Loud Music, limited good food

, Hinton, AB

Half of the food choice is not good at all while the other is just o.k. (from the included breakfast buffet). Many flies will try to share your meals (I am not really worry for that). Staff doesn't quickly pick up dishes as long as we are in the restaurant. Others meals (buffets) seem inexpensive but it isn't specified without asking.

Very bothering loud music at the swimming pool, enough to avoid the place. Kind of bar ambiance to sell food and drinks. That swimming pool is deep which is great but ...

Nice beach just beside, not noisy, minimal waves.

Frequent buses for Havana for $1 Cuban or less (depends if the driver care). I paid around (usually) $0.50. But be ready, the buses are cheap and o.k. if you like to travel as in a can of sardines and be ignored because the !can! is already full.

Money exchange at the reception. Bring your canadian's bills as it isn't a better deal to use the $us.

No remote control tv for most rooms as I could figure. But there are few channels to stick on.

All rooms with balcony, private entrance and at the street level.

I checked in at around 6 a.m. (far from the Varadero airport) and was checked out at 11 a.m. the week after. The return bus was at 11 p.m. So! The 7 nights ended up to be 6.2 then .5 day without room.

My door room needed a better handle. Room is very basic. [Details]

The strong points
Absolutely inexpensive at the dates that I was there. Kind of private room as a maximum of 2 rooms might be sharing our walls. Clean area. Far from Havana but close enough for frequent visits.
The weak points
Control remote tv not really available. Loud music at the swimming pool. Internet available (at the reception) but extremely expensive. Paid for 7 night but barely got 6.2.
