Not worth the price!! Terrible
My husband and I and our 8 and 10 year old daughters stayed here for two weeks in early February. Based on the reviews and the hotel rating we were expecting a luxury resort on par with the Grand at Moon Palace that we stayed at in 2023. Beaches Negril definitely did not live up to our expectations, especially given the high cost. I want to be clear that the staff at Beaches Negril are great but the resort itself is in dire need of some major upgrades to make it worth the high cost. Accommodations: The oversized family Concierge suite that we initially booked was horrible. The furniture was broken, drawers wouldn't open or close and the cabinet door was hanging off the hinges. The kids daybed/trundle bed was super uncomfortable with squeaky springs digging in. Neither girl was able to sleep the first two nights (which meant none of us slept). The second night our eldest tried the pull out chair which was creaky but marginally better than the trundle. We were able to arrange to move to an adjoining room where both girls got their own beds but had to pay an additional $13,000 cad (due to all the concerns raised here, we were refunded 10% of the upgrade fee upon check out). That's over and above the already exorbitant cost of this trip. About a week into our stay, a pipe burst and we didn't have water in our rooms on three separate occasions. One day we had no water in the room for 11 hours in a row. On another occasion, after the water turned back on it ran dark brown for a while which was unsettling. We were offered a “hospitality room” to shower in which we declined. Also, housekeeping was super inconsistent- sometimes they'd be done 11, other days not till 4 and we'd often have to ask 3 or four times to get our coffee and waters replenished. Food: We were served an almost totally raw steak at Stella when we asked for it to be cooked medium. They also served us spam (told it was ham) on the classic eggs Benedict. We also received more than one nearly raw cheeseburgers at the BBQ place on seperate occasions. I was often served drinks in dirty glasses. At one point I was given a martini in a glass with lipstick all around the edges (watched the bartender get it from a dirty dish tray and rinse it briefly) I mentioned politely that the glass was dirty and she poured the drink into another glass and handed it back to me. Finally, my husband was sick for a few days from something at the buffet. Amenities and grounds: the pool furniture is falling apart and very dirty in some places and the pool water at the water park is murky. There is nowhere comfortable to hang out before dinner that is air conditioned. We played pool before dinner most days but the space is not air conditioned and could be very hot. They were also doing construction in the lobby bar on multiple days and there was noise and sawdust everywhere. The water feature/stream that usually runs through the property is empty with exposed pipes etc and the children's pool is disgusting. They were also pouring concrete throughout the resort and where the pipe burst the area is torn up just next to our building. There is no bank machine on site. They will allow a one time cash advance for $100 but that's it and the “no tipping” policy is no longer in effect. We were told that on the first day and it was clear that tips were expected by some. We were told by our travel agent that there was no tipping so we didn't have enough cash. I had to pay $25 usd for a taxi to go get money out. Lastly, the bathrooms throughout the resort are in pretty rough shape. Toilets don't flush consistently or powerfully, lots of the doors don't lock properly or at all or have broken slats. Many of the taps are loose or broken. Overall we made the best of things but we will not be back nor would we recommend to friends or family. The value is just not there Iand I wouldn't rate this resort more than 2 stars. I reached out to Sandals customer service and they offered sandals reward points valued at around $200 usd but wouldn't not consider any further compensation despite everything listed above. Would absolutely not recommend.

Nice hotel but under construction
The hotel is beautiful and on an excellent portion of 7 mile beach. You will see lots of fish and wildlife in the water. It has beautiful crystal clear patches but there is also some areas of sea grass, necessary to support the ecosystem. Bring water shoes if that bothers you or stay in the pool. The beach was very clean and the vendors were very respectful to "no thank you". The food at the hotel was very good, however the room service menu was lacking in quality. There is no dinner buffet, but if you did not secure a reservation for dinner, there are at least 2 a la carte restaurants which do not require resos. There was an unfortunate lack of jerk chicken, as most resorts in Jamaica have a beautiful little beachfront bbq where you can taste this delicious dish. Sandals offered jerk in the lunch buffet but that was it. The food was very Americanized. The service was very good, but we still had a few minor hiccups. The construction is between the paradise building and the crystal lagoon building and the jackhammering noise was intolerable from the beach closest to these buildings. Further down by the scuba pool was much better for relaxation. Book a private tour with a sandals boat to the caves/Rick's cafe. The boats ranged from 300-400 USD but it's private, and breathtakingly beautiful. We left at 4:30 and saw a beautiful sunset as well as a dolphin while touring the coastline. First time at sandals and likely the last as the value just wasn't there when we have enjoyed ourselves just as much at other 5 star resorts on the same stretch of beach. But I am happy to have tried Sandals at least once.

Quiet, Clean and Safe
I checked in April 1, 2024, after a extremely long bus ride. Was not greeted by the most pleasant until person until another lady took over and assisted me. I upgraded to the Azul section on the main floor suite 1011. They accommodated me with the room I wanted which was nice. No water or welcome drink provided but when I was checking out, someone was checking in and she was welcomed with a bottle of water. Not a big deal just noticed. Room was very clean, beds were comfortable and air conditioned was really good. Flat screen smart tv, which I was able to connect my Netflix and Prime. Please be aware that there are no beach towels provided as stated on their website so bring one if you need. There is a shortage of water so you may not get clean towels everyday. The new pool was nice and clean however the steps leading down were extremely slipper any my son fell and bruised his leg badly. I also witnessed others falling and had to warn them. I suggest putting a sign as a beware or but something on the stairs. We had the all inclusive package and the food was decent most of the time, with different options to choose from. The people for the most part were very nice and welcoming however there are a few bad seeds, bartender rolling her eyes when asking for a drink, almost like they hated being there, no smiles and almost rude like you were disturbing them. The resort was clean and well kept, a few things that needed to be updated but not bad for a three star. I would definitely recommend this place if you are just looking for relaxion. If you want to party then go to the beach. The only downfall is a lack of sun shade and umbrellas at the sister resort Legends. Crammed in lounge chairs on a very small beach. If you are a snorkeler like me you have to go to the reef because I didn't see anything off the beach. We paid $50 US each to take us out in a glass bottom boat that you can find off the beach. Don't waste your money on expensive trips, I was able to see a sea turtle and Manta ray among a lot of other beautiful fish. Overall I would come back and would recommend.
