Good value you get what you pay for.

They are working hard to update this older property. Our bungalow was spacious and was nice to have a mini fridge, no cutlery or dishes of any kind provided. Buffet breakfast included in our room was good. Our maid Anita amazing and friendly. About a 2.5 star property. Money exchange at hotel never has any local currency so exchange on arrival at airport. The strong points

Location, restaurants, bars on site. lots of hot water and AC in bungalows not in main hotel.

The weak points

Pool not really clean, front desk staff and pool staff not interested in assisting clients little English spoken and currency exchange service non existent the answer is always no and do not accept credit cards.

Cuba is in a developing world, and on an Island without US trade. For the price we paid (very little!!), we were grateful for the friendly staff, the gorgeous swimming pools, the wonderful live entertainment, the wide selection for breakfast buffet, the next door market, close to local restaurants and stalls, and the convenience of booking tours onsite. Some guests we spoke to were disappointed, but their expectations were not realistic. There is no sandy beach at this end of the city. [Details]

The strong points

gorgeous pools, on the ocean, great breakfast selection, great live entertainment, ease of booking shows and excursions, nearby local food stalls and vendors, lots of locals and Latinos made a great cultural vibe

The weak points

no sandy beach, poor internet, first room had no hot water but they changed rooms

Very happy with the hotel (bungalow). Excellent for someone who wants to be close to the beach and to the cultural activities of La havana. Less happy with a bill of $ 15.00 at the end because we staued up to 16:00h in the room, the last day. To me this was kind of ridiculous since we paid for a package and the bus was coming at 16:00h.

Nevertheless, very happy with this trip.

I was asalted by an italian drunk turist at the lobby of the hotel, nothing was done by security, the opposit, the subject gave some money to security and they let him go with out taking care of my self. I asked them to call the police, they said that they had called, it was not true, i went to police station and they told me that the Comodore Hotel had not call them. Who can i sue?? Nobody??... I just will make sure that this event is known all over. If you think i am entitle to a compensation, please let me know. [Details]
