Good location as disney point of view

Dolphin lovely, but not a Disney hotel

Hotel was beautiful, but was not aware the Dolphin was not a Disney hotel until AFTER we booked. Because it's not a Disney hotel, we could not take advantage of a great Disney meal plan that would have saved us a lot of money on food ($300/wk/per person for 1 sit-down meal, including the restaurants in the parks which are fabulous, 1 cafeteria-style meal, & 1 snack per day for 7 days). The restaurants in the hotel were expensive so 1 breakfast for 4 of us cost about $50 and 1 sit-down dinner in the French restaurant at Epcot cost over $200 for the 4 of us. The meal plan would have saved us a ton of money if we were allowed to participate in it. [Details]

The strong points

Transportation to the parks was easy via boat or bus. Pool was lovely, clean & warm temp. Fridge in room so we could keep drinks, food to help save money on meals, snacks.

The weak points

Had to pay $15 per day to keep rental car parked at hotel. Restaurants were expensive. Could not participate in cost saving Disney meal plan since Dolphin is not a Disney hotel.

The strong points

The complimentary transportation to the disney parks and the resturants served delicious food.

The weak points

The hotel is not a Walt Disney World hotel/resort so they didnt have a meal plan or offer any of the promotions found on the Disney web site.I also want to note that this hotel is not a great place to stay with children as there is a bar in the lobby
