The strong points

-food was great -people were very nice

The weak points

-management doesn't know who they're catering to -nighttime entertainment -rooms need renovating -beach needs work -resort is very far from everything making transportation expensive

This resort is more like a 3.5 *. Limited selection of small restaurants. Small buffet, Italian restaurant below average, Japanese restaurant above average. There is also a steakhouse but it was closed the 2 evenings in the 1 week we wanted to go (however, management compensated by serving us a nice steak at the buffet). Resort needs renovations. Our room had putty splatters in the bathroom and poor caulking, dingy walls. Not many guests on the resort (perhaps200 during the time we were there).

If you don't mind the 1hr 15 mins bus ride (each way), quiet resort, average restaurants then this resort is ok.

The strong points

Nice, clean beach. Resort security staff present throughout the resort and on the beach...both day and night. Friendly and very helpful staff.

The weak points

1 hour 15 minutes of travel (bus) time from PUJ to resort. Does not have the appearance of a 5* resort. Contrary to what is mentioned on certain sites there is no turndown service, no 1 hr extra check-out & definitely not recently renovated. Food just ok

The room was not properly cleaned for 2 consecutive days (toilette, sink, floors) but I mentioned it to the reception and corrective action was immediately taken.

Overall I give this resort high marks. It is now two resorts in one. One side was older and one side was newer. The older side was being renovated and was not yet fully occupied. We were on that side and had a swim up. It was quiet which is what we wanted. The newer side had nicer rooms and was more of a party atmosphere. The beach was lovely to walk on barefoot or with sandals or sneakers The sand was soft but it was firm underfoot making it a easy walk. The food was very good as well. I have celiac disease and they knew what gluten free meant. The chef came out and pointed out the dishes I could eat and could not eat. The wine was not great but you could order wine at dinner. The staff were kind and helpful but some did not speak much English. I would try to have a translator app for another time. The coffee gal Madeleine was great and Daniel at front desk was great. Clean, friendly, great pools, enough empty chairs on the beach, great beach

The weak points

The wine was not very good. The food staff could use more training more training but were very kind. there was sometimes a language barrier.

This is not my fist time in Dominican Republic in vacation but for sure the best one. The hotel is 1.5 hours drive from the airport but it is worth it. The hotel is very nice, extremely clean, and the staff super friendly. We have no complaints at all but a lot of compliments. We were tired and all stressed before arrived and we left 100 % relaxed and happy . We for sure will return to his hotel. We strongly recommend to visit the resort.
