Alexandra Resort TC

To begin, our stay at the Alexandra resort was overall very good. All staff were very friendly; Milan and Suresh were my favourite servers as they were very kind and friendly. We stayed at the Marylin building and our room was very large and spacious with a great view of the garden, pool, ocean and resort. The sofa bed was sunken and uncomfortable to sleep in, but other than that, fantastic room! The food was overall good, but needed more variety. For breakfast, there was only 1 location open (asu buffet), with the same menu everyday. Menu could use more fresh fruits. For lunch, there were only two options; the terrace and the eirie bites. However, for dinner, the service and food was excellent. Dinner at the Black Rock Grill and The Fish Deck was excellent. The Truck Stop should be opened earlier to accommodate lunch. Additionally, dinner at the SALT restaurant at Blue Haven was exceptionally delicious and well prepared. The entertainment music was way too loud at dinner, and more variety of entertainment should be implemented. The daily beach trivia was great, however the entertainment team did not show up for some of their planned events such as the ping pong tournament. Staff at the water sports were unhelpful to bring out the kayaks and bring families out on the sailboat. Watersport staff mentioned they would operate until 4:30, but packed up early at 3:45 and left. [Details]

A week at the Alexandra Resort

, Listowel, ON
2023-02-25
We enjoyed our week at Alexandra Resort in Turks and Caicos. Check in was a bit disappointing. They could and should have explained more and given us a map. It is smaller than other resorts we have stayed at but we had to ask or search for things the first few days. Also, there is less to do than at other resorts. There are 4 restaurants, plus 2 at Blue Haven, but be sure to reserve a spot first thing each day. They aren't all open every day. We appreciated that chairs weren't reserved around the pool and at the beach. We were always able to find a seat when needed. The beach was amazing. Soft, powdery white sand, beautiful tourquoise water. In many ways we found that the Alexandra was a Sandals wannabe. It offered things that a Sandles or Beaches resort offered but never came up to the standards and choices or quality that Sandals does. We took the shuttle to Blue Haven, but were disappointed with the beach and pool there. [Details]

The strong points
A clean, comfortable and smaller resort. Great for relaxing. Less expensive than other resorts we have been too but just not quite the quality as others either. Sunny and 85 degrees every single day!
The weak points
No map upon check in. Not the selection of activities or variety of restaurants that we have found elsewhere. Not much available in excursions. Much more could have been done to keep guests involved and give something to do.
Sanitary measures
We were happy NOT to see masks and a lot of rules re: Covid!

Well worth it!

The Alexandra resort was better than expected. We were upgraded to a ocean view from garden view free because of our honeymoon. Breath taking views. Sand is so soft. The workers are very nice but I think sometimes they dont sometimes understand or listen properly. Everything in Turks is very expensive so all inclusive is they way to go or else expect to spend $20 per meal and $10 per drink per person in US dollars. Recomend renting a car for $50 a day and see the island. Stay away from taxi's they charge fares per person and drive like maniacs. Food was good they change the menu every couple days. Entertainment every night but everything is shut down at 11pm. There is no night life on the island. Go straight for the pina coladas and mango passion fruit drinks. Definitely dont forget sunscreen 30 degree weather. [Details]
