Huatulco

Staff and other guests very friendly. Most were grandparent vintage which was great. Breakfast was excellent. Room was older but clean. All questions answered to my satisfaction.

We enjoyed our recent stay at Las Brisas. Huatulco is beautiful and very hot! We did not really understand prior to going how spread out the resort is and how much walking/stairs were involved. We didn't mind it, but it would have been very difficult for anyone with mobility issues or small children. There are so many activities available at the resort, such as kayaking, paddleboat, sailing, volleyball, basketball, tennis, ping pong, pickleball, and organized pool activities, etc too. Always something to do! The food and drinks were decent (not fabulous) - lots of options at the buffets and the a la cart restaurants enjoyable. Our room was very large and met our needs well, despite perhaps looking a little worn or older. Nothing was specifically broken or problematic though and it was clean, so we were happy enough with the accommodations. All in all, a great vacation! We'd recommend it.

I enjoyed the hotel and the staff were very friendly. What was concerning is arriving after booking two double beds in an ocean front... and being offered a king sized bed for me and my friend. We had to wait until they could prepare a room for us. The Italian restaurant was my favourite and we dined there 3 times. The waiters and the atmotsphere were amazing. The Mexican was ok and we tried the seafood restaurant that we only found about after being there 3 days. It for some reason wasn't promoted. Another concerning thing that happened was when my friend and I went to get some smaller pesos from the front desk. We each gave the front desk clerk 3 - 200 pesos... and she gave us 20 pesos. She counted them out and it came to 600 ... but I recounted mine infant of her and there was only 500....my friend had requested the same transaction and had started to walk away as the girl and counted out 600 pesos to her as well. I called my friend back and she also only had 500 pesos. The front desk clerk gave her the other 100 pesos. Our housekeeper was amazing and always smiling. We had room service included and for the most part when I phoned in each morning I got the same person and he spoke very good English. The last couple of days we didn't get him and it was not a good experience ordering breakfast,, Everyday the order was wrong but we just ate it. One day we got another rooms breakfast and we ate it because we thought they didn't understand our order. 20 minutes later our breakfast arrived and we realized that we had someone else's meal. On our last day I had to speak to 4 different people to order breakfast as they didn't know what an egg was. The pool staff were there everyday cleaning the pool. The location is beautiful and waking up to our view of the ocean everyday or our large balcony was wonderful. Pool drinks weren't offered often and mostly I had to flag someone down, Our room was ok... but I wondered what the one that we had actually book was like. Our lamp was broken and our screen door had a huge gap in and and fell off at one point and I had to fix it. A fews days later we had a blow dryer and a curling iron plugged in, one in the bathroom and one in the sleeping area and our power went out, They were very quick at sending someone up to fix it. The beaches are well kept but not a good walking beach as it's on a slope and you sink in the sand. I would go back again because the staff were lovely and the hotel its self has a lovely location. English v Spanish was an issue more than once. We asked what time check out was with premium and both me and my friend heard 3 p.m. So when we went back to our room at 2 we were locked out of our room. We had a housekeeping let us in. They phoned our room twice asking us to get out. This was embarrassing and we truly understood that it was 3 p.m. Our driver was coming at 2:40 and we were all packed so we were able to vacate right away. I would return to the hotel and learn how to order breakfast in Spanish.

On at least 3 occasions we couldn't get into ou room because our key wouldn't work. Had air conditioning problems for over 2 days after countless calls to the front desk to no avail, We were also charged 2500 pesos for supposedly smoking in our room which was completely false. A lady at the front desk said she had photos, we asked to see them but she said no, of course she was lying, just a scam. Thankfully the owner/manager reversed the charge. We stayed at the park royal 8 years ago and had a great time, too bad it wasn't the case this time

We were greeted with an attentive staff. We spoke some Spanish which was helpful and the front desk persons all spoke english. The building was beautiful and rooms very generous in size and amenities.Water was available by the large jug. Chahue Beach is only 6-7 min walk away but probably not best swimming beach...great beaches are only 10-15 min taxi ride away and taxis are very inexpensive.

This place so disappointing . We ended up ordering out dinner . We even move to a different hotel for the first time in my life . It should be rated a 2 star ...
