A disappointing stay-hotel at best is a 3.5-4.0* property...my wife is a travel consultant. Inexperienced and poorly trained staff Dining experience was low standard and very limited choice, no menu changes....same every day! Only 1 restaurant should be offering a different menu every day-could not even get chicken! Sharing facilities with Dreams for dining was completely frustrating....first come, first served, long line ups...no concierge service to book a dining time. Thanks to Lily for assistance here! Glass shower in the middle of the room-no privacy. AC issues never totally rectified. Three hotels worth of clients trying to use one small beach at Dreams was ridiculous!!! Just no space...far too crowded..no beach at Il Mare...austere environment...not pleasant. Lack of grounds maintenance....many palms with dead branches, ready to fall-safety issue...all round disappointing! [Details]

The strong points

Lovely pool area not withstanding rowdy and rude, drunk clientelle. Friendly staff, great weather, reliable taxi service

The weak points

Far from a boutique hotel experience! Lack of knowledge/experience in proper dining protocol, very long wait times for meals. Front desk staff and concierge continually ignoring the phoneswhat if a call was an emergency! Food trays left in halls.

Sanitary measures

No hand sanitizer requirements at entry to the only restaurant on site, or at pool bar. Food spills in outside halls, left all week. Restaurant tables washed with the same cloth..no cleaner, often not cleaning placements....great way to spread infection

Pros: beautiful grounds, beautiful clean newly renovated Rooms, really nice golf cart staff who shuttled us between zoetry and beach or Dreams resort across the road, great location, nice beach with snorkelling, good beach bar and grill

Cons: food and service at the Bloom restaurant were not acceptable in any way. Sour cream for coffee and then no cream - they were ‘out', we only received a waitress to take our order for breakfast 2 mornings the others we (and others were ignored). One morning I approached (after 30 min of waiting ) 2 waitresses talking when they saw me they turned and went into the back kitchen. Orders were forgotten or came incorrect. We paid to go out at the Marriott one night and couldn't believe the kind service and food quality. The food service staff are unhappy and unfriendly except at the beach grill. [Details]

The strong points

Beautiful grounds, beautiful rooms, comfy beds, peaceful for sleeping, housekeeping was good, beach for snorkelling

The weak points

Food quality, service slow, unkind, inaccurate in Bloom(they are either very unhappy in their jobs, untrained, understaffed or all). help requested at concierge for taxi it was said yes to getting but it never came & ‘they' forgot' but we waited 40 min.

The strong points

Great food, Friendly staff, relaxing, very clean, beautiful rooms. The daily activities ( yoga, meditation, tea time) was great for my wife.

The weak points

The language barrier with some of the staff, at times long wait times.

Really lovely grounds, calm serene environment, just what we needed for a break. Made good use of kitchen facilities in our Royal suite pool view upgraded room - worth the money to us.
