My honest review of the resort.. it was fantastic. We were there March 22nd to 29th, in Block 4. Our room was dated, but clean, we had no issues with it.. comfy bed, and the safe worked. The buffets were excellent.. something for everyone, variety of breads, meat, veggies, fruit, potatoes/rice/pasta and of course dessert! Breakfasts were delicious as well, I loved the omelet station. The a la cartes were very good as well, and we didn't have any issue making reservations.. but I was up at 8 a.m by the lobby with good wifi, to make sure we could get in.
The shows were great, we quite enjoyed the Mexican night.. it was a great farewell, as it was our last night there. The lobby bar was my favourite.. because of Spanish coffee ☕️ ❤️, though all were excellent. We enjoyed the pools, the adult only one by the end of our week was our favourite because we loved the iguanas! The beach was great of course, we loved the "resort dog", what a sweetheart.. my hubby loved boogie boarding, those waves are awesome! Every staff member we encountered was very friendly. I'd definitely recommend the resorts to friends and family, and would love to return next year! Off resort, we walked around town a few times, felt safe, enjoyed the different shops, galleries and architecture. We took a cab to El Crocodrile Sanctuary and really enjoyed that.. we had a fantastic trip! [Details]

On fist arrival every thing was great. Finding a spot on the beach or around a pool was IMPOSSIBLE. The interesting thing is there is LOTS of empty chairs. What we learnt was that folks got up and got put towels up at the beach, at the children's pool and at the activity area. Then these folks left their towels and went to their other spot. They say they keep a record of towels … how many towels can a person get? [Details]

Check in was very smooth. For the first time in 18 years of group (6) travel we were placed next door to each other. Block 1 worked well for us, some might find it very noisy. Map given to us at check in is useless as it is so tiny you need a magnifying glass to read it. They do have large maps on boards around the resort so that is good. We found a whole new pool two days before we left! Enjoyed the adult pool, and the beach. It is true the chairs are hard and require a blow up floatie for comfort. We brought from home but are available to buy at the resort or stores are close by. Loved this location as it is close to a major store, bus access to either PV or north, and a close walk to Bucerius. Lots of different ages at this resort. Might be boring for teenagers. Did not attend any shows so cannot comment on them. Enjoyed our stay. [Details]

The hotel was great. Always clean and the housekeeping team were wonderful! The food was mostly good but could tell that some of the buffet items were leftovers from previous meals. The seafood was delicious but it wasn't offered as much as I had expected. The amenities were average. My only complaint was that our room was right in front of the "adult only pool" and I had a child with me. I think that the "check in team" should have put us in a room closer to a pool we could access. Overall though, it was a great experience and I would go back again. [Details]

Clean resort, food was very good with alot of choice. Decor was a bit tired and needs to be updated. The restaurants were impossible to get into because of a bad booking system. We were only there for a week so buffet was our only choice. Very limited wi-fi. Could not get it in our room. [Details]

Hotel needs an upgrade. You can reserve specialty dining, but they only allowed 50 people at one time. They had 3 sittings so you were rushed. You could only reserve at 8:00 am and it was like a lottery. They need to find a better way. Internet was available in 2 spots in the whole complex. [Details]

Our experience at the resort was good. All the staff are fantastic and very helpful. All the pool areas are great our favourite was by the main pool because all the activities go on there. Unfortunately the wifi wasn't great and you needed it to book a reservation for the restaurants however the staff was great at booking it for us. All in all it was a fantastic vacation. [Details]

It was a wonderful time for us! A family of 6 that are new to traveling and it felt safe, fun and overall a great experience. We would probably make a few different choices next time like learning how to book Ala Carte and rent chairs and umbrellas for the beach, and bring a stroller for the toddler. [Details]

On arrival at hotel ....not very welcoming was dark and far to walk to block 6....
Room not very clean mirrors night tables lamps .....needs new dressers couldn't open them...
Food always same thing missing a grill section...

We booked this hotel strckly on location. We were a large group that wanted to explore Bucerias. The Decamerons location was ideal. All though I new the Hotel was dated and not a 5 star I was still very disapointed in the resort.
I found the buffet food was lacking in taste but the variety was ok. The Italian dining was good but the rest not so much.
Our room was very old and showed it. The AC worked great. The doors to the patio and the main door a child could break into. The bathroom door was broken and rust everywhere. Toilet was soiled on the outside on arival. We will not return. [Details]

Hot and humid in September. Comfortable bed, amazing views. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Food was ok at buffet and pretty good at specialty restaurants. Not a fan of the restaurant reservation system though. Chairs around the pool and the beach are horrible. Very close to town (Bucerias) [Details]

Worst resort . AC does not work for ocean front rooms , no hot water in rooms . They say it's all inclusive but fridge is empty and you have to ask for even water otherwise you only get 2 bottles a day regardless of your room type and room members . Very bad and will never recommend to anyone . [Details]

So this is like a complex, very different from other resorts like Riu, wyndham. In summers, they had majority Spanish speaking crowd. food at buffet was was below average. Beaches were nice, safe and peaceful. Bar attenders were good. Drinks were a little diluted, so ask for double. location is 30 mins drive to downtown PV and zona romantica. If you are looking for party scene, this is not the right spot. Would not recommend for solo travelers unless you are looking for only peaceful vacation. [Details]

We have been to this resort now 10 times. We love the simplicity of the resort. It is very clean with great staff. This is nothing fancy but the rooms are clean and the food is good. The beach is great and having the ability for a family section along with an adults only area is a great mix. It is a great place to just hang out and relax [Details]

We enjoyed our stay at Royal Decameron, the workers ensured the resort was spotless, the servers were always there to help you during mealtimes. The variety of food and beverage was great. The scenery was stunning, iguanas at lunch in one restaurant, we spotted a Coatie while waiting for our a la carte to open and had geckos on our balcony every evening and spotted dolphins most mornings. The activity staff always had something to do for any age. Front staff were always s helpful when you made an inquiry for anything at the resort. We will definitely return. [Details]

Staff, facilities, cleanliness of grounds-pools-beach area, good mix of meats & fruit & vegetable dishes
The music from the disco ridiculously loud. It didn't matter which unit you stayed in the wall pounded from 10:30pm to 2am.
Hard to find a garbage can in a few areas. [Details]

Food wasn't that good. Rooms are terrible, pee coming out of the bottom of the toilets. Wouldn't pay 10 bucks to go there again. No wifi anywhere either [Details]

This is about the 15th time we have chosen the Royal Decameron for our vacation. It is a special gem of a place, good mix of food, fun, beach, sun and good time. Luv it. [Details]

First impression upon arrival lovely hotel, after a few days you can see that hotel facilities are neglected. Bathrooms in the hotel are old and smell. cracked tiles, facets are old - basically everything needs to be updated. Hotel staff are very nice and want to accommodate where-ever possible. Food looks amazing for the first few days, then you realized it s the same thing every day - not much variety. The all carte is extremely hard to book, due the availability. [Details]

We were recommended to stay here by CMQ hospital. We arrived March 1, 2023 and stayed til March 29, 2023. My surgery for my hip replacement was March 7th. I was out on the 9th. The Assistant Manager, Jimmy Santana and Jaimie in Guest Services were amazing in meeting my needs for wheel chair assistance; my Therapist and Head nurse coming to see me; and because I had to stay in my room for 2 weeks, they let my wife bring food to my room. They both inquired about me several times to see how I was doing! Excellent Guest Services!! [Details]

This is an amazing resort in PV. The food was good. Every worker were great. The bar employees were very nice, in special Francisco. In general every person working in this resort provided a friendly atmosphere. [Details]

Our expectations were tempered based on our travel agent's input; 3-3.5 star resort, dated rooms, minimal wifi but otherwise reliable, safe and charming.

Check-in: a little hectic (isn't it always?) but straight-forward, porters were available and efficient. Was disappointed the safety deposit key wasn't included with check-in, you had to sign it out from the cashier during the day (specific hours, "Back in 30 minutes"...from when? haha. I tended to always go by when they were on break.)

Everything was as expected; I was happy the room was clean, the view was of the ocean, the AC worked (ahhhhh) and the beds were pretty comfy (totally subjective).

Food: there was ALWAYS food to be found, if you were hungry. Buffets: I generally have mixed feelings about buffets but was pleased with what was available. Lots of choices, we could always find something we enjoyed as well as try regional dishes. The general consensus was the ala carte restaurant online booking was a challenge, which was frustrating for many people. We did manage a night at the Brazilian steak option, which we found disappointing but we were glad we gave it a try.

Grounds: they were awesome, the landscaping was in such great shape, the poolsides were clean and the paths were well maintained. We were SO STOKED to see the iguanas around (mostly at the adult pool) and I loved playing "spot the gecko" as I walked the halls. (keep your eyes on the lights)

Bars: the bartenders are so lovely and fun. We weren't too demanding of them but appreciated how fast, efficient and willing to do learn how to make you happy with DRINKS!

Entertainment: We were able to catch a few shows at the theatre; they were fantastic! Great performers, fun shows. A few nights, I found I was getting a few insect bites so you may want to consider some bug repellant. I wish the shows weren't quite as late (9:30pm...so get that siesta in!) but we're glad we swung by.

Pool/Beach: Gorgeous beach, great pools. Our main/biggest/most frustrating gripe was the palapas/umbrella hunger games every day. People were reserving chairs at INSANE HOURS OF THE MORNING AND SOMETIMES THE NIGHT BEFORE. It's insane. We had no choice but to get up early to "reserve" chairs otherwise we'd have no shaded place to enjoy that day. Ugh, the worst. We also found some people leaving the chairs reserved while they went to town or here n there which sucks. There's a strange entitlement that we witnessed that left a bad taste in our mouths. Would you reserve a parking space to use later in the day? No. The chair reserving culture has clearly been established but the next time I go, I'll just use whatever chairs aren't in use and if someone shows up to claim "their spot", I'll move onto the next. I don't know how the resort could alleviate this issue but it was definitely the worst, most stressful part for me. DESPITE THAT, we were able to enjoy some lovely days relaxing poolside as well as on the beach, which ultimately we were hoping for. (Even just reflecting on this got my stress levels up. Haha. Phew. Breathe. Ahhh.)

Wifi: limited and spotty but I knew that going in. Based on the number of people who were huddled in the wifi hubs, I could tell this was an issue. I needed access for work reasons so I used my roaming (which sometimes was spotty as well) but ya know, on vacation in Mexico, sometimes things don't work as well. That's the way it is.

Location: I loved being able to walk into Bucerias. We got roped into a timeshare tour (HAHA) which actually ended up being the most amazing day we had offsite (free transportation through PV to the other side, breakfast, cool tour of a fancy place, ziplining in the jungle and an awesome open-air shuttle back to the hotel! 9am-7pm day of adventure, all for the low low, happy hour price of 1000pesos/$55 usd). But I digress...we ubered into Sayulita & San Francisco (San Pancho); SO MUCH cheaper than a taxi with the added benefit of safety, peace of mind, knowing the pricing going into it and knowing who is driving you, what they've been user-rated as and in what vehicle. DOWNLOAD THE UBER APP BEFORE YOU GO, I highly recommend!

Overall: We booked here based on our budget and quick turnaround. We hadn't been to Mexico in years and needed to getaway. We would come back here if we want the same kind of experience and we would recommend to others as well. (All-inclusive, safe, secure, quiet, beautiful, great beach, etc). Again, with realistic expectations we were so happy with our vacation and everything that Royal Decameron offered us. [Details]
