The staff make and already great place better
The hotel is beautiful, its clean and its shiney. The rooms are well appointed (Jr. Suit partial ocean view) but nothing spectacular. The view from our room was, however; spectacular (room 5025). The bed was comfy with nice pillows. The room was very clean and we were well taken care of. I had to call housekeeping one evening for a blanket, the bed is made with only a sheet, and they came within 10 min with a warm cosy blanket. The food amazing, the buffet had so much choice it never got boring, the servers were so so great! The beach was the highlight!!! Wow what a beautiful beach....never a fight to get a chair either. The pools were underwhelming, I wasn't a fan of the separation of the pools making them all seem small. So many chairs though and the pool service was great. Te bar tenders were great too. Only 2 complaints, 1 as mentioned the pools and 2 the noise from the shows was very loud in our room. We are early to bed people and the shows, as great as they are, are to loud in our room. Some sound proofing would be beneficial. Also 1 more thing...daily activities like tequila or wine tastings, salsa making class or cocktail classes would be fun, I felt it was lacking in that too. None are so horrible I wouldn't return, I would and I would recommend this placeto anyone, all ages. During our stay we were amongst 20 somethings and up to 80's.....its truely great for everyone.

Mid October 2025 stay
The exterior has had a recent paint update. It is no longer colorful. Coming from Canada, it was very humid time of year. Staff were helpful. Most servers know English, but it will help if you understand / can speak Spanish. The exterior is very well kept & clean. We stayed in Block 2, which is close to the main entrance, the Flamingo restaurant, and pool 1. Pool 1 was loud with lots of daily activities. But it is easy to go to one of the other pools. Consider bringing an inflatable toy for the pool / beach. Also bring something to throw over your swim suit so you can go into eateries. Otherwise you will not be allowed in. The gym is small. Only used it once. In the morning the AC is not on, so it is hot in the gym. It was not organized and didn't appear things were wiped down. They have daily 1-2 hr kid activity in the morning and that is it. Every night they have 2 shows, as well as local venders come in. We only looked at the venders. Didn't make the kids activities or shows. There is free wifi on the grounds, just none / limited in the rooms. The wifi is slow when lots of people are on it. The room was clean with daily service. They gave a large bottle of water to brush your teeth. Please note, it is 2 double beds. The washroom is small but met our needs. We tried most restaurants on site. The Flamingo & Tropicana do not require reservations and is buffet style. Sometimes people would put the tongs on the food - disgusting. All the other dinner places are served experience. To make reservation, you will need to go to the reception in Block 4 on the day of. They say you can make online reservation but it did not work when we were there. If you are flexible on time and type of food - you will have no problem making dinner reservations. If touring outside the hotel area - take an uber. It is easy to do with the app and way cheaper than a taxi. If you are looking for a Walmart type store, just walk up the hill away from the beach and you will find a store. The hotel has bicycles to use - but only adult size. We had a 9yr old so that was not an option for us.

Fantastic
This trip was beyond our expectations. The staff were all excellent. Our room view was really pretty. We had upgraded to preferred and were glad that we did. The food was excellent everywhere we ate (Olio, Bordeaux, Portofino, Mezze). We had Oscar on his first night at Mezze and he was very sweet. The short rib was so great I ordered it twice and my hubby loved the mushroom ravioli at Portofino. Plus the snacks and lunch at Preferred Club, room service and poutine were awesome. Breakfast at Preferred Club was great every day. We honestly can't say anything negative about this resort. The beach, although not swimmable for beginners which we knew in advance (cool to watch the surfers) was super lovely to walk along both directions. Shout out to Danny the Pool Concierge who was super sweet and knowledgeable and all of the staff up there on the Rooftop; Dario and Julio! The pools and warm tubs on the Rooftop Preferred Club were a great place to hang out all day. We also enjoyed the music and shade in the afternoon down at the Barracuda Bar. At the Secrets Lobby Bar, Alex, Gabriella and the whole team were awesome! You can tell everyone here takes great pride in their jobs. Elizabeth our butler was helpful. We needed a couple things in our room and used the app….extremely responsive and helpful. We never felt the need to ‘save a lounger' or rush anywhere….it did not feel crowded at all and everyone had a smile on their face.
