Sanctuary at Grand Memories in Holguin
Excellent vacation. Excellent hotel, Excellent management, 5 star hotel !
I stayed in Sanctuary at Grand Memories in Holguin between 9th and 16 of April. It was my first time at this hotel in Cuba. The hotel is new, modern well maintained and very clean. As you getting in the lobby you will realize than this resort has a dedication to quality and commitment to their clients. Weather excellent, beach was clean and ocean water between 25-and 27 C. Travel time from the airport to hotel take about 2 hours.
Food:
Food was much superior then other resorts I stay before. Everything was spic and span, amazing professional staff very attentive, service was prompt and polite, the management was professionalism based on European standard. I want to congratulate Mr. Basi for excellent management and amazing diversity available at the buffet.
Room.
Room was spacious and very clean. When I get to my room I realize have an issue with the door. I report this to CS and almost instantly CS service Manager (Ana) propose me 2 options and I got one with an ocean view. (this, I call professional service) Thanks Ana for your professionalism and your dedication to quality of this hotel. The fridge fills up daily with soft drinks and beer. From the lobby to any room at any floor wont take more the 3 minutes because they have multiple elevators for each section of this hotel. Every night I sleep with the open door of my third floor because there was no mosquito at all. What a beautiful place this hotel is….
Beach
There is lots of shade and tree on the beach. The hotels have three pool but I prefer the beach and the ocean. Even after 10 a.m. I was able to find the shade and whole day was plenty of free sun loungers. The water was awesome.
I compare this hotel with other hotels in Cuba (in Holquin, Cayo Coco an Varadero) and I decide to give 5 stars for the following reasons:
1. Hotel: very clean, well maintained, hole personal very polite and professional. The General Manager Mr. Daniel is all over the place all the time to control the well-being of all hotel clients.
2. Customer service: I will say then this CS is one of the best I see in Cuba. CS Manager (Ana) is a dedicated customer service manager that is dedicated to the hotel clients, she's efficient, and I think she love her job with passion. Many times, I saw her late in the evening running all over the place taking care of clients and solving issues.
3. Room: for me the room was perfect, room service was excellent. I been asking by the staff, almost daily if I need anything for my room.
4. The buffet: The variety of the choice change every day, chicken, eggs, fish, vegetable every day as much you can eat. Everything is clean, perfect clen, personal polite and professional. It was a pleasure to get a table and go and choose from the buffet what you want including wine. There is one person responsible for the quality of the menu and service every day. This manager is taking everyday picture of the menu and sending them to General Manager to show him the quality of the food and service. This Gentlemen name is Mr. Basi and don't be surprised if he will stop at your table and ask you if you like the food or if you have some special needs. And for this reason, I will rate Mr. Basi 10/10.
