Didn't disappoint

We stayed here for a week on a family vacation. We had 3 luxury suite ocean front rooms in the Coral Level at the Iberostar Cancun. The rooms were very nice, bed was comfortable, minibar stocked daily with local and American beer as well as red and white wine, pop, juice and water. There was a Nespresso machine with a combo of pods, teas and pretzels and chips or peanuts for snacks. The view from the room is amazing. The pool was laid back but had some good entertainment and games if you want to partake. Had to get up by 7am to get prime seating but on the beach there was almost always some lounger's available. For the restaurants, we usually don't care too much for buffets but this one was excellent for breakfast lunch or dinner. We had ribeye steak and lobster and crab multiple times. The steakhouse was pretty good with a salad bar appetizer bar. The Italian restaurant was better in our opinion. We didn't care too much for the Hibachi restaurant but it may have been an off night for the show chef. Didn't make it to the Mexican or American restaurants. The bars all had top shelf liquor, although you have to request it at the pool bars. The grounds were clean and the workers were very friendly. Nightly entertainment was ok. We really liked the singer and the Mexican mariachi. There is a bus stop just down on the main road that takes you up the hotel strip or downtown for 12 pesos in an air conditioned and comfortable bus. The beach was red flag for the week but people still went in the water and they had a very attentive lifeguard on duty. Playing in the waves and searching for seashells was fun. Check in and out was pretty efficient and the concierge was helpful. We rented the big cabana for a day poolside which was enjoyable having an air conditioned retreat with a private bathroom with shower. All in all we had a great time and if I was to return to Cancun hotel zone i would like to stay here again. [Details]

The strong points
The workers and food. Irma the lobby bartender stood out for me. She was fun and mixed excellent drinks.
The weak points
Could use some more loungers and shade areas.

Just came back from a week in Cancun. This resort was excellent, beautiful, clean, good service and lots to do. The bathtub on the balcony is a nice added touch. Would go back anytime. [Details]

The strong points
New, clean, great beach but it is the service that stands out above all else. Maria and Carlos are exceptional.
The weak points
The resort next door is loud during the day (an animator shouts and cheers in an unnecessary microphone) but it is quiet at night.
