Cayo Largo

Surpassed our expectations on most points! We stayed here for 2 weeks and were looking for a relaxing trip, which is exactly what we found here in Cayo Largo at this resort. It's quiet, peaceful, our villa (no. 32) was cozy, clean, and the AC worked flawlessly. We weren't looking for a classic resort vibe, generally don't drink or party, and aren't interested in being entertained, so we love that this resort experience felt more like a rental cabin with meals taken care of, and the wild/untamed nature of the resorts 700m of rough beach was perfect for us; we were able to swim and snorkel there on calmer days. We also enjoyed the shuttle service to the other beaches and went several times, and loved our trips to the sea turtle rescue and participation in turtle release activities. The creativity of the kitchen staff was fantastic - they seemed to have nearly unlimited ways of preparing/presenting the few ingredients they had to work with, but by the same, we rarely lacked anything throughout our trip and always ate very well. Sometimes the food was overly salty though and for the first 20-30mins upon opening of the restaurant, many hot foods were still heating up. Everyone on staff was lovely, as experienced elsewhere in Cuba before - they'll do anything in their abilities to make you most comfortable and satisfied. The work done by the 3 volunteers running the sea turtle rescue centre is truly remarkable, and they're very generous with their time and knowledge - please consider bringing sea turtle food to them when you travel here, they need all that they can get. The entertainers were great - friendly and always happy to help with anything or bring you for trips outside of their animation activity times. I'd return here without hesitation, though if you're looking for a more commercial resort atmosphere with a party vibe, this might not be for you. If you want to relax, slow down, eat well, and enjoy the somewhat untouched natural state of Cayo Largo - don't hesitate to book yourself into Villa Linda Mar

C'était notre quatrième visites à cette hôtel. Cuba a les plus belles plages selon nous. Malgré que la plage de l'hôtel à beaucoup disparu depuis quelques années, il y a toujours les plages Sirena et Paradisio qui sont sublimes. Les gens sont toujours bien accueillants. Nous avons bien mangé, malgré les problèmes là-bas. Le personnel fait tout son possible avec ce qu'ils ont. L'emplacement n'est qu'à environ 5 minutes de l'aéroport, ce qui fait une grosse différence avec d'autres endroits.
