Poorly maintained place where half opened by private people and a few rooms by Sunwing. Rooms from Sunwing are dirty, bathrooms needed renovations long time ago. If your room is not facing the lagoon, it will be public parking or old smelly restaurant. Linens they use old and far to be fresh. Blankets- disaster. Kitchen is on the open terrace and full of insects. We had a car and only slept over nights there , the rest looks like dying nursing home. This place is not worth than $80 per night and max 2 stars motel. [Details]

This is an older hotel. When we arrived there was no one to greet us as we arrived after 9 pm and there didn't seem to be anyone around except the security guard that didn't speak any English. The room we entered that night on the top floor was very smelly and we discovered in the bathroom the pipe for the toilets was open and we could smell septic. Next day we asked for another room and they gave us one on the second floor with no issues. Apparently all top floors have this open pipe in the bathrooms. The new room was much better - no smell issues. As I said this was an older hotel, mattresses very old and uncomfortable. Great kitchenette on the balcony very well equipped. Staff was pretty friendly and helpful when we asked. The opportunity here in St Martin is you don't have to stay at the hotel all day. You can rent a car easily in the front lobby and go to all the fabulous beaches on St. Martin and there are lots! Bakery close by to pick up breakfast and lunch or dinner if you wish or they did have a restuarant on the grounds which served pretty good food. Lots of great restuarants on the island. We would go back again but not at this hotel. We've had better rooms with the same amount of stars. This place is centrally located which is great. Their beach was terrible. Dogs roaming around and pooping on the beaches. Saw one person pick up the poop and throw it into the water which was disgusting! We had no issues with the staff and we felt pretty secure there. They assisted us with anything we needed. Great view of the lagoon and airport from the room. [Details]

The strong points
Centrally located between the French & Dutch side, not overly busy. Great kitchenettes on the balcony well equipped. Nice pool area, only one was open, the other was "under maintenance."
The weak points
Rooms need updating. Non smokers need to be in an area with other non smokers. Needs better beach area.

Hotel badly needs updating. Breakfast serving raw scrambled eggs. Could not get a decent nights sleep due to the bed being as hard as a rock, as well as noises from other rooms. [Details]

Quite good quality for the price; sometimes descriptions are misleading so 'below expectations', but all in all the hotel is quite good (Note: we are French-speaking) But the location is bad unless you rent a car: getting a bus out is easy, a bus back to the hotel is difficult. [Details]
