Cayo Paredon
I have travel a lot in my life. 2 time in DR, 2 time in Mexico 1 time in Jamaica and 11 time in Cuba. Here is my honest and precise review about this hotel.
we had great weather the hole week. it was only a bit cloudy on our arriving day (wish I had brought jean and long sleeve or a cute matching sweater outfit )and half of a day of raining 730-230. Again wish I had brought something to do on the raining day. Nothing to do as an alternative on the resort.
pros: -Pretty and Clean rooms -Good walking distance all around -2 very nice big pool -very big lobby area -swim up bar -outdoor esthetic very nice -coffee bar -24h snack bar and lobby bar -free mini catamaran ride on the beach -always chair available at beach and pool -free wifi
ick(cons): -only 5% of them are friendly, happy and make conversation with you -not a lot of animation/activities by the pool/beach -small variety of food for very big buffet room -not a lot of shows or night animation -no lobby entertainment before show(music) -room Ac was not strong -very slow ordering snack bar -drink were in paper cup -snack bar bathroom could be cleaner and door need to be fix -beach was mainly a bit rough on the feet (feel like crush seashell) -some drink made with powder flavor (daiquiri, margarita, Pina colada) -resort small store had odd open hours and not much option - 1 out of 4 card restaurant was good( amazing Italian) -slow table service at all; restaurant/buffet/snack bar -pool bar and towel service close at 4pm. Sun still there till 7pm.
Now I now that Cuba has always struggle a little compare to other country and that you don't go there for food and drinks but with all the trips I have done to Cuba, I have found some places were still better then this resort. It was okay for the week, just don't go to this resort with high expectations. The review of this hotel was a bit high for what it was.
the bartenders and servers where so serious. Its a bit of a party pooper mood when you are in a good mood and they are not. The servers took very long to bring you drinks, food, napkins, etc. There was not a lot of "live cooking" (stir fry, omelet, etc.) at the buffet specially for breakfast. The snack bar was very slow at getting your food and also mix up their order (we had people having their food before us when they arrived/order after us) the bathroom door at the snack bar where not closing properly and could be clean more often.
the only two ick about the room was that everyone had 2 day with no hot water and our room had some orange stain on the toilet bowl seat.
I understand Cuba resource are not so good specially after covid but I did not enjoy having paper cup (my first time ever) for the drink at the beach/pool. You had to drink it fast cause the cup where disintegrating.
There was barley any animation at the beach or pool. They would put music at the beach in the morning and early afternoon and then bring the music to the pool in later afternoon. no activity (volleyball, bingo, dance lesson, completions, etc.)
I would put this hotel a 3 and half star [Details]

Vila Gale Paredon - Pleasantly surprised
Grant, Blue Mountains, ON
2025-03-03
After many trips to Cuba, I vowed never to return to the country as I was unhappy with the past resorts. I took a chance with the Vila Gale and was pleasantly surprised by the selection of food and beverages and the quality of this resort. I have never been to a Cuban resort that not only offered red & white wine all the time but also sparkling wine. At the buffet there was a pasta station, meat and seafood freshly cooked. The resort is very clean in both the public areas and guests rooms. The grounds are constantly being manicured, and the beach is raked of any seaweed daily. Pros: The staff on the most part, are friendly and helpful. Just like any other operation, there will be a couple of employees that would rather be somewhere else than looking after guests. There was never a shortage of any food or beverage at this resort. On the flight home I heard stories from other resorts having shortage of bread and beer. There is a long unspoiled beach for very long walks. The room that we were in was very quiet, clean and comfortable. The pools were fairly large and very clean. I was amazed at the availability of sunbeds and lounges. The beach was wide and clean. There were plenty of loungers always available and shaded areas. The buffet area had plenty of seating both inside and outside. If your departure flight leaves later in the day, the resort has an area for luggage store and rooms to shower and prepare before leaving the resort. Must book in advance.
Cons: The room had nice pod coffee makers but did not have the pods available. If you are interested in having a coffee in your room, bring some capsule pods with you. Our room did not have hot water for 80% of our stay. I am not sure if that had something to do with the distance we were from the main building or something else. When I inquired about the lack of hot water, I received an eye-roll and was told it would be fixed in a couple of days. We finally received hot water the day prior to leaving. A couple of buildings were closed and underutilized. Not sure if this was due to low occupancy. During pre-dinner drinks in the lounge the music could be playing high levels. I am not sure if they believe that the louder the music the more enjoyment, but it was difficult speaking to the person beside you. Not pleasant.
The Via Gale Paredon is a newly built resort with a retro 60ish look. It is a long resort with three main pools which provides something for everyone. I have rated this resort as 5-stars. Is it on the same level as a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton? Definitely not, but by Cuba standards this resort deserves a high ranking. [Details]

Incredible Vacation at Vila Galé
Katia & Pierre, Oshawa, ON
2025-01-14
Last August, we celebrated our anniversary at Vila Galé, and it was such a fantastic experience that we decided to return for a second visit. This time was even better and the best decision we could have made.
Our White-Glove Service Concierges, Jennifer, and Raul, ensured our stay was exceptional. Julias Luis did a phenomenal job keeping our room spotless. He was friendly and kind and changed the sheets daily with great cooperation.
The outstanding staff throughout the resort enhanced our stay. The team went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Jennifer was particularly great with the kids. A big shoutout to Irene from Reception, Lele from Customer Service, and all the entertainment staff from the Pool to the Beach.
The pools were plentiful, the beach was beautiful, and there were several dining options. The gym was also top-notch. Overall, it was a wonderful week made even better by the amazing folks at Vila Galé.
This was our second family visit to Vila Galé, and we had an incredible time. We'll be back and 100% recommend Vila Galé to anyone planning a trip to Cayo Paredo. We love it so much that we've already reserved our spot for next August.
Thank you so much, jefe.ventas@vilagalecpg.co.cu, and much love to Carlos from the Hola Sun Crew! [Details]

Were there with my wife from Sept 10 - Sept 17. The weather was excellent 9 but very hot). Only one day for one hour heavy rain. The hotel is new, clean. The beach is not bad, 4 out of 5. Enough beach chairs. The resort is half empty. Only 30% - 40% of the rooms are with tourists. So - open only buffet, lobby bar, beach bar and 24 hours "restaurant (only ham & chees sandwich and cola, no beer, no alcohol). The rest is closed. I wanted to play piano - piano bar was closed "para siempre". Entertainment in the lobby, very modest. The hotel do not have theater. No show. The food: breakfasts - no eggs, no yogurt, no bacon, no pancake. Cheese is good, ham is terrible. Lunch and dinner are better. Very limited choice but eatable. Chicken every day, two times beef, two - three times pork. Chicken and fish on grill station, pasta station. A lot of mosquitos. For Canadians - the flight time is very inconvenient. In airport Cayo Coco came two or three flights at the same time. Passport control, luggage....everything was so long. And on the top of that Customs officers checked the luggage of many tourists. 22 times in Cuba and that was the first time. The bottom line - I would not recommend this hotel. [Details]

New hotel, good layout, 25 min from airport. The beach is not bad, not rocky, not steep, not shallow.

Time flight is not convenient, poor food, especially breakfast. a LOT of mosquitos, no whisky, no gin-tonic, can not make daiquiri, no eggs-bacon-pancake (only from powder), no yogurt. Don't have even beer in 24 hours "bar". juice is like water.
Sanitary measures
very good, very clean, all toilets are VERY clean.

Had a great time at this resort. The people, the beach and the pools are all wonderful. The housekeeper cleaned our room every day but the sheets were only changed once during the week. Had clean towels delivered daily but usually late in the day. Always had bottled water but nothing was ever put in mini fridge. Any issue we had was dealt with very quickly. The worst part of the trip was we were travelling with our 3 grandsons and the 24 hour snack bar was nonexistent . The one by the infinity pool never opened, the one by the beach was opened the first day, then only the grill with hot dogs, ham and cheese and tuna sandwiches was available and only til 7pm. Only shortages we noticed was bacon and cola (each bar had cola early in the day and then ran out, but the a la cartes had cola.. Food was good but seemed cool. Lots of pork, chicken and beef, veggies and some fruit [Details]

They advertise a 24 hour snack bar which was never open. The one at the beach was the same, closed.. The grill at the main pool only had hot dogs and sandwiches and only til 7pm. Only options were buffet and A La cartes which were had to book
