The strong points

Warm cookies upon arrival Free Wifi 15 minute walk to universal parks Shopping close by (outlets)- great prices Walgreens .. Burger King in walking distance for more affordable drinks and food Large pool, hot tub and splash pad Gym on site

The weak points

cost of food is very expensive Ice cream store don't open till 4 pm Bus to universal only goes in the morning Pool should be skimmed throughout the day

I have never been so impressed by the service at a hotel as I was with Doubletree by Hilton at entrance of Universal! From check in to check out and everything in between, the staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy and well taken care of - incredible! [Details]

Grasping at straws here but the only thing that could have been better is the air conditioning - it wasn't working well but manageable

The fact that it is located near Universal Studio made us choose this hotel,and yes, it is very close, considering weather, it takes around 15 walk. Building and room itself needs renovation but the staff service and everything else successfully make up the drawback. There is a breakfast buffet inside hotel and i have to say omelette is the best! It's affordable and worth the price. Wasn't sure what to expect as the reviews varied but I have to say that I was overall pleased with my experience here and would stay again. The lobby was very inviting and the check-in process was fast. I was really looking forward to warm cookies at check-in I read about in other reviews and they were delicious. As other reviews have stated, while the lobby is well air-conditioned, the hallways and elevators were hot and stuffy but since I didn't spend too much time there so it wasn't really a problem. The air conditioner in the room worked fine. Our room was clean and was fairly updated. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. The staff we had contact with were extremely friendly and very accommodating. The amenities (pool, gym) were great and the courtyard was lovely. There is a Starbucks in the lobby and various food choices in the food court however we didn't get to sample them as we ate off-site each night. Hotel guests do have to pay a daily fee for parking. The hotel is walking distance to Universal Studios (approximately 15 minutes) but in hot and humid weather it can feel a lot longer. [Details]
