A Week at Memories Trinidad Cuba
The resort is older but the architecture and style is Cuban and quaint. The layout of the resort is easy to maneuver and very flat easy walking. There are stairs to the room - ground floor and 2 flights. All views are pretty.
Upkeep is ongoing but there is some major repairs required.
The beach and ocean outstanding ! Long walks available. Beautiful sand bottom for swimming.
Sunrise & sunset Kodak moments. Lots of palapas and trees for shade. Loungers are newer and comfortable. I did not see a broken one.
Many locals on beach doing business but very respectful. It's possible some are hired by resort. Massage on beach is amazing and Masseuse hired by resort. $15 for 30 min. Bliss
Free sailboat, kayaks at resort. Catamaran at beach takes you for a 80 min ride/snorkeling - for the price it's a good small tour. Beautiful boat.
Buffet and a la carte restaurants have good food. Not gourmet - but definitely ok. Great desserts and bread! Cute bbq at beach but every day same food - rice and wiener kabobs . Pool snack bar has good pizza.
Most staff try very hard and they do a good job.
The rooms were cleaned well every day and we had comfortable beds and a balcony. The cleaners left beautiful bed art daily.
Guest Services genuinely worked with you.
No hot water for the week. We managed - reminds you of how lucky we are at home. They were “working on it” all week…
Language barrier - many staff could not speak or understand another language. That made it difficult for our requests/meeting our needs. Quite a few younger staff seemed to not know how to do their job. Example: come to table with water/coffee when you sit down; how to provide service to get a tip.
No ice cubes for drinks most of the time. I love ice so this was a disappointment.
