Islazul Varazul

Varazul is a very basic Hotel with small apartment units that are very basicly furnished and in need of some major updates. I found it was used more by Vacationing locals than actual foreign tourist. My unit was 1.5 blocks from the main hotel building where everything took place which made it somewhat of an hassle to good eat. The Food service was buffet style,but eatible…the best part of the whole trip was the wonderful white sand beaches 2 blocks aways from the complex. Eventually after much complaining I got upgraded to the main building at their Aquazul Hotel which is in much better conditions [Details]

Excellent value, great location,24/7 bar service. Same food every meal. No matter what question you asked at the front desk the answer was invariably "I don't know" The phone in my room didn't work. The desk clerk said most of the phones in the centre of the hotel don't work. Only one of two elevators operational. [Details]

First night at the Varazul was terrible.
This building should be condemned.
Transfereed to Villa Sottovento for the remaining 6 nights. Much better there. [Details]
