Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar

Nothing short of excellent, superb and with the best of support from the friendly staff, i will be referring this location to many of my friends. [Details]

Hotel is no more than 3 stars. Rooms and bathrooms are very outdated and need to be renovated. We had multiple leaks during rain in room and bathroom. Very limited staff, no services provided beside cleaning rooms. Three times visited front desk during 2 days until requested crib was finally delivered to the room. Very limited choice of food especially at breakfast and lunch. We were not sitting hungry, but has been eaten every day the same kind of food and did not enjoy it. At lunch time very often empty food trays were not replenished with food. Very good Kids Club with a lot of activities for kids age 4-13. Carousel on Plasa did not work during our 2 weeks stay. Frustrating practice to occupy seats on the beach before 7:00am that were not prevented or stopped by beach securities. The non-smoking policy with signs on the beach was constantly violated by vacationers without any action from beach security. Hotel was full, so management did not care about improving anything. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. [Details]

Beautiful resort! The landscape alone is wonderful. The wildlife walking around (coati, flamingos, turtles, black swan) turns the head wherever you walk. This is not a small resort but lots of shuttle cars for times walking is not preferred. Food was excellent and buffets were well stocked. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We were not pressured to partake in a presentation for time share. Asked, answered no and that was it. [Details]

Nice resort, better for families than for couples. Very large so bring some walking shoes. Long walks for food, and the overlap of when certain restaurants are open can be challenging. [Details]

We had the opportunity to visit the hotel for 5 days. We enjoyed all the attention staff and management provided to ensure we had a relaxing family holiday. The restaurants were all superior as well as the buffet options. Due to clement weather the beach was closed for swimming, yet several pools made our stay more enjoyable, including a visit to neighbouring Playa del Carmen. Overall highly recommend the hotel. Went as a group of 6. From the moment of arrival, the service was fantastic! There was always someone to greet, help and offer a ride around the grounds via golf cart. The check-in desk was quick and efficient. We got a ride to our rooms, as the property is a bit big. It is absolutely doable to walk, but I would encourage taking the rides. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Rooms were spacious and clean. A new towel animal on the bed, replenished bar fridge daily. Restaurants offered something for everyone! The pool is the biggest in Mexico. I recommend taking a float to hang out all day. The Towel hut can even inflate it for you. Drinks were good. Not too strong. Night club played great music, and the main center offered shopping, crafts, Ice Cream, Taco's, Church, Casino and more! We were there during the Super Bowl, and they had a big get together in the convention center for all guests of the 5 properties. It is a great place to mix and mingle with other hotel guests if you choose. Overall, this was our favorite trip! We did a few excursions that we booked through the hotel as well. We explained what we wanted to do, and were offered several experiences that we could choose from. The hotel also offers daily shuttles to Playa del Carmen for a small fee, and that was a great day away as well. You can catch the ferry and visit Cozumel. So much to see and do, that we look forward to going back to do it all over again, and MORE! [Details]

We really enjoyed our stay. People were friendly and accommodations were great. There is a pride of ownership in many of the associates. Resort was very clean, and there was always a friendly hello/olla when they crossed your path. Food was great, nice to have the late hour small buffet open each night. Fun shows, lots of energy. We stayed at the Iberostar Tucan 2 years ago and loved the Iberostar experience which lead us to book the The Iberostar Del Mar. It is much bigger than the Tucan so be prepared to get your steps in. We had a room near the pool in the centre and it was a 10min walk to buffet and 10min the other way to the beach.
You are able to access the amenities at the sister resort Paraiso Beach. You are not able to access the food or get served at the Lindo or Maya but you can walk on their resorts. [Details]

This resort does everything well. Decent food; fantastic beach; nice rooms; friendly attentive staff ; good people all around. WI FI is everywhere. Pool area is fun...lively but also has quiet spots. Atmosphere is positive everywhere.

There are five versions of Iberostar resorts lined up and connected next to each other with lush tropical gardens intertwined with local wildlife. The rooms were large and kept very clean however at the Del Mar there were no beach views, only garden views. The pool is very long and meanders through-out the resort with something for everybody, activity pool, children's pool, quiet area, plenty of sunbeds and palapas. Food was good, service was good, excellent entertainment. [Details]

We stayed for 10 days and enjoyed each one. The staff were great, thank you to Lalli (events), Cindi (pool service) and Roger (beach service). Clean rooms, good food, great entertainment, and the weather was perfect. Be sure to try the Japanese restaurant, it's a great show as well as a great meal. Plenty of wildlife and great landscaping, one of the better resorts as far as overall design goes. Highly recommended. [Details]

This was my first time staying at an Iberostar and, based on our experience, I will definitely look to their properties when travelling in future. The resort and grounds are beautiful, the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and the rooms very comfortable. [Details]

I've stayed at many resorts, but never an Iberostar until now, and this ranks as the nicest looking resort of all my travels. Its very grand looking with beautiful gardens throughout. The pool, and poolside amenities are remarkably good. There was never a lineup at any of the bars, and was a wide selection of premium liquor at no extra charge. I've never been a big fan of Mayan Riviera beaches, but this one is slightly better than most on the Mayan. The food was only average, but the staff were excellent. The resort is very spread out and this makes for lots of walking. The walks are beautiful and enjoyable, but if you have a busy vacation schedule, you may find the long distances within the resort a bit frustrating. All and all, if I ever return to they Mayan, I would stay there again. [Details]

It was a nice hotel with friendly workers but the distance you had to walk to the lobby and to the pool was ridiculous! There were supose to be rides but they were never there! [Details]

We enjoyed every single minute there and plan to go again with all family and recommended to our friends. Sea pleasant warm early morning, 7:00 AM we were swimming.Day entertainment, activities were beyond expectation, even if I would be alone I would never be bored there.

This resort is huge, great for people who like to walk, transportation system not very reliable at night. Beautiful grounds with lots of wildlife which we thought was cool and totally different from other resorts we have visited in Rivera Maya and other parts of Mexico. Food - we always found something to eat that we liked at the buffet restaurant. We went to 3 a la cart restaurants , we enjoyed all of them, especially steak house and Brazilian restaurant. We loved the choice of liquor and coffee at the lobby bar but all the other bars served great drinks and staff were extremely friendly and very efficient. Life music in the lobby in the evenings was a great touch at the end of the day. Beach was nice,enough beach chairs for everybody. It was nice to have a snack bar handy at the beach. Pools are huge and beautiful, we enjoyed them every day. We hoped for a great and relaxing vacation and we left very satisfied and well rested. Thank you Iberostar. [Details]

The hotel was beautiful. Took tons of pictures of the jungle-like grounds and the beautiful buildings. Fourth trip to Maya Riviera and have stayed at the Bluebay Esmerelda and The Princess. The Iberostar rocked it totally!Smaller resort which was quieter and easier to navigate.The beach was paradise. Would definitely return. [Details]
