Mazatlan

We loved this resort but we like a quiet atmosphere with early nights. The location of this resort means a 15-minute ground transfer with no additional stops. The beach had no soliciting which was so refreshing. You are not close to Mazatlan but we have been there before. We never left the resort. Rooms are spacious with full ocean views. We saw whales and dolphins our 5th floor balcony. No wristbands are required! Food was great. No reservations are required for the a la cartes. We had no trouble getting a table for 6. I particularly enjoyed the 24/7 coffee bar. Pools seemed to have enough loungers and umbrellas. Although it seemed the hotel wasn't very busy. It may have been a different thing if the resort was at capacity. It got a little noisy while "Boots On The Beach" attendees arrived for a country music jamboree. Even then the nights quieted down early. Although the children's area was poorly designed, our 4 year old had a wonderful holiday playing in the shallow pools and running on the beach.

This was my 4th stay at the resort. Pros: the location, food and bar and restaurant service. Cons: first year I was hit with a $150 Canadian resort fee. There was no extra benefit in paying this fee. The nightly entertainment cut back to 1 night in a week. I see that many resorts don't charge this fee so will look elsewhere. As a solo traveler, the fee could be mush less. I had no luck seeing the shuttle service as Nexus promised and the resort wasn't any help making sure my shuttle meeting took place.

We went to El Cid last week as a family of four with a 19 year old and 22 year old. The resort is very much an older crowd (60-80 years apprx). There is not much to do in the evenings and the shows are very low-brow. They are also held in the dining hall which we found quite odd. Overall grounds are clean and inviting. Food was really good throughout our stay. Plenty of water available to drink. Pros: -nice room -daily maid service -beautiful ocean view with patio -FOOD IS GOOD!!! -lots of restaurants to choose from with the Elite plan, not sure about regular plan -can use multiple pools as well -bar service at the pool was very good -gym is large but on other side of the road -free shuttle to take you to Marina location. Cons: -on a busy street, can hear traffic from your room -service was ok, but not great. I didn't find most of the breakfast staff to be very friendly, but one at the evening restaurant was very nice. Overall didn't feel as inviting as other resorts I have stayed at. -drink options seemed limited compared to other resorts -no nightlife at all; not much to do on site I would not stay here again just because I prefer more of the jungle vibe of Mayan Riveria; but if you like an urban location then this is great. Definitely a clean, nice resort with good food and beach that you can swim in. Elite club probably worth the money- they had real alcohol that you can help yourself to between 9am-9pm, and easy to grab bottle of water or beer from the fridge without having to go the bar. Staff in elite club was VERY friendly and welcoming.

Our stay in the Tower suite was incredible.. Great staff! No hidden fees other than wi-fi & indoor parking which was not optional however, still worth the $1,750.00 pesos = $20.00 CAN/Day more or less. Awesome views and extremely accommodating. Loved every moment of our stay!

Always enjoy my stay at the marina staff are great

This was our fourth stay at the Luna Palace. Overall clean, friendly and relaxing. However, this time we had a room facing the pool above the music booth,we were not able to enjoy sitting on the deck as the pigeons have taken over and made a mess all over the deck. This is our favourite thing to do in the mornings. We have had beautiful rooms on the beach and facing the beach in the past. They were good about cleaning it everyday, but it would just become a mess again by morning. Also, morning sun makes it too hot to sit there. There really is no happy hour anymore, the bartender said yes, then when he goes back to make the drinks there is a lady that sits there and says no to him. ( I think she is a supervisor) Even though it shows on their drink menu with the happy hour times. Very confusing. The location is a bit far from the main golden zone.

The hotel staff were all very pleasant and helpful and the sheets and towels in our room were clean. However , a thorough cleaning of the room has not been done in a long time and although we had daily maid service, the table in our room wasn't even wiped once. The cupboards were all locked so we could not even have a glass to drink our water from or a plate to heat up leftovers that were bought elseswhere as the buffet was very poor. Thankfully, we had access to a couple other resorts that were affiliated with this one so we ate there instead of our own hotel but dined out a fair bit also despite having an all inclusive pkg. Also, the alcohol included was very low quality. They didn't even serve Kaluha.

We enjoyed a nice one-week stay at the Viaggio hotel in Mazatlan. The rooms are modern, well-kept and have nice showers. Our room was cleaned every morning and the staff was very polite and helpful in all areas of the hotel

We booked this trip to celebrate my 40th birthday. We've been to Mazatlan previously. The hotel itself is very nice- new construction, modern. However, they classify themselves as a resort but this is truly just a hotel. Great for a day or two stay but that'd be about it. The description noted a speciality restaurant along with the buffet and snack bar however the buffet was only available while we we there and the selection was extremely minimal. The service poolside was non existent. We booked for an all inclusive and had requested not once but twice to move resorts. Finally our request was fulfilled and we were able to enjoy our vacation. I would not classify this as a resort,
