This was my first family-friendly all-inclusive as an adult. I travelled with my husband's parents, and sister-in-law with her husband and infant.
At the resort, everyone was friendly and respectful, and our family was very comfortable, especially since travelling with our own infant. I think it helped that the resort wasn't at full capacity.
The location was perfect, only 30 minutes from CUN airport. The view was impeccable, rooms were spacious, food was diverse, restaurants were delicious, and the staff were very friendly. The Bluewater rooftop restaurant was particularly good.
Downsides: The beach was quite small and the amenities left something to be desired. There was only one pickleball court and pool table each. The pickleball court was nearly impossible to play on because the ball doesn't bounce on the material. The pool table was also old and wobbled. Without active children, it felt like there was little to do around the resort for the other adults.
A hotter jacuzzi would be an excellent addition.
Another interesting experience was someone from "VIP Services" really wanted my husband and myself to attend Hyatt's membership sales presentation. It was interesting to consider but there was immense pressure to sign up immediately and irrevocably without providing much documentation or paperwork. The entire presentation was 2.5 hours, but we were able to negotiate (beforehand) to try their paid experience "The Chef's Table" dinner for our 7-person family, which everyone really enjoyed. I think it was a good trade and was glad that we could negotiate a deal. [Details]

The hotel and resort in general has all of the parts to make it a great spot, but falls a little short. We had a number of issues during our stay, which the hotel worked to remedy in a quick manner, but cheaping out on the construction of the property lets the whole place down. Firstly, all the restaurants were great! The food quality was excellent. The buffet was underwhelming though. We mostly ate at the restaurants. Shout out to the Mexican restaurant, best fish I have had in a while and I live in Vancouver.
The issues... Night 1, the power went out and the generator kicked on at 4am. Didn't sleep after that. Night 3 the TV died, was replaced promptly. Night 4 the wifi (and TV service) died, was fixed the next day. They offered to move us rooms but that would have been a greater hassle.
Generally the building has issues. The plumbing was always making noise out of the bathroom and the shower drain was inconsistent in its ability to function. The worst was the rooftop pool, the filter system is greatly underpowered. The pool had lots of gross things floating in it that never seemed to be filtered out. The roof of the gym seemed to be falling down as well without any attention.
There also seemed to be a wedding going on almost every day which brought in a lot of loud big parties. [Details]

This was my wife and I's 4th trip to the Cancun “hotel zone”. We have always stayed at Adults Only, all inclusive resorts. We use a new 5 star operator each time, to enjoy our holiday. This operator, which we're reviewing with you now, is the first to have truly disappointed us. It was also the first time we brought our 7 year old child so we know it's not adults only, but there was not enough for my son to do. The restrictive water park hours really was a huge bummer. This resort is not a 5 star, in my opinion. Maybe a 4.5stars, and even that is debatable perhaps. There are just too many annoying nuances and negative points to write here. Maybe our expectations are too high, but I've previously only stayed at 5 star resorts, and this is not one of them. Nope. Suffice it to say, by checkout time on the last day, it's the first time we felt happy to be leaving, as opposed to sad to be leaving, which has been our experience on all 3 previous excursions.
With respect to the kids friendly feature, it's not that great for a 7 yr old kid. I thought the water park is okay, but then, it only runs certain times of the day. This was a major drag. The food selection EVERYWHERE for kids is as follows :
Pizza (veg/pepperoni) Hot dogs Nuggets (not good at all, not white meat) Mojos (actually pretty good) French Fries (not the greatest)
We will never use this operator again. Pure and simple. [Details]

I had a great time at the hotel with my family of 5, while the beach and location are not the best, but what makes this hotel an amazing place, especially for family, is the cleanliness, the safety, the amazing view and most importantly the warmth of the people, OSCAR and HECTOR at the preferred club always made us feel welcome, they made sure we were taken care of, encourage us to try their drink to make our day better, their kindness was unmatched as well as the service of all the other staff members we came across, and who can't forget JUAN at the beach walking in the heat making sure we have towels and drinks. I would recommend this hotel especially if you have family. [Details]

Beautiful resort with many suite options. We stayed in a Preferred Corner Suite. The views from these suites are spectacular. Loved being able to open the sliding glass doors for a lovely breeze. Also enjoyed being a preferred guest and having access to the rooftop pool and restaurant/bar area for lunch. [Details]

The strong points
The staff are very friendly and try their best to meet all your requests. Special shoutout to Juan who organized a special dinner for my birthday.
The weak points
Unfortunately there is a serious problem with the temperature of the food at the morning buffet. We mentioned it several times during our stay and it improved marginally by the end of the week.
Sanitary measures
They have many hand sanitation stations at the buffet but they don't get used much by the guests. Service tongs and spoons touched by hundreds of people. Also I did not see staff wiping down high touch areas on a regular basis.
