Enjoyable 40th Anniversary week at the Windjammer!

, Burlington, ON
2024-03-10
My husband and I (both in our 60's) and a fun week at the Windjammer! We had a lovely couples massage! So glad we did! I wish I'd taken a picture of the glass of champagne and slice of cake (with "Happy Anniversary") we were given afterwards! We considered doing an excursion, but there was so much to do on our own at the "Water Sports" area, we decided against it. The guys there were awesome! I can't possibly remember everyone's names, but Howard was very friendly & knowledgeable! He took us out on the large catamaran! We loved it! Denver & Kirston took my husband out to water-ski! A big thrill for him as he hadn't done that for many years! We also had fun snorkeling, kayaking, and using the water board! The water was clear and warm. The beach was nice to walk in bare feet, but some little areas had small stones that would wash up sometimes. Out by the hammocks in the water it was very rocky so we only tried that area once. Our spot on the beach was amazing!! They actually assign you a spot, and you're to leave a personal item at your spot (stationary umbrella with loungers, tables, & chairs) before 10am or someone can take your spot. We didn't know that was a rule until the day before we were leaving and found someone sitting in the spot we'd had all week :( We got there about 10:15am. Evidently our name was not written in the book ..... ? so it was ok for someone else to take it. We were given another spot 3 rows back :(
Roti was looking after us & was very helpful. Lawrence on the front desk was super helpful! I was so glad to meet Gabriella the day before we left. She was doing the house cleaning in our room & did such a wonderful job! Everything clean and tidy when we'd come back to the room before getting ready for dinner. Maybe leaving a few dollars each day for her helped too. I also left little things like chocolate bars each day.
The employees all so very friendly, and many remembering our names! The servers in all the restaurants were extremely friendly & accommodating! We thought taking a shuttle to and from our room would be a problem, but was just the opposite! The drivers were no less than amazing! I would barely hang up the phone, and the shuttle was at our door. The ride only took a minute or two. A few odd times we had to wait a bit going back to the room from the lobby as it could get busy there. Our king size bed was super comfortable! The shower had to run about 10 minutes before getting hot water & water pressure very low, but not an issue with us. We had a problem getting Netflix working on our TV. Someone came to our room that night to help. He tried his best, but needed additional help. They had it all set up the next afternoon for us!
The advice we would give to others is to book your spot on the beach before coming to the resort. If that is allowed? Also, we'd advise you to reserve all your dinners before coming. Those two things were a bit of an issue the first day. We were told no loungers or spots were available on the beach for our stay (isn't that ridiculous?) And we were told all the restaurants were fully booked for dinner (crazy eh?) Anyway, we kept pushing for a beach spot and also for dinner reservations. We ended up booking all the dinners the first day or we were afraid we wouldn't get reservations if we'd left it. Once that was smoothed over we had a fantastic time! [Details]

Nice Vacation

, Windsor, ON

This resort is very nice.We stayed very close to the lobby. So we didn't use the shuttle. But if you stay up on the hill you have to call the shuttle every time you want to go to eat or to the beach.
If I'll go again to St.Lucia, I will choose WINDJAMMER LANDING Resort.
The only problem we had was the WindMart.
The prices are not displayed and they charge how much they want, and different from vendor to vendor. [Details]

The Winjammer is a superb property that has evrything a heart would desire. The staff at the resort are extremely friendly. The food id outstanding , although the beverage are a bit expensive ($10 for a piint of he local brew is a bit over the top for me).
Te rooms are very comfortable, all with extremely delightful views. We will most certainly return. [Details]

Wonderful and then some!

We had a wonderful time at Windjammer. The staff was amazing from the concierge, staff at the front desk, to the restaurant staff, housekeeping (who noticed my husband kept using the creamers but not making coffee and left extra), to the water sports staff, maintenance staff and the shuttle drivers, and anyone we have missed. The resort had so many restaurants and offered water activities (we learned to paddle board and kayak) - but that iceberg is not so easy to climb. You could also windsurf and waterski. We did the Land and Sea tour, which was really interesting and a lot of fun; I later learned that Windjammer offers a similar tour. We had lunch between the pitons at the Stonefield resort (thank you for taking us there Matt, the view was spectacular as was the food and service). Rodney Bay was so clean and such a nice area to shop in. We are returning next year and can't wait. Thank you everyone for all of the work in making our 25th anniversary and 50th birthdays special! The strong points
The staff, location and overall atmosphere. Everyone was available to help out. Overall, I don't know what else anyone could have done, it was amazing.
The weak points
The resort is on the side of a large hill. We tended to walk up and down, but for some this may be an issue. That said, there are shuttles available all the time to move clients around the resort.

The Windjammer was incredible. The service is impeccable. We could not have asked for better people to deal with on our vacation. Our incredible Concierges, Laurence and Helen, were so helpful. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. The shuttle drivers were all wonderful - especially Kennedy. [Details]

Great time!

Windjammer Landing was one of the better places I've stayed in the Caribbean and I will definitely go back some day. My villa was fabulous and much more than I expected. The shuttle drivers were amazing and took great care to ensure we were well looked after, as with the rest of the staff. Papa Don's and Upper Deck restaurants were amazing! I highly recommend Windjammers. [Details]

The strong points
The villas are amazing and the view from the hillside is fabulous. The dive shop on site was great and a good safe and fun outfit to dive with. The best part of the week was meeting so many other Canadians and many people from England and Wales!
The weak points
For all inclusive guests I would prefer the bracelet system to signing bills each time as it took much longer each time you ordered something.

It was a beautiful spot right in front of the ocean with sand beach. Negitives-very expensive, long waits, only 2 days out of a week they have live music. Food became tiresome, as menus in resturants never changed. [Details]
