Be Live Experience Hamaca Beach

We had a great time at Hamaca. The staff there were exceptionally attentive and friendly. The rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh towels were always available. The Animation team also encouraged the guests to participate in beach activities. Overall, I would recommend Hamaca for your next vacation. [Details]

3.5* hotel with the poor reviews is an alarm. So we were sufficiently alarmed, yet decided to give it a try.

Overall room was OK, it was spacious, furniture was in a good shape. Bathroom was functioning (leaking shower head was replaced by the hotel's staff promptly after my call), water flow was a bit weak but enough for showering. Toilet sometimes required flushing twice but worked too. AC worked fine.

Beware that some beachside rooms are cheaper because they have no balconies.

Food in a buffet was great and tasty. Choices for 3.5* were just fine. Buffet has a pizza station and a frying station. Unfortunately, their breakfast yogurt and oatmeal were sweet, I'd prefer them without sugar.

They had plastic tea spoons for soup and other liquid food, that was inconvenient and embarrassing. Also they frequently had single-use cups for coffee/tea when normal cups were all used up.

Buffet service was almost always none. To have a drink one should go to a special location were their glass (or more frequently, plastic cup) will be filled by either beer or wine. I tried to leave tips, but didn't notice any improvement.

Alcohol was of a basic quality, beer was good. Good coffee was available from a coffee machine in a lobby bar only.

Beach is great - water always calm and not more than 1.5m deep everywhere. There is not much snorkelling just by the beach, but having rubber shoes, one could walk much farther away (it is even less deep there and then you would reach side of a reef).

Animators were doing their job well :) There were many competitions with a bottle of ron as a prize. Evening entertainment I skipped because of covid.

Almost all patrons ignored wearing masks. There were no covid precautions in a buffet, except of hand sanitizer at the entrance.

Hotel is in Boca Chica town. In fact, a public road is going straight through the hotel and one would cross it regularly on a way to the buffet (not too busy and there is always a guard stopping the traffic for patrons). There is a way to walk by a beach to meet locals, see smaller beaches, public spaces. Streets around the hotel look like a mess, but there are a lot of small shops and cafes everywhere. There is a large North-American style supermarket store close by - it has the best alcohol prices. [Details]

I have been on several cruises, but being at Be Live Experience Hamaca Beach was like I am on a cruise ship. All the vacation pleasure was there, and then some more. I love the resort. I love the food, and most of all I love the beach I rate the Be Live Experience Hamaca Beach in Santo Domingo as a six-star resort. I was blown away by the top-notch services, and the excellent accommodation. The staff provide top-notch service.

Arrived there and didnt get the room i payed for until the 3rd day, AC wasent working all 7days and room service was really bad, room werent cleaned uppon our arrival after 5pm had to complain multiple time for that. Towel service at the beach was a scam i never got my 20USD back. Besides all these issues the Animation Team is the best ive ever had. They make it beautiful, even if the hotel isnt the best, these people truly are! If i ever go back there it would only be for the people that i met in the resort and the locals.
