Location is everything! La Plantation has that! Beautiful beach within a short walk! Safe area, good local food although pricey. Helpful and friendly staff.
First room we had didn't have hot water or a/c. The next day we were moved to an upgraded room. [Details]

This is a very well run hotel in Orient Bay. The staff were organized. The room was large with a waterfront view and a large terrace. The hotel is very close (5 min walk) to the best beaches and best food in St. Martin. The hotel restaurant "Cafe La Plantation" itself has some of the best food as well. We had a 2.5 yr old with us and the staff were very accommodating, as they set up a playpen/crib for him to sleep in and allowed a late checkout on our last day for him to take a nap. [Details]

The strong points

Food was excellent. Room was large and had a large terrace with water front view. Pool was nice. Excellent location 5 min walk to beach and restaurants. WIFI free from common areas if you bring your own laptop.

The weak points

Internet access is expensive if you don't bring a laptop. No internet from room.
