPECTACULAR! The sand is like powder and spans kilometres. We travel at the end of February and finding a place to sit on the beach has never been a problem. We just came back from a great week at this resort. It's a beautiful spot with a fabulous beach and great swimming.

Our room was fine, clean and simple with a nice balcony.

The food and drink was plentiful and lots of choice. I know some people will disagree but I was quite happy with what was on offer.

What makes the place really special is the friendly and professional staff who go out of their way to make sure your stay is a good one. The standout for me was Jose who gives great massages and is a lovely human being.

I've been recommended to stay at this hotel by multiple people, as it is known to have a great reputation. I can definitely confirm that this resort is fantastic in every aspect. The staff are extremely warm and attentive in all areas of the hotel. The nightly entertainment is also incredible, they have live music and dancers who perform a different theme every night.

The cuisine in both the buffet and restaurants is delicious and they really do implement their Cuban cuisine, which I love! One of my favourite things to eat from the buffet are the crepes with honey, they taste so fresh. The snack bar also serves the BEST margarita pizzas.

The pool and beach are both so relaxing in every way. There is always an abundance of chairs and spots to choose from, whether you want to be in the sun or shade.

Fantastic two weeks at Melia Cayo Coco

This was our first trip to this resort so we wrote an email about a week before we came to Cuba. In it we asked for a ground floor room due to my husband's disability. We also asked for the room to be close to the ocean (ocean view if possible), close to the buffets, as well as a king size bed. The reply was that they would do everything they could to help us out.
When we arrived we received everything that we asked for, it couldn't be any better! We also got an invite for a special supper at the gazebo. There was also a form to fill in so we could get breakfast in bed!
The ambience with the music, saxophone, trumpet, flute, and piano players was spectacular. Such a relaxing start to the day and a relaxing way to end the day as well.
The staff are always welcoming and friendly with smiles and warm hugs, ready to help make your vacation all that you want it to be.
The beach is a beautiful powdery white sand with plenty of palapas to relax under. The ocean was warm and clear, a wonderful way to cool off from the hot sun! The pool is a wonderful option for when it was too windy and cold, it's always hot by the pool.
There is a pickle ball court as well as a billiards/poolroom and they are currently working on the sports club.
We had an absolutely wonderful time and will definitely be coming back, maybe three weeks next time. Many thanks to all the staff at the buffet, snack, and beach buffet and bar, as well as the maids and groundskeepers❤️ [Details]

Was perfect! The weather the food the whole set up was amazing.
We did not want for anything.
We are just turned seniors and don't mind paying more for quality and I believe we got exactly what we wanted.
The physical layout is very simple and the grounds are beautiful. Plenty of palapa's down at the beach.
We will be returning again except this time will be for three weeks!

Honeymoon vacation

First time here at this resort, Melia Cayo Coco. It is a beautiful and well taken care of resort paradise. It lives up to its 5 star rating. Plenty of staff to help you with your needs and look after you during your stay. We had amazing weather while staying here (very lucky). The food is very good compared to other Cuban resorts. I've been to the Melia Sol Cayo Guillermo in 2001. And I much liked it as well. This trip was very relaxing because we were on our honeymoon and wanted to relax. We plan on going to town one day to do some shopping. The only thing that was unsatisfactory was we booked our trip as honeymoon but when arrival they didn't know but they fixed it by giving us a bottle of champagne in our room. [Details]
