My experience was fantastic!! Such a gorgeous resort! The entertainers are so amazing! Adrian has the most infectious energy! You see him smile and you just want to be around him all the time! He does Yoga, Thai Chi, Aqua Gym, Beach Volleyball, games, dance lessons where you just cannot take your eyes off of him because his Cuban rhythm is so perfect! Need to learn basic Spanish? Adrian will teach you! There were so many positives about this resort but Adrian made this trip absolute perfection. [Details]

Fantastic vacation, again...

This resort has become my absolute favorite after traveling through the Caribean for the last 25 years. This time I was visiting with two of my friends and everyone was very happy with the reception, service, friendliness of the people working there and comfort in their hospitality.We also met some very lovely people there aside from the hosts. I sugested to my cousin to visit here also and he just come back on the 3rd of June having stayed there for 8 days. My friend and I have already made reservations for October 12 and are counting the days impatiently. Can't wait to see everyone again, Manuel (manager extraordinaire), Karenia (ultra room organizer), Elsie and Jorgi (entratainment specialists), and others just as nice and just as valluable. We'll be baaaaack...... The wonderful people of Cuba are doing a tremandous job considering the extremely unfair and inhumane, cruel embargos and restrictions constantly thrown at them by their neighbours the USA. We had an amazing experience once again at Melia las Americas . Things changed post Covid but we had food all the time and not so bad for choice .
Staff was amazing once more. Only thing is they need to have more animation at night . Location of this hotel is great. We stayed in the renovated room on the 4th floor.. just gorgeous with ocean view . We will definitely return . Could not ask for a better vacation [Details]

Great for golf and beach, food is mediocre

If you're looking for golf and beach this is the place to be. Golf course a short 3 min. Walk from your hotel. Hotel is directly on the beach. Food can be a little frustrating since it is not available all the time. Buffet hours are very limited and other offerings are sparse and service is unreliable. In fact, it takes a few days to learn to curate your meal but once you figure it out there's something that you can find to eat at every mealtime. Snacks are limited. In fact, experienced visitors at this hotel all brought their own snacks, hot sauce, steak spice and the occasional jar of peanut butter! [Details]

Amazing stay at Melia las Americas

My friend and I braved a trip to Cuba and were more then happy we did. Never mind the Covid tests and vaccinatiion proofs, that is a giiven and went without any problems, but staying at Melia las Americas was a most wonderful experience. I got the marvelous room 3306 facing the ocean. Everything about the room was just great but it was even more satisfying due to a great service and company of lovely Karenia who made sure I had everything I needed. She is a very capable, friendly and personable lady and it was a joy to get to know her. I also must mentionn Miriela and Marichal at "Barbacoa" restaurant. Miriela is a marvel, she remembered all that I and my friend usualy ordered and was on top of every wish we had before we even voiced it. Marichal was also very atentive and made great cappuchinos. And then there is the tireless entertainment crew at the beach, namely Jorgi, Elsie and the beautifull blue eyed young lady whose name I fergot. I meant to go last day to visit with all of them and thank them one more time but was unable to, time runs out faster then we think. I will make up for it next time, soon I promisse. A big thanks to the young manager, Manuel who made sure to see to every detail in running this wonderful resort. When I praised him in the dining room I should have mentioned that it is saying a lot when your crew is often singing while runing around working. Cuba is my destination always and it will remain my destination for the remainder of my life. I wish them all well and will be there again in January or February 2022. Everything, people first. Beach is unbelievable beautifull, the ocean was lovely and warm. We even had wonderfull weather.Food was plentifull, not the usual wide selection but plenty lovely food if you are not inclined to waste and are respectfull.

Nothing, I had all I needed and can't wait to be back.

All was done to keep the guests and the hosts safe, masks were worn outside of our rooms. Test was done on arrival and another 72 hours before departure. All was profesional and easily accessable. No problems of any kind.

Put a towel on the chair next to the beach at 7:00
Get a pad from the beach clubhouse to put on our beach lounger
Go to the mall to buy wine in order to bring it in the à la carte restaurant
Ask for another blanket and will receive it immediately
Tip the servers if you want anything done they get a whole lot friendlier
Ask for extra foam on the bed since they are hard
Put all valuable items in your carry on
Make reservation for the à la carte restaurant from the day you arrive otherwise they will tell you its all booked

The first floor rooms had a bit of a smell, second floor rooms not so great, third floor rooms are very nice as well as the hallway and the view on the third floor is great. We had room 3103 king size bed, view of the golf course and water, it was very clean and would highly recommend it

The Beach was beautiful but there wasn't enough covered areas to avoid the sun, and we paid a premium to have special access to an area of the beach, but unauthorized people were using it and the staff did not enforce the rule that it was for premium guests only. We've been to this hotel several times, easily our favourite hotel in Varadero.
Lots of amenities, numerous daily beach activities, water sports and evening entertainment. Nightly theatre shows, evening dancing with live music or DJ's on the patio overlooking the ocean, as well as beach parties.
Rooms and beds are very comfortable, food is excellent(very important to us) with the restaurants being well kept and managed. We've seen numerous upgrades and changes over the last 4 years, including significant room upgrades, lobby refresh, restaurant upgrades, added premium Level lounges and concierge beach services, etc.
This in an adults 18 hotel, beautiful beach front, surrounded by the golf course. A number of free rounds of golf are usually included with your stay. Golf course is stunning with several unique holes. The hotel amenities and helpful staff keep us coming back. Call out to a few of the many staff that made our last last stay enjoyable: Nelson- classy professional demeanour, Raul- hardest working guy on the beach, Allen- always engaging, and Elsy,Amed and all of the entertainment folks. Best Golf & Beach Resort in the Caribbean

Visited Melia Oct. 21 to 28, 2019 and most recently Jan. 18 to 25, 2020. If you are looking for an amazing golf and/or beach experience and a resort that is packed with Canadians, this is the right resort for you! In October my husband and I had a great week celebrating my 50th birthday. We golfed together on my bday, and he golfed a few mornings while I slept in, enjoyed my cappuccino from Robleza on the beach, soaked up some sun, read my book, and then met him for lunch at La Robleza. It's a gorgeous restaurant patio overlooking the pool and ocean. Rachel served us daily and she was superb. We enjoyed the tastiest white fish fillet and grilled veggies. Pina coladas, Havana Specials (pineapple and rum), white wine and the best champagne (can't get enough of it!). The food at Melia is awesome if you are used to eating healthy! Lots of beef, pork, chicken, fish, veggies and salad to choose from. Great variety of cheeses and the bread is to die for. Made daily and no preservatives. The pizza is super yummy too. The hamburgers served at the beach bar and restaurant are so good – two moist patties topped with a fried egg, a slice of ham, tomato and lettuce on a homemade bun! It's just as good if not better than the same burger you can order in Canada at The Works. We had a beautiful room overlooking the 15th hole on the golf course and on my birthday they left us a bucket of champagne in our room to celebrate after our round of golf. Our visit in January was much the same but with friends to enjoy more golf and more champagne of course! If you love a challenging golf course with amazing views, you will love the Melia Varadero Golf Course adjacent to Melia Las Americas. Great weather and great experiences. Before and after dinner we enjoyed the bar lounge where the staff put on their own show in the evenings – what we call the “Raul Show”. We laughed so hard our faces hurt. He does this silent film routine behind the bar that coincides with the singing and dancing performances in the lobby. He had us in stitches during the opera performances. Don't ever stop being you Raul – because you are the best. During both trips we upgraded to the Level, where you get quite a few perks – such as pre-booked restaurant reservations for 7:30 p.m. at the four restaurants – Sakura, La Robleza, Arcada and Il Limoncello. Also enjoyed our own private pre-dinner drinks at the Level Lounge where we sipped on champagne and enjoyed premium spirits. We golfed each morning, enjoyed the beach all afternoon, ate well each day, laughed, drank and danced the night away to the band in the lobby. Highly recommend a week or more at Melia Las Americas! Great vacation again at the Melia Las Americas

Just returned from a 13 day stay at the Melia Las Americas (MLA) this was our 6th stay at the MLA and cannot say enough good things about the MLA. It is for sure a golfer's paradise – I have never heard anyone talk poorly about the golf course and we attach a picture of our view of the course on the infamous 15th water hole!
The MLA is adults only and a resort we believe that prides itself it in customer service. Unlike the new huge resorts the MLA is 340 rooms and a grounds that are mature and spectacular. Again a picture of the outside patio area speaks for itself.
Large enough to have all the amenities but small enough to make it very comfortable and after our 6th visit there are few staff we do not know and they show you true hospitality every day. The beach is great and kept very clean by the staff – plenty of loungers and cabana's so no need to rush down. The pools are kept very clean and yes the bungalow pool is under construction and should be done very soon and looks like it and the new bar grill down there will be awesome. The continued renovations illustrate the commitment by Melia and the management to keep this resort one you will want to continue coming back to as we do.
We enjoy all the restaurants but in particular the atmosphere in the La Arcada with the string quartet and presentation by the servers makes the night. The Il Limoncello that serves Mediterranean food is also excellent and getting there early and having a table on the outside deck listening to the ocean makes the evening. The buffet " La Terraza" you would be hard pressed not to find something to enjoy - the grill that will do fish, chicken, pork or beef while you wait or the pasta bar are super.
The activities staff lead by it seems Elsie keeps the beach hopping from early morning to late evening – they gym is very good and morning yoga or tai chi is also available.
Our room overlooked the golf course and while not yet updated was still excellent and kept spotless by our room attendant Julia who did a phenomenal job and always left a beautiful presentation on our bed everyday – thank you so much Julia.
The management at the resort can be seen all day long ensuring customer service is attended to and in our experience all very approachable as the example is set by the Director General Francisco – so thank you and to Rey of course.
For sure we will be back and in fact have already booked two more weeks in April this year – we would not go anywhere other then the MLA. We cannot wait until April – thank you to the management and all the staff at the MLA [Details]

This is an adults only resort. More of a premium hotel, above the standard hotel rooms they offer concierge services as well as bungalow/suite upgrades if you are looking for separate living rooms/bedrooms or multiple bedrooms/washrooms.
Located at the Varadero golf course(2 minute walk to the club house from the lobby)
Short ride from downtown Varadero, maybe 10 minutes to the harbour. For $5 you can ride a tourist bus that goes between downtown and all the hotels for the entire day. Everything's pretty close by. Bank and shopping mall are at the adjacent property( 3 minute walk from the lobby). Hotel has a number of pools, swim up bar, the beach is spectacular. There are 4 a la carte restaurants, the international restaurant is very classy with a string quartet playing. Lots of entertainment on the beach during the day and evenings in lobby and theatre. Windsurf boards, paddle boats, kayaks, etc. right on the beach as well as hobie cats that will take you out snorkeling. We've been to this hotel a number times, basically the food is very good, beds are good, staff is helpful and we like the location and relaxing atmosphere. [Details]

This was our 4th time in this hotel and after 3 years we came back again. Since our last stay at this hotel I would say things wen't a bit downhill. Variety of food seems to be less attractive and really irritating thing is that lobster and steak dinner offered for an additional price. This is not a cheap all inclusive resort and in my opinion this is wrong marketing move. The other irritating thing are internet cards that you have to buy and every time you want to go on line you have to enter 12 digit card number and than 12 digit PIN. We missed previous hotel manager Bernard who was always there chatting with guests and greeting them. In all, we had very pleasant vacation exactly what we were hopping for. That terrace in front of the hotel and view that offers while you drinking your first morning espresso in unbeatable as well as the beach and warmth of the ocean. [Details]

This hotel exceeded our expectations. Never a shortage of food and tasted amazing! There was plenty to choose from always. The grounds were perfect and clean. Never missed hot water or air conditioning The hotel staff were amazing and fun to be with from Julio who played a different character every night and who made everyone laugh. There was also Bracken and Amed who did an amazing job to keep everyone entertained, Elena who served us at the buffet everyday with a beautiful smile and made sure we had all we needed.

We stayed in the Level bungalows and it was truly amazing, as it has been in our previous stays.

The servers at the level section on the beach, Nelson and Sergio are the best and most attentive to your needs.

The staff at the level concierge made check in easy and provided great services for our entire stay.

The entertainment staff on the beach Amed, Braskin, Etienne and Betsy (hope I got the names right) kept the fun going all day and night long. They all did a fantastic job getting everyone involved and having fun.

Our maid, May Lin who kept our room clean throughout our stay did a great job, really liked the towel origami she did.

Melia Las Americas has the most beautiful beaches and water that I have seen in my travels. The food at this resort is very good and has a great selection between the buffet and the A La Carte's.

We love this resort and we WILL return again. We enjoy the adult-only resort as the entertainment is excellent and geared towards adults. We love the beach there, the many pools, the rooms and the amenities. The food in the regular dining room has many choices and is very good and the 4 specialty restaurants on site offer more intimate dining with a variety including Japanese, Italian, European and BBQ. We love the fact that Golfing is included right next door, a short 5-minute walk away, on the lovely Varadero Golf Course, overlooking the ocean (cart rentals are charged). We like having the plaza next door (again, in walking distance) for casual shopping and some live entertainment. We highly recommend seeing the Buena Vista Social Club perform there on Wednesday evenings. The bus stop is a short walk from the resort lobby and allows you to travel to the town of Varadero or points eastward as a hop-on-hop-off trip. Very handy. My husband has brought his road bicycle on both of our last two stays and really enjoys riding throughout the peninsula. Lastly, and very importantly, we think the staff is phenomenal.... so professional and so friendly. They make guests feel welcome and relaxed. They make your holiday a pleasure from beginning to end! Relaxing Sun Filled Holiday!

We stayed at Melia Las Americas Feb 1-8 & April 20-27 2019.
Both trips were fantastic! Lots of beautiful sun filled days relaxing in our Cabana at the main pool.
From the moment we arrived we were again made to feel welcome!
The bellman are always very friendly and look after our bags with ease.
Check was quick. We were upgraded to the Level and directed to a private check in area in the main lobby. The Level staff were welcoming and provided a general overview of the services offered by the Level.
Our accommodations were located in the main hotel with a beautiful view of the main pool and the beach! Thank you for the beautiful rooms!
We spent our days at the main pool (steps from the beautiful beach) where Nelson, Raul and team work hard to ensure the pool and surrounding areas are always sparking clean and are on hand to provide whatever you need. Always with a friendly attitude and lots of smiles!
We ate breakfast mainly in the buffet because of the wide variety of food offerings and the great staff that work there. There are made to order options as well as prepared options to enjoy a full breakfast.
We also frequently had dinner in the buffet, again because of the wide variety of food options, such as made to order grilling station and pasta station. We were well looked after by Yussimi, Castro and colleagues.
On both trips we had dinner at La Arcarda. This restaurant provides an intimate atmosphere, live music and professional staff that make your experience one that you won't forget! The food is cooked to your specification and is beautifully presented! An excellent experience that we would highly recommend to other guests!!
Our favorite place for lunch is the Snack Bar. Alberto is a very hard working professional person who understands service, is very organized and pays attention to the little details. He has mentored Elvis over the past few years and together they make a great team. The food is always fresh and very tasty. The service is second to none and always with a smile and welcoming attitude!!
The Lobby bar staff, Raul, Javi, Sam, Rosanna, and Belkis provide excellent service. They handle large crowds with ease, make excellent drinks, take pride in their work and as well spend time teaching the junior staff members. They are always pleasant, entertaining and funny! They make a great team!!
The Customer Service team, Zahily, Isis, Osmani, Karina and Yelanie are working behind the scenes to ensure that their guests experience the holiday they dreamed of! I admire their tireless efforts, high level of professionalism and their genuine care and attention to the guests. They are there to help guests with any issue they may have. You can find them on the mezzanine level in the main lobby.
We also see many renovations and upgrades taking place at the hotel. Areas such as the washrooms near the bungalows, the Italian restaurant upgrades as well as many of the bungalows are under a full renovation. We heard that the hotel plans to continue with renovations to all accommodations over the next few years. We noted over the past few years the increased level of attention directed toward general maintenance. The common areas and grounds are kept clean, outdoor lighting works, walking pathways are well marked and free from obstructions. All Public washrooms are clean and stocked with supplies. I would like to acknowledge the hard work of the lady (I think her name is Betty) who cleans the beach area washrooms; she does an exceptional job. You will often find here scrubbing and disinfecting the washroom floors, cleaning the toilets and shining the vanity counter. She is very friendly and takes pride in her work. She not only keeps the washrooms sparking, she also brightens up the vanity area beautiful flowers.
In closing this is a beautiful hotel, the location is excellent and the beach is amazing… but those things can be found anywhere. What makes this place so special? The PEOPLE who work at Las Americas!!

MLA the very best

This was our 6th stay at the MLA and this time for 14 nights. We cannot say enough good things about the resort and its staff. We really enjoy it, in part because of its close proximity and unlimited golf at the Varadero Golf Course but also because of the entertainment, food and hospitality of the resort. The beach here is second to none.
The resort is adults only and has a great mix of patrons and the resort does an excellent job of providing entertainment from morning to late evening. During the day the activities at the beach/pool/gym and local music at the beach grill provide an added enhancement to a beach that is just fantastic.
The early evening entertainment at the outside patio or foyer is top notch with excellent violinists, sax players and pianists – a great way to have cocktail and relax before dinner.
And at 9:30pm every night there is the theatre that puts on a very entertaining show and is promoted all day by none other then Julio in his many costumes.
The food at the resort is super – four excellent a la carte restaurants – our favorite is the IL LIMONCELLO Not only for its selection of mediterranean food but we get there early for a table on the outside deck to watch the sunset. The Robleza is open air dining with Cuban cuisine – very good. La Arcada is a must with international cuisine and a live quartet adding to the atmosphere. The Japanese Sakura not only is good eating but super show cooking – an entertainment in itself.
While we really enjoy the a la carte the La Terraza or buffet has something for everyone – try the pasta bar or grill that will prepare fresh anything from fish to pork to chicken all with windows looking to the beach.
Our room at the hotel while dated has always been kept spotless this time by Rose-anna – while dated the beds were very comfortable and in a reception hosted by the new General Manager for returning guests, Francisco said they are into a 3 year renewal plan that includes the bungalows and main building – while hard to believe things can only get better. Our view of the water and golf course makes our day. The resort always appreciates returning guests and the new general manager seemed very approachable and introduced his entire management team to us.
The staff at the resort are very responsive and a pleasure to deal with.

Lives up to its reputation

Travelled with another couple both in are 30s. Both booked into level garden suites
Check in: arrived at 3am check in was quick.
Room: very spacious large rain shower bed more comfy than usual. Rain shower and glass blocks that let natural light in which is nice when your using shower but not so much when your trying to sleep in.
FOOD
Food was very good. Cook station with wide selection of meats along with pasta station. Only gripe was poor fruit selection/quality no salsa and lettuce seem to run out often
Service
Restaurants service was impeccable but bar was inconsistent. Drink service in the selected locations was also inconsistent made mistake of not bringing bubba mug
Entertainment
Most of it was top notch with great singing and instruments
Live music always good in lobby
Golf course is beautiful and was prepared to pay for cart/clubs
No night club but cheap clubs minutes away [Details]
