Fantastic Vacation!

, Brampton, ON

Travelled from Feb. 2nd to 9th. The first thing that really impressed me, was that Dimitre (Managing director) is very involved with the success of the resort, but most of all, the total enjoyment of their guests! He shook hands with us when we arrived at the airport and he bade us farewell when we left! The orientation given right away after checking-in by Sunwing and staff from Margaritaville really helped in getting familiar with the resort and the activities in and around the resort (they also served us delicious pizzas!) . I was hesitant to book the Supersaver Room, which is the cheapest at that time, but it was actually very nice, spacious, clean and updated! We got the 2 Queen beds that we requested for myself and my daughter, 4th floor and fronting the adult quiet pool. We have the free Wi-Fi all throughout the resort, in-room safety box, fridge everyday filled with 2 each bottled water, pop and beer. The resort is very clean with beautiful gardens, but could need some update on the decor. Big thanks to our fave beautiful servers, Yara and Yamile. Love you ladies! A shout out also to our bartenders J.A. , Julie Ann, Efnar for making the best mojitos and margaritas, always with a smile! The food at the buffet was really good, but sometimes just a bit slow in refilling the food. Need better service too. We love the Key Cafe ( Ixa!) which serves delicious lattes, coffee, pastries and yummy Cuban sandwiches. Having 3 huge pools was also great. the entertainment at night was awesome - karaoke, salsa, disco. so much fun! The beach is in a cove which makes the water very calm and safe, but just lots of rocks when you enter it, so be careful. By the way, you get served with drinks and food while relaxing at the beach, so this was fantastic and normally you only have this in a 5 start hotel!!!! Just 2 minutes walk and you will find the beautiful, turquoise water of the 7 Mile Beach. 15 minutes walk to the Camana Bay and 30 minutes to Georgetown for shopping. Overall, it was a fantastic vacation, met great people and will definitely come back in a heartbeat!!! [Details]

Wasting away again...

, Vancouver, BC

We were greeted by happy staff & a 7.7 magnitude earthquake... Checking in just as it hit. They appeared to clear the beach immediately and attempted to keep us as calm as possible as this was the largest they had also experienced. Pools and surrounding areas were kept clean, Garbage never piled up on the beach either. I would certainly stay here again if we return to the Cayman Islands. [Details]

The strong points
Happy & attentive staff. Proximity to town (if needed). Comfortable beds. Chickens, roosters and lizards allowed to run wild. Good food in each eating area. "Decent" WiFi in the room. Working elevator
The weak points
New construction 2 properties down on our side of hotel. Fortunately it was an "8 - 5" crew. Lobby entertainment somewhat loud but they knock off when scheduled. (We still slept well)
