Riviera Hotel Casino

There were a couple things I wasn't happy about. First, I requested a non-smoking room and was given a room that was disgusting for a non smoker. I called and asked for a different room and was told that there were no guarantees when a room is booked with a package but for $10/night I could upgrade. I had no choice in that matter because I was already feeling the effects after 5 minutes in the room. Secondly I was shocked at having to pay a $15/night resort fee. No matter how you look at it, the Riviera is not a resort, making that fee a joke.
Once we relocated everything was good. The room was relatively clean, comfortable and quiet. [Details]

This was our first time to Vegas, and based on other peoples experiences, we did not expect this hotel to be anything special - just a place to sleep, really. BUT, the place was well appointed, the amenities were just fine, and above all the people were very friendly, which spoke to us more than anything. We would absolutely come back to this hotel as it wasn't as crazy-busy as the others further up the strip, and had everything we needed for an adventurous vacation! [Details]
