Lovely week at Eurostars Grand Cayacoa in Samana

The hotel was very beautiful and clean, the food was good, the staff were friendly and helpful. The view of the bay and the ocean and the pool from our balcony and our window was inspiring. The food was good - the selection in the buffet was always changing and there were always good options. The activity staff were lively and fun. We enjoyed joining the aquafit and dance classes at the pool. The evening programs were enjoyable and we happily joined the dancing and karaoke most nights. The room was beautiful and cleaned vey well every day. Service in the 2 restaurants was excellent. Overall it was a great place to spend a week. [Details]

The weak points

Check in was quite slow. Sometimes we had to wait for a table in the buffet at breakfast. I was disappointed that there was no kayaking or boating available from the hotel. If you don't eat pork there are not enough options in the Panoramic Restaurant.

Hotel and beach are not as advertised (as examples, only 2 out of 5 a la carte restaurants were open and there were no beach activities or entertainment). The beach is very narrow and there are not enough chairs or space to accommodate all tourists. Stray dogs are running around all day. Not recommended if you want to relax/sleep on the beach. [Details]
