Royal Kahana Maui By Outrigger

Overall for the price, we enjoyed the hotel, our room was clean, although the floors looked dirty, needless to say we wore our shoes whenever we were in the room. A fresh coat of paint could do wonders to the room!! In this area of Maui, the temperatures are cooler and we found it very difficult to find a decent restaurant , you really need a car to travel. The beach at this hotel is beautiful and the sunsets, wow! [Details]

Very nice. Not Ritzy, but great value. The only criticism is the non-free wifi, but this can also be a good thing as it keeps time wasted on Internet to a minimum. [Details]

When we arrived we were put in a suite on the second floor with a view of the pool. It was very noisy. My husband went and asked for a different room. We were then put on the fourth floor where we stayed for two days. This suite, upon discovery, was very poorly stocked and was in poor condition, ie, grout missing and rotting, windows were breaking down and dirty. Lots of rust, doors coming of the hinges, broken shelving in the refrigerator. I went to the front desk and showed the lady the pictures that I had taken. she said that I should have come down immediately. She was very gracious and said that people were checking out of a suite on the 12th floor that had been renovated recently. She told me to put our luggage together and they would move it for us. We went out and when we returned we went to the front desk, got our keys and went to the 12th floor. the suite was spectacular! A beautiful view of the ocean. We could see for miles. she was right, the suite was beautiful! Stainless steel appliances, above counter sink in the bath area, a stand up tiles shower. The floor was a cool tile, the walls were mirrored. All in all we were extremely happy. So, I would say that the service we received was exemplary! [Details]

The room was average but we didn't spend too much time in it so weren't overall concerned. Since our son is 11 months old the in suite laundry and kitchen were a must. The beach area was quite nice and not too crowded, and the pool area was excellent. It is conveniently located close to shopping and dining. It looked like some rooms were receiving major upgrades, so they must have nicer rooms. You get what you pay for though, and we were fine with the room for the price we paid. The cost for WiFi seemed silly, especially when you can walk across the street to McDonalds and access the WiFi there for free. The food bar by the pool was surprisingly good, and the service there was excellent. [Details]

Outrigger Royal Kahana is right on the ocean,beautiful view but not all rooms are renovated, request one that is. [Details]

Very good compromise between cost and amenities. September (low season) is much, much better than expected. Outrigger Royal Kahana Resort has an excellent placement on the West Coast of Maui. Beaches are good and the water is a dream.
Cleaning personnel is very polite and doing a good job. A/C noisy; it spreads a smell of mold when running. Some renovation may be necessary. [Details]

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel. We got such a great deal that we weren't expecting too much. We had a great room with a fantastic view and all the sites were withing close driving distance. We would definitely return to this hotel. [Details]
