We had a mix of 12 people, including families with children, couples, friends, and a vegetarian, Dec 16 to 23rd, 2024. The rooms at Infinity bay are great. Some of us had 2 bedroom units, others had 1 bedroom. Kitchens very well equipped in all units, including microwaves and ovens, blender, large fridges with ice machines. The water at the resort is drinkable from the tap as they have a million dollar filtration system at the resort. Large comfortable balconies as well. The rooms are large with very comfortable beds! Water pressure was lacking and took a while to get hot, but it was HOT! A few guests mentioned that the rooms were dated, but personally I was really happy with them. I could maybe say that about the chairs or furniture, but overall loved the rooms. The food was fantastic at the buffet. We chose the all inclusive plan so every meal we had at the buffet except on Friday night which was at the beach. We overall preferred the buffet. There was something for everyone there. In the mornings there were muffins, pastries and breads, eggs, potatoes, fruits and veggies, as well as a made to order omelet bar. Lunch and dinner had salad with tons of fresh veggie selections, as well as cooked veggie options, rice and potatoes, soup and usually 2 to 3 meat options, with one of the options being fish. Made to order Pasta for dinner as well. The drinks were strong and there was a lot of selection. There are many restaurants within walking distance of the resort, however, so meal plan is not necessary. The pools were very lovely albeit slightly on the cool side for some of us. There are many lounge chairs and we never had an issue finding a spot even for all 12 of us together. Several Bathrooms around the pool area that are kept clean. Entertainment is pretty much non-existent at the resort. One night there was a nice singer/guitar player. Apparently some nights there is a fire entertainer but we didn't see them. No music during the day or any activities going on. The Spa has tons of selection for facials, wraps, and massage services at decent prices. The gym was large and well equipped compared to other resorts we have stayed. It was free with the All-inclusive plan, but I believe $10 per day if AI is not purchased. Staff is very friendly throughout. Special shout out to Gardan, Francisco, the main bartenders! Tons of other shout outs including wait-staff, cleaners, security, etc. which made our trip that much better. The Diving center at the resort has everything you need, even a snorkel rental for the day, or wet suit. A number of us went diving, including a 10 year old. The in-class portion went over the basics and answered everyone's questions as it was everyone's first time. We went straight into the ocean from the beach and since it was wavy, it was difficult to practice what we learned and a few people gave up. I feel that it would have been much more beneficially to begin in the pool, especially with children. The ones that did go out, however, had a fantastic time, right off the beach. That was the discovery class which we found to be a great price. The beach directly off the resort has many vendors selling bracelets, swim shirts, sunglasses, and services such as hair braiding and massage. It can be a tad overwhelming but a simple "No Thank you" and they will move along. Mosquitos and Sand Fleas: It was windy enough that I only saw 1 mosquito in the time that we were there, but the sand fleas were crazy for 3 of the men in particular. None of the women or children seemed to be affected. I protected myself with a concoction I made myself with coconut oil, beeswax and essential oils, especially the lower legs/feet. Finally, The weather was fine the first few days but there were several days of rain. The beach wasn't as calm as a result of the weather so the visibility could have been better. There is a ton of coral directly out front of the resort so you really don't need to go far to snorkel. We did do a snorkel tour, however, that took us to a shipwreck, to see starfish, and a pirate wreck where all but a few things had disappeared. Was cool to see cannons there, though. I'd definitely be back. It's not a busy resort, quiet if you wanted it to be quiet, but you could definitely have a fun night at the bar if you so choose. This is right up my alley as my main focus was to relax. If you're looking to party or for nightlife/daytime fun, this isn't the place. If you're looking for a home away from home, this place is paradise. For a 4 star resort, I give this a 5 star!

Very Nice
Brother and I are a couple of older guys looking for R & R. This hotel is in two halves. The Villas look like cottages that families would stay in. They're a little dated. The more modern half is 8 buildings with rooms. We had a mountainview room (better than poolside due to loud music). Great price on Supersaver deal. Well worth the money. STAFF: Desk staff spoke perfect English, along with a few others (activities and a waiter or two), but most are Spanish. Remember you're in their country, so knowing a few travel words is recommended (like dos cervesas, etc.). ROOM: Nice, clean, with beds that aren't hard as a rock (like everywhere else I've gone). And we never ran out of hot water. FOOD: Though limited in numbers, the trays of food were delicious. Beef was always tender. Did not go to A la carte restaurants because the food was great at the buffet. BEACH: Nice big beach. Water very warm (warmer than pools). Not too deep and not as salty as the Pacific, but always wavy. No undertow. We generally hung around the pool, and left valuables poolside to play in the waves. Didn't notice much undertow. POOLS: Kid's pool has 3 slides, main pool has one big slide. The adult pool is about 5' deep, but kids are in it nonetheless. Nice aluminum framed chairs with rubber straps. Not those uncomfortable solid resin chairs. BARS (3): Poolside with swim-up bar, snack bar, and one on the beach, served 3 brands of bottled beer, not cheap watered down draft. Salvidas was the brand most popular. EXCURSIONS: We didn't go on any. Wasn't keen on the long bus trips to go to most destinations. Been there, done that. You can book them on the resort if interested. IN SHORT: I would say this isn't a party place. On weekends, many locals and their families book in, and we met some nice people among them. If this place is available at a good price, I would recommend it.

secluded paradise
the hotel is on a very secluded part of the island away for all the other resorts. perfect for quiet vacation. the beach is very nice and you can take their kayak as you please with no time restriction. you can snorkel around the dock on the beach and see very interesting and different species of fish. the rooms are very clean and big, we had a nice mountain and water view with a large balcony. the food is very good but not alot of selections. for divers lovers this is the resort for you. the dive center is on the resort. my husband being a diver had an amazing experience with them. they take good care of you and your equipment. they would prepare everything on the boat for my husband, he would just need to hop on the boat in the morning and not having to worry about anything. The staff is very nice and because it's a very small resort you do get to know all of them. It was by far one of my favorite destination of all time! i would go back there in a heart beat! if your not a diver like me this resort is also perfect as all the divers leave in the morning so me and a few more ladies had the beach, bar and hotel for our self. pretty quiet and perfect for relaxation in paradise for me! You can't walk to town as it is on the other side of the island but we hired a taxi driver who took us all around the island and visited every nook the island had to offer, let me tell you i was glad to come back to our quiet resort. the other resorts are great but they are all one next to the other and the beach is crowded. we even had free wifi anywhere on the resort even in our room. This resort is perfect for a family, couple or single person who just want a quiet vacation. you need to order your drinks as the bar closes at 9.

Very Secluded!!
I'll start off by saying the hotel and grounds are quite beautiful. However, it kinda of ends there. When you arrive you receive the weeks itinerary which consists of one activity each day but without any actual information; i.e. where to meet, costs and time required. The activity for the day after your first wake up there - a trip to the grocery store, which cost each person $2.50 each way - you find that out when you leave on the shuttle. Meaningful trip considering you stay in a villa with a kitchen and full range of utensils, cutlery etc. But who wants to cook for themselves when they are only traveling for a week!! The food at the palapa, although very good, was easily the most expensive with the least amount that I found on my travels throughout the island. The resort is located within a gated community which is extremely far of the main road so if you want to explore or see other parts of the island and culture you HAVE to rent a car or get guided transportation. The resort itself offers nothing in this respect but can put you in touch with someone - negotiations required!!! Do not overpay and be wise to find out your options. I was traveling alone and like to experience the culture and life when I'm in new places and found it difficult from this resort; was sort of like being confined to a "resort prison". That said if you prefer to relax and not be bothered by people in a beautiful setting without much else than sunshine, sand and water, this definitely meets that criteria. Oh and if you like to have a beer; they charge $5 most of the time, a far cry from the 30 to 50 lempiras you pay elsewhere. Also watch the receipts you get, there's three taxes which includes a 10% service fee. That's supposed to be for the wait staff but it's apparent that they don;t get it and management keeps it so you actually tip twice if you want the servers to get anything craaaazy!! Just one mans brief opinion.
