Once again we spent a terrific week at Grand Paradise. This was our 13th visit and each year keeps getting better. Having done the tours in past years, we now enjoy our stay relaxing and enjoying the extra long beach and beautiful ocean. One of the main reasons we return every year is because of the wonderful staff at Grand Paradise. Everyone from the porter at the entrance, the front desk staff, the cleaning ladies, the gardeners and the staff in the buffet are very friendly and are more than willing to help. We thank Pablo, Elisa, Santa, Emmi, Joheni and Ariel in the Buffet and especially Lourdes and Francis who have made our stay exceptional. [Details]

Our stay at the Grand Paradise was amazing. Rooms were always clean and fridge filled with bottled water and complimentary pop. All of the staff took special care to make sure that all was fine and they always greeted everyone "hola". The entertainment crew with Martin, Alexander and Isaac were fantastic! They did their best to get everyone involved in the daily activities and events. They made the trip especially fun. Food was good from the buffet to the steakhouse. I love travelling to the Dominican Republic Puerto Plata I only stay at one hotel in the Dominican I will not go to any other hotel I few comfortable at Grand Paradise playa Dorada resort my kids are safe here the staff and sercuity are friendly well mannered I have been coming to this hotel for 3 years now and I will still be coming back In July for my wedding the rooms are well maintained the food is amazing activities are fun my kids love mini disco [Details]

The grand paradise playa Dorada is my second home I have been coming to this hotel over 15x and I even bring my children here on vacation and I know my family is safe on this resort everyone who works ever are amazing and helpful I highly recommend this hotel to my family and friends and any one who wants to travel to Dominican Republic [Details]

Stay away from the director named Fablemon or anyone selling you a paradise vacation club membership. He works at this resort. But be aware at any resort you stay at. My husband signed up for an account in both of our names. He was told we could cancel it within a few days for full refund. We have a letter , signed by Fablemon with the company stamp, 3 days after purchase, acknowledging our cancellation request and we were told we would get our money back on our Visa in one month. It's been well over two months. All they do is play phone games. I tried to call and talk to someone and I was told by the secretary to send a collection agency after them because the company has rights. Wtf.. so Help me Spread the word.. we won't see or $4700 ever again but let's try to help others from Making the same mistake. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROGRAM ITS A HUGE SCAM. I was told by others to contact the credit card company, Canadian embassy, RCMP, and news outlets which i plan to do. It may not make a difference , but if I can help save one other person from making a terrible mistake it is worth it. Let's get the word out as much as possible... [Details]

Everything about this hotel is amazing. The view is outstanding and the beach is just a short walk from the rooms. The food was great and had plenty of options. The entertainment was phenomenal always had something to do. Johanna the receptionist is extremely helpful and amazing at what she does, she went above and beyond to insure everything was to our liking. If you need anything on the hotel she is your girl. I have been to several resorts around Punta Cana and Puerto Plata and this resort is by far my favorite. Not so great at the resort are the lack of beach chairs and umbrellas, especially on the one side not reserved for Select clients. Another negative is there are no non-smoking areas. Many of us that don't smoke, there was probably 40 of us each night, found ourselves having to stand 30 feet away and on the beach to watch the entertainment. I eventually stopped going to the bar areas and sat with family around the pool playing cards. The rooms are great for the price and the mattress in my room was very comfortable. The buffet restaurant had a good selection, it would be nice if a menu was posted for the upcoming week for nights like Mexican night and Seafood night. My sister is allergic to seafood and had we known we would have booked dinner at one of the other restaurants. The people at the resort are what clinched it for me to return. They are just so friendly and eager to help, it was great getting to know them and seeing their smiling faces every morning. I will return again soon. [Details]

This resort was great for the reasonable price. The food was terrific and the beaches amazing. We went as a couple and loved it. Lots of extra excursions can be purchased. The resort was not too big and everything was within minutes walk. It is a smaller resort so you get to recognize the staff working. This resort had the best beach by far! [Details]

Just back from our 26th visit to Paradise.The food was outstanding. Wonderful staff, the same people year over year who have become part of our Dominican family. I have been several times at the hotel, and I will always return because it is a very nice and nice hotel with excellent service, the guys at the reception are very friendly always willing to help especially Waldin and johanna, the food is very good and the waiters They have good service, my room has the best view 1634 [Details]

I'd like to start off with saying all the employees at this location were wonderful to be around. Francis who works at the front desk was very accommodating the entire time of my vacation! The cleanliness of the resort and also the food is absolutely amazing. As for the pool and beach it was amazing as well. A special thanks to Junior for great service.

pros: decent food, beautiful beach, great activities outside or resort.

The food was alright but nothing special. They use a lot of powder milk and there pasta is terrible. The beach was super nice and not too rocky depending on where you go. But i dis get my foot tangled on some metal fencing .. was really not impressed. We met some great people on the beach that got us half price adventures compared to the travel agencies and they were great.

Cons: everything else. The majority of the staff was very sassy and rude. There was one receptionist, i believe her name was julia or julianna and i swear i just avoided the area when we was around. We also booked a room with a king bed and they tried to tell us we didnt .. even when i had the paper in their faces, finally they gave us a proper room after 2 days. On the beach, we were constantly bothers by people selling things. At one point we started ignoring them because they were so pushy. The italen resteraunt had to be the nasty of them all, the grill was the only place for a good supper. [Details]

Le transport a l'hotel Était dans un mini bus. Le genre de bus que tu te frotte les fesses sur les passager tellement c'est petit.

LE CHECK IN
Il y a un lobby à l'entrée mais il n'y a pas de bar. Une simple réception. Quelques places assises.
Au lieu de faire le check-in là, nous sommes allé dans une salle, il fallait s'assoir et il appelait un à un les gens. Mettons que ça commence bien mal.

LES CHAMBRES
Nous avions demandé une chambre standard avec lit king et balcon. La chambre était vraiment petite. Nous avons changé pour une supérieur qui était mieux. Ça nous a coûté 120$us et 1/2 journée de perdue. Pour votre info. Il y a des chambres standard aux 4iemes étage (sans assenceur) et sans balcon. Mais elles sont immense avec 2 chambres, donc 1 fermée avec un coin cuisine. Il faut payer pour le coffret 4$us/ jour

LE SITE
Le site est petit. On s'y retrouve très bien. Très propre. Le buffet , à air ouverte se trouve face à la plage. Que dire de la vue! Wooow! Donc, à tout les repas, vu sur mer. Vous pouvez payer pour être sélect, (internet inclus, bar, section buffet et plage réservés)
Étant donné que l'hôtel se trouve sur une pointe, il y a 2 plages. A gauche (section sélect) et a droite (les autres).

LA PLAGE
Il n'y a pas de parasol ou palapas à la plage. J'ai trouvé que c'était le bordel avec les chaises partout car les gens se trouvent de l'ombres avec les arbres. un côté plus venteux que l'autrs, donc plus de vague. L'eau est belle, pas d'algue.

LA PISCINE
Entrée avec échelle. Niveau d'eau de 4' partout. Quelsques parasol mais pas assez. Faut se lever à 7h pour en avoir un. L'après-midi, quasi impossible d'avoir des chaises. L'amimation se trouve à gauche de la piscine. Il y a des jeux l'après-midi avec les G.O. Le matin, yoga et Aqua gym. Il y a aussi des petites jeux a participer(dar, mini-put, mississipi, poche, etc)

LA BOUFFE
Nous avons bien mangé. La nourriture était bonne et chaude. Par contre, pas beaucoup de choix. Il n'y a pas de grille-pain. Seulement un presse-sandwich. Soirée thématique.
Le matin plaque pour oeufs, omelette, crêpe.
Le midi et le soir plaque pour viande-poisson et bar à pâte.
Au Resto grill le midi, on y retrouve hot-dog, hamburger, poulet frits, frite. A côté, comptoir à pizza.
Il n'y a pas de liqueur en fontaines seulement en bouteille et la marque coke. Pas de liqueur diète. Les cafés spéciaux (cappuccino, expression, etc) sont fait par une machine distributrice.

Belle équipe d'animation, par contre, je ne peux pias vous dire ce qui est des spectacle 21h30) car j'en ai pas vu un. Coucher trop tôt.

EXTRA
Internet est payant. Ça peut vous coûter jusqu'à 50$ pour la semaine. Juste dans les chambre, resto et piscine. Nous sommes allé au centre-commercial à côté de l'hôtel et avons acheté une carte SIM pour 25$. Internet illimité et partout. En ville, dans les boutiques de téléphone il l'a vende 5$. Mais c'est quand même moins cher que l'hôtel.
Je vous recommande d'aller à la bijouterie LARIMAR J SHOP dans le centre commercial au 2 iemes étages. J'ai acheté un bijoux dans une autre bijouterie lors d'une excursion que j'ai payer 45$us (négocier) et lui me le faisait à 25$us.

Nous sommes allé mangé au Resto le PETIT FRANÇOIS, ( il a de la Poutine) qui appartient à un québécois. Nous l'avons marché par la ville (1/2 heure) gares au canal qui n'ont pas de couvercle sur le trottoir. Par la plage, a gauche, c'est environ 20 minutes. Si vous y allé le soir, je vous recommande de réserver pour avoir une belle place au 2 iemes étages. Très bon. 26$CAN pour 2 (2 repas et une grosse bière à 2) [Details]

Hotel located on the point of two bays, views were spectacular, beach was perfect with one side calm and the other with more wind and waves. Food at restaurants and Buffet was great, some repetition but always new options. Bar selection was good considering it is a 4 star and low season. We were 7 people (2 kids under 12, 1 teenager, 2 adults, 2 Seniors) with 3 rooms, the resort satisifed all of our needs, we all left feeling good about the resort and excursions.

Negatives, only 2 a la carte restaurants on site during our stay with only 1 of the 2 open per night. No entertainment schedule posted so we missed out on most animated activities during the day and had no idea what was planned for in the evenings (shows were a 2-3* max)

This Hotel was amazing. The rooms were beyond expectation, they were clean and staff would come every morning to clean the rooms. The staff throughout the resort were great and friendly.

The food was also amazing, they had a variety of food here that tasted great.

The beaches were well kept and the view was awesome. If you want to go outside of the resort theres lots to do and it is safe.

we had a wonderful time at this resort.. the rooms clean, the people fantastic, the view the best I have ever seen however I don't feel we would ever go back... There was no shade on the beach nor were there any chairs, and if you went and got chairs and left them for more than a few minutes the security guards would remove them from the spot and when you came back they would go get them for you and expect a tip...On our last day there the pool was unusable.. there were a bunch of people came and announced they were there to get "black out drunk" and proceeded to do so.. they pulled a hose and funnel and started... they took turns standing on the bar pouring beer and drinks into the funnel for the others, very loud, very obnoxious..because there is only one pool and the swim up bar is in the centre beer and liquor were spilled everywhere... As we were travelling with our grandchildren and didn't want them exposed to this I called the desk and asked them to send security over to at least remove the hose.. they never showed.. friends of ours who had been there 4 times before this year also called.. security never showed.. So we went to the beach for 3 hours and came back and they were still at it.. one girl was even throwing up in the pool and they were spraying beer from the hose all over each other and in the pool...the bartender kept feeding them liquor and no security could be found.... No pool for us on our last day.. kind of left a sour taste..... We also found that once the snack bar at the beach closed the buffet was not overly kid friendly.. although cooked to perfection lots of kids don't eat filet mignon, fancy salads or fresh fish with the heads still on...
