We visited the Hilton Tulum with our two children, ages 10 and 13 in April 2025. We shared a Nature View Room with two Queen beds in Casa 5. The room was clean and bright. We were on the second floor with a lovely patio with table and chairs. It was too hot to sit out during the day but made for a lovely area for drying our swimsuits. We did sit out and enjoyed a lovely bevy in the evenings while the kids got ready for bed. The washroom was part of the room, with a frosted glass door on the shower and a frosted glass door for the toilet. This did not allow for a lot of privacy but did work in the sense that someone could be showering, another indisposed on the toilet and another person brushing their teeth or doing their hair, etc. at the sink. The room had multiple outlets for charging all of our devices and a safe for our valuables. The mini-fridge was stocked daily with soft drinks, cervezas and canned water.
Our room in Casa 5 was located at the opposite end of the resort from the lobby, located near the kids area and one of the breakfast & lunch buffets as well as the (evenings only) Mediterranean restaurant, Vela Sur. Although far from the main lobby, there were golf carts aka trams running regularly to pick us and other guests up when walking wasn't an option. We did enjoy the walk from one end of the resort to the other and one morning even saw a monkey cross the road in front of us. This was exciting for all of us.
The food at the Hilton Tulum was excellent. We booked all of our a la cartes on the day we arrived with concierge. Once you check in, you are provided a QR code (on your bracelet which also doubles as a room key) and you have access to a website where you can make changes to your reservations yourself. We ate at all of the a la carte restaurants and our favourites were the Mexican restaurant, Maxal, the Italian restaurant, La Luce and the steakhouse, Auma. The buffets for breakfast and lunch had lots of different options with fresh fruits and veggies at all meals. We ordered pool side food from the Chiringulto Sea Salt eatery. Everything from burgers/fries, quesadillas, guac and chips, and ice cream. It was all delicious.
The staff at the Hilton-Tulum are exceptional. Guadalupe and Eduardo spoiled us at pool 4 with their excellent service and warm demeanor. The pools were all warm, except for the kids pool which was slightly cooler than the others. The hot tubs aren't truly hot tub temperature but are warmer than the pools.
The kids area was fun but more appropriate for younger kids than our children's ages. We spent one day there because of it's location to the the Churreria (snack bar) where the kids could get churros and ice cream.
Overall, we had a wonderful vacation at the Hilton-Tulum. [Details]

The strong points
Drinkable water with water and ice refill stations located throughout the resort.
The food and food options were excellent. At each check-in, whether at an a la carte or a buffet the staff asked whether there were any allergies.
Staff are exceptional.
The weak points
The beach is rocky, my husband broke his toe on our first day.
The Japanese restaurant, Noriku was slightly disappointing. The Teppanyaki customs seemed to slow down the ability of staff to get food out to the rest of the restaurant.
Sanitary measures
All of the washrooms throughout the resort were very clean.

We paid for an all inclusive vacation for my husband and I, costing us 6000 Canadian dollars. We thought we are going to a five star Hilton hotel, with great beaches, pools, food and rooms. We get there, the rooms are so basic, no carpet, felt dustly always having to wear something on our feet. We couldn't go to the beach, it's very rocky, and full of sea weed, no one was on the beach at all. Additional to all of that, we were always by the pool side, and there were very strong sewage smells that continued through out our stay. We complained they kept telling us that its from the ocean and the smell of seaweed, and it was really a sewage smell. i don't recommend staying at this resort. [Details]

This resort is absolutely beautiful! So many common areas and pools that it never feels crowded. The service at the pool and restaurants was excellent. A variety of restaurants where the food was above par for an all inclusive resort. I enjoyed the cafe everyday for an afternoon cappuccino and small treat. There was always fresh fruit available also. There was definitely extra care and thought into all aspects of this resort. I loved that beach towels were nicely placed on loungers each morning. No towel cards or saving loungers were necessary! Would recommend this resort for an upscale "all inclusive" experience. [Details]

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left this resort, there was nothing but the best of everything provided for us! I've travelled extensively through this region and stayed at many all-inclusives, and this was by far, superior in service, food quality, and comfort! Great fresh, clean buffet choices, superior restaurants, beautifully appointed rooms, constant quick shuttles to pools and beaches, delicious cocktails served to you continuously at the pools….need I say more?! And Wi-Fi here was continuously reliable throughout the resort! [Details]
